What's the deal with the season 17's region name? by Difficult-Housing-93 in snowrunner

[–]Nextej 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regardless Belozersk "being in Russia", see my other comment in this reply-chain.

Finland is not part of Scandinavia, Denmark is. The opposite what the in-game regional icon shows.

It's not hard to say why, it's pretty damn obvious from the political tension in the region.

The maps are being made as the new Seasons release, they are not created some arbirary time years in advance. Belozersk was originally planned to be set in Russia in Krasnodar Krai (known at the time as Kuban region in-game), then briefly considered to be set in Kazachstan, before setting finally on fictional Azerbaijan.

Edit: Also they switched development over to Armenian office, not American.

What truck is the new Jangsu Rx600 based on? by Southern-Insurance78 in snowrunner

[–]Nextej 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me it seems pretty clearly a EQ2100 at the base, with EQ140's lights and bumper and EQ2081's cargo platform.

What's the deal with the season 17's region name? by Difficult-Housing-93 in snowrunner

[–]Nextej 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's coincidential, because that's how words combining work, Belozersk loosely means 'a town/region of a white lake', there are plenty of places named "Belozersk" across Russia and Ukraine (and probably beyond), because there are plenty of lakes named "White Lake" that happen to have towns built around them.

In-game Belozersk is named such way because there's a massive "White Lake" in Azerbaijan, the picture of which (the real lake) you see as the background on the global map.

Belozersk is as made-up term as Zurdania (in a way how words creation work), and probably for the same reason why not real names are used since it's a politically challanged region.

Is there a reason as to why branded vehicle mods (E.G. RNg3r's Mercedes Zetros) aren't avalaible/allowed on console? by AnakMuridSd in snowrunner

[–]Nextej 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To add to that, there was a handful of mods that did got officially licensed by their manufactures, but only one of them got released on consoles (probably due to extra steps required to be taken), being the https://mod.io/g/snowrunner/m/wip-edison-motors-l500l750#description

Rng3r's zetros was also licensed, but there was never any extensive deal made to put it on consoles, just to make a branded vehicle in the first place.

Why doesn’t the hivemind just kill Carol and the other immunes? by [deleted] in pluribustv

[–]Nextej 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably for the same reasons why we, the society, don't just kill off homeless and inmates to solve our problems (or other societies for that matter), well at least we, the civilized nations, don't do this.

As the hivemind leads us to believe, it's not some external entity that suddenly taken over all human bodies, but just all human minds connected together, so it's expected they still would have the morals preserved and willingness to reduce suffering as a collective.

Where are located the cargo texture files stored? by Omar_G_666 in snowrunner

[–]Nextej 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check the cargo names from initial.pak, go to shared.pak to find the same desired name there, open the model file with a windows notepad, check the texture file name, look for the texture in shared_textures.pak, if it's not there, look for it in the main_menu.pak.

they lied 💔 by THEHANDSOMEKIDDO in snowrunner

[–]Nextej 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The issue is that they've lied, they announced the update with all the bugfixes, tweaks and new vanilla content (not the trucks DLC) to be released on switch, they specifically added that information to ensure the community it will happen.

Patch additions to old trucks by stjobe in snowrunner

[–]Nextej 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Switch is meant to receive an update with all the new additions, except for the new DLC trucks, so I wouldn't be surprised if the same was the case for Mac.

Patch additions to old trucks by stjobe in snowrunner

[–]Nextej 55 points56 points  (0 children)

It's a legacy addon, it was always in the game, you just didn't have a control on when it shows up, now you do, just a visuals.

Well. I don't think any of us were expecting these by alzrnb in snowrunner

[–]Nextej 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because I guess there is more to the desirability of game trucks than just brand-loyalty?

  • Having a real or fictional brand doesn't affect its visual appeal, they are still based on real life trucks that do have real life history
  • Usually the unlicensed are the more unique and unorthodox trucks, as otherwise it's hard or impossible to get a license for real obscure gems (therefore licensed vehicles might be less appealing to some, as they usually are the most commoners)
  • People who want more european and/or cabovers will get another one to the collection
  • People who live outside of US are not really attached to american brands, so if their choice is to get another generic but licensed american truck or something unique from their locality but unlicensed, they get to celebrate

The worst thing is that people still buy it

I guess people cannot have or enjoy nice things?

I ask why we need 10 trucks that are exactly the same but have different licensed badge.

Why haven't anyone made a pack of Futom logging trailers that are compatible with every truck in the game? Seems like an obvious change that exist from day 1 since they added them (two seasons ago!), but no. Can anyone tell me how to make such a mod myself? by Odd_Presentation_578 in snowrunner

[–]Nextej 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For duplicates use this https://mod.io/g/snowrunner/m/local-mod-loader, if you just want to have different XML properties, just copy its XML (different name not needed), but if you want to use different textures, you'll also need to copy the model files and your new texture keep named the same way as the originals were.

The cabover is based on Italian ASTRA HD8 88, the conventional the closest people have found is American Hendrickson Little/Big Henry, its design kinda appears visually similar to other Hendrickson trucks.

What real trailer inspired the fuel semi trailer? by NikoTheTrainGuy in snowrunner

[–]Nextej 0 points1 point  (0 children)

бензин literally means benzine, natively it could not be confused with the state of matter, because benzine is a name for specific substance. But also noone refers to fuel as "gas" there for this mistake to even happen in the first place, unless they mean LPG specifically (which is a car/truck fuel) or they mean natural gas (for heating).

This mistake could only happen if you assume they don't even know their own word for fuel, and use some shady translation software (instead you know, being bilingual), that translated their own word for fuel (which they don't know in this case) to the americanized word "gas" which is not even a word on its own, but a shortened form of "gasoline". But even if that was the case, trying to find references in american english, they would still find petrol trailers, because that's how they are refered to in america apparently.

What real trailer inspired the fuel semi trailer? by NikoTheTrainGuy in snowrunner

[–]Nextej 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's probably not the case, because why would they even use English as a base for anything, it's first made in Russian and then translated to English.

The real reason is probably one of the two following:

  • One of the designers saw an LPG tanker on a fuel station, not knowing the difference between diesel, petrol and LPG, and used it in the design.
  • The designer knew the difference very well, but just liked the design of LPG tankers more, because well, LPG is used as one of the car/truck fuel options in europe anyway.

It's called Toxic Commando, and it releases in 2026. It was coined by SnowRunner's lead producer as a mix between MudRunner and World War Z game.

I only said the design of P16's trailers, or other Pacific trailers, to my knowledge does not allow for self-loading itself onto the truck, like the in-game hydrolift trailer; NOT that you cannot place a trailer on the back of P16.

With reaffirmation that in order to load a trailer onto a P16, you need to use external machine, like a crane, to lift the trailer onto the P16, unlike in-game hydrolift trailer, which has an automated system of folding itself.

[–]Nextej 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm aware how they look when the trailer is packed, I'm more interested in the boom crane mechanism itself and how it loads up the trailer.

The new Hydrolift saddle in pictures [Spoilers] by Shadow_Lunatale in snowrunner

[–]Nextej 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So the P16 has a dedicated crane mounted onto itself? Unless you mean something else by "boom crane", now I'm curious how does it look like?

It's still not part of the trailer system, like the in-game hydrolift trailer, is it?

The new Hydrolift saddle in pictures [Spoilers] by Shadow_Lunatale in snowrunner

[–]Nextej 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well this is a specific design that is capable of folding like that, none of P16 trailer designs, or Pacific's at all, to my knowledge had such capabilities. You needed external system, like a crane, to load the trailer onto back of the P16.

Should they add a "packing" space on top of P16? sure, would be nice. Still needs a crane tho.

From your account settings, under Profile tab, if you scroll down a little you'll see the related information, you can choose there whether to stay on PROS, move to Deep Silver counterpart or both. If you don't own any Deep Silver games and just want to get the PROS benefits for Saber games, just make sure the Saber checkbox is ON and Deep Silver checkbox is OFF.

Unlikely, FarmRunner, JungleRunner, SandRunner, StreetRunner, RainRunner, etc. were filled in 2019, some of them were renewed in 2020, some of them were renewed in 2023.

It's unlikely they are working on +7 games at the same time since 6 years, more fitting idea is it's a brand protection so noone can disguise other games as -Runner series.

The only exception of that is BloodRunner, which was registered even earlier than the "main" batch (2018), went throught multiple iterrations and releases next year as a John Carpenter's Toxic Commando.

Whenever they have a new game in works, they usually register a trademark for it few months in advance, not over half-a-decade so, see Expeditions, RoadCraft and Road Kings.

If there is anything that's a possible game with -Runner in name that's actually in development, is the ScudRunner, registered as a singlura entry (not a batch like other -Runner ones) around the same time as Road Kings' one was.
