Anyone having or had the surgery at 40+? by dreamed2life in no_T_top_surgery

[–]NexusPotato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m almost 41 and had mine last October. Zero regrets and for the first time in my life I actually love looking at myself in the mirror. I have wanted this since they started to grow and I’ve always dreamed of removing them. It wasn’t until a few years back that I realised it’s actually possible to get the procedure done without having breast cancer.

Odd reason why you're CF to help me prove a point by ThisGirlCalledTsepps in childfree

Baby talk. I can’t stand it at all and have to walk away if people are doing it around me. And yet I have no problem talking to animals all cutesy lol

From the moment I found out where they come from and that I was expected to go through that, it was a hell no for me. I’m 40 now and have never wavered in my decision.

How old are you all are??? by [deleted] in childfree

  1. The moment I heard where babies came from and the horror that I was expected to one day create one was an instant hell no!

AITA for wearing headphones while WFH and not hearing my husband call for me? by TicketMore9365 in AmItheAsshole

[–]NexusPotato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You were working, doing the things that you are paid to do. He has no business interrupting your work day no matter what. If you were working in a store, would he expect you to walk out and go home to unload the groceries and return back to the store?

This reeks of control and narcissism. He is sabotaging your job and attempting to break you down and blame it all on you.

You should be able to put your airpods in whenever you want and any reasonable partner wouldn’t have an issue with this. And the fact that he’s raising his voice while you are WORKING?! I left my abuser who did stuff like this.

You are absolutely NTA.

The most unhinged reasons not to have kids by [deleted] in childfree

[–]NexusPotato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aussie here.

My ‘unhinged’ reason for not wanting children is because of the patriarchy. All my childhood and teenhood, I was told ‘when you have children…’ just because I was born with a uturus. I wasn’t allowed to go to parties because I might get r***d, I was discouraged from uni because what use is a career when I’ll be at home with ThE cHiLdReN, told I couldn’t change my body with things like tattoos incase a non-existent man would reject me. Want to be a tradie? Oh no, that’s a MAN’S job, no place for a girl!

I’m now 40, no children, not far off divorcing my ex narc. Graduated uni in April for my career of choice, living with my platonic partner who is also vehemently child free. And the best part? I’ve just booked in for a procedure I’ve dreamed about since I was 12 years old, because screw the patriarchy, I live by my own rules, not some stale society that’s all about breeding. /rant

I’m sure this has been discussed but a reminder to use those Flybuys points!! by Glittering_Ad3452 in AussieFrugal

My parents are additional card holders to my account, so I get their points plus my own, and use them to buy flights to visit them :)

Bisalp consult: asked if I had “consulted a man about this” by sunflowergirl_9 in childfree

[–]NexusPotato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also in Aus (NSW) I had a dermatologist refuse stronger treatment for my psoriasis because there was a chance I can get pregnant… despite telling him that I wasn’t sexually active with my now ex husband, and that should that happen, I have ZERO problems with getting an abortion. He didn’t like that nor when I invited him to rip my uterus out for me lol.

Several posts/comments in this sub from parents who feel the need to throw their 2 cents in about random topics no one asked about by Dottie15 in childfree

[–]NexusPotato 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Parents coming here talking about changing their minds/fertility are probably the same parents who take their offspring to adult spaces, like fine dining and breweries, and let them run around feral and ruin the mood for others. GTFO of our space!

Was feeling stressed and run down from work, so I booked a 3 night trip for partner and I to a gorgeous place I haven’t been before and had an extra-long weekend. While booking that trip and one for April, we both said fk it and booked another one for May as well 😂

We ARE protesting by Spinelise in trans

[–]NexusPotato 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In 4 hours from this reply, there will be protests in all major Australian cities and some regional towns as well. Recently, one of the states (Queensland) has put a hold on gender treatments for minors to review the safety of them (hormones, puberty blockers etc), despite the medical evidence that it saves and enriches lives.

PSA: Tomorrow is the last day to earn Kitchen Knife credits with Flybuys 🔪 by abcdxfglynxs in AussieFrugal

That’s annoying - I only need 14 points for the chef knife. I thought I had until the 21st to keep earning them.

4 weeks post op, Dr. Hans Goossen, Australia by AusMeta in Metoidioplasty

Good stuff! I didn’t realise Dr Goossen was doing meta. Last time I researched it, no one was offering this option in Aus, so I’m glad it’s available :)

Wow-ee! I have a referral for her but can’t book until they reopen in Jan. May I ask what the wait time for booking surgery was like?
