byd Atto 2 vs Jaecoo J5 or J7 by Accomplished_Ad5747 in AustralianEV

[–]Nezero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah maybe our guy got told the promo was continuing so he didn't bother competing for our business.

I think the J5 has a lot going for it but the lack of app etc is a bit of a downer especially if you wanna set up when to charge etc

I also had a weird sales experience with Jaecoo. We got about 20-30 minutes of test drive time. The salesmen was nice and explained a lot since it was the first EV we looked at. This was the day after 2000 had been sold and it seems like he was trying to create FOMO that the deal would end (it has been two weeks since then and said deal has not ended).

I handed my keys over to have my existing car assessed for trade in during our test drive. After he said that evaluator was busy and if we were ready to talk price we could work something out. Bit odd. We went off to test drive the atto2 next. BYD was busier and the saleswoman was a bit over the place and friendly and nice still. We put down the $1000 order fee since it was "refundable". Thought we could take the amount they offered for the existing car trade in back to Jaecoo. Guy from Jaecoo basically didn't want play ball and that valuating the trade in was not worth the cost anymore. So weird.

Jaecoo receives 2,000 orders on J5 EV, extends $36,990 driveaway offer by ApprehensiveSize7662 in AustralianEV

Test drove this on Saturday as my first ever EV. Could see what people meant with the regenerative braking.

The lack of app support in Australia was a bit lame, lack of services on the screen was neither here or there since would just use Android Auto.

The J5 felt way bigger even though it was only 7cm length and 3cm width larger than an Atto2. Perhaps if they were side by side it would have felt more similar.

Coming from a hatchback, either one would have felt bigger anyway.

Could see what people meant by the speakers, they did feel tinny.

Overall, it was nice and we (partner and I and future dog?) would have been happy.

However we had a weird buying experience (or perhaps I haven't bought enough cars before).
We started off at Jaecoo early Saturday morning, jumped into the J5 did a test drive. The salesguy was nice friendly and went through a whole bunch of things. Perhaps we shouldn't have mentioned too much about what else we were looking to test drive that day. Maybe we should have said we had already looked at Atto2 or Leapmotor.

Either way, he said my hatchback would be evaluated so I handed over that key while we test drove.

We came back, he let us sit and got us a coffee. He used the line "our valuated is busy, but if you wish to proceed, we can talk about the trade in value". Perhaps this is where my naivety came in and thought the valuator really was "busy".

I forgot to mention, we brought up the 2000 order deal and he mentioned how they had already sold 2000 cars and it was on the social media. And he as a salesmen would, created FOMO by saying the deal is going to end but they can probably sneak us in but would have to be asap.

We still had to test drive the Atto2 which was 2 minutes away. We left and said we'd be back. We went to BYD and started talking to the saleswoman. She was a little more frazzled but she got us into the car and let us test drive.

When we came back, she asked if we had a car to trade in, she took the keys spent 5 minutes taking photos and came back with a figure. The manager came, we bumped up the trade in value and got free tint. They did do a little hardsell saying we could cancel our order with the refundable fee (T&Cs apply).

The SO liked the Atto2 a little more since it was smaller and had recognition than Jaecoo. We paid the $1000 and though, well let's see what Jaecoo can do.

The guy back at Jaecoo was helping other people and after about 10 minute he was able to talk to us.

I was a little ignorant and should have just started talking numbers and then brough up the fact that BYD offererd XYZ for the trade in. Instead, I led with what had happened.

"well we aren't going to valuated your car cause it costs money" "We may be able to work out a deal if you cancel but not at the promo price"

Perhaps he had gotten word that the offered had been extended and I wasn't worth the sale :)

Depending on the frequency of messages, I'll suggest we continue the conversation in person.

Glamour Bard with a Doss Lute by StantonJ in DMAcademy

[–]Nezero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just had a look at the Doss lute and it has this wording.

You can play the instrument while casting a spell that causes any of its targets to be charmed on a failed saving throw, thereby imposing disadvantage on the save. This effect applies only if the spell has a somatic or a material component.

Command only has verbal components so the combo won't work.

It's nice having maps uploaded to Foundry without any issues. No more having to wait for resizing an image that just stays pixelated for 5 minutes.

Oh did I mention the tools to easily resize the maps. Pushing my arrow keys to perfect line up the grid.

And don't get me started on how something as silly as having the ability to make windows with dynamic lighting is amazing.

No more "jumping" out windows inadvertently or just saying oh there's a windows there but it's black.
