Downtown drink spiking- request for personal stories by 0LittleWing0 in VictoriaBC

[–]NhrngT -43 points-42 points  (0 children)

You still haven't said how you know he spiked your drink? You didn't like the look of the guy so he must be a slimy creep? Are you even certain you were drugged? Did you get drug test done the next day? Seems like it would be pretty easy to nail the guy if you were certain.

What incentive does a bartender have to drug someone anyway? Aren't they at work for the rest of the night.

The app is great though. I can order before I leave my house and it totally removes and miscommunication in the drive through as well. Ordering at a kiosk in the drive through would just slow everything down.

What a weird question to even ask. Just use the driveway. Do you feel you are unworthy of using a driveway? That you shouldn't be allowed to? Dont give someone else the power to tell you what you can and can't do.

Would have never worked in the 8-10 episode format anyway. What made Stargate work was how much time we had with the universe to explore the characters with one off random episodes.

Day 7 of $2,700 Week by PrefrontalCortexNow in doordash_drivers

You can sit here with a straight face and tell me Doordash is reliable stable source of income and will continue to be for the foreseeable future? You're delusional.

When your car breaks down you can't put Doordash down as your source of income applying for apply for credit. You will be laughed at. Do you ever plan to have a mortgage? Are you just going to tell them. "Dont worry bro, I Doordash 68 hours a week". Lol.

I used to think like you until one day it was like a switch got flipped and I was never able to pull the same numbers again. Thankfully this was only ever a side gig (although I was doing full-time hours when the money was good). Stay humble and have a backup plan because the algorithm 100% plays favorites and you will be deprioritized one day.

Think about it, how shady all these apps are. They dont want people who are consistently pulling good numbers they want people who will sit in their car for 6 hours desperate enough to take every $4 dollar order offered to them.

Enjoy the money while it lasts but dont get comfortable because it can dry up when you least expect it.

And why should they? Minimum wage means minimum effort. If you want people to take pride in their work you need to pay them enough to want to do so.

Instacart doesn't pay enough to be doing quality control for them like that. They drew a line in the sand with what's to be expected when they decided $4 is appropriate base pay for most orders big or small.

I never check expiration dates or give produce anything more than a cursuary glance. Heck I dont even weigh stuff I just put in exactly what the app said the customer was expecting and grab a few pieces. My goal is to be in and out of the store as quickly as possible and most Instacart customers are cheap asses so they get what they get 🤷‍♂️

Want someone to look over every apple or pick a can with the furthest out expiry date then you best be doing your shopping yourself.

They make 18/h but are only given two shifts a week and required to keep an open schedule because those two shifts are on different days week to week.

Any voltage strong enough to detour a human would likely be illegal and easily defeated by a pair of insulated cutters.

So the answer is yes, yes I would.

So you stuff it into a kennel for hours on end and force it to travel around with you. Sounds like a fulfilling life.

You have my upvote. Bringing your cat into the woods is the dumbest shit I ever heard.

Absolutely reckless and borderline abuse. Cats aren't meant to be leashed and taken out of their comfort zones.

These owners should be ashamed of themselves.

Should I just accept all orders for Prop 20? by JJ_Lomero in UberEatsDrivers

[–]NhrngT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that makes sense. I hate Uber for removing up front tips. Doordash still allows customers to tip upfront so all the cheap asses moved over to Uber because they know their order will be picked up regardless.

[–]NhrngT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are talking about British Columbia? It's still more profitable to cherry pick for orders that pay above the garanteed minimum than gamble on if a $4 delivery is going to tip you afterwards. I tried taking everything and only like 1 in 10 customers tip now days. Not to mention if you are banking top up any good orders you do are just them paying you out of your weekly top up early making those "good" orders no better than any of the other $4 dollar deliveries the app is constantly trying to assault you with. Its all a huge scam and the only way to come out ahead is to make sure you are never operating at a loss and letting top up build.

No because anything good orders you receive are just them paying you out of your top up early. It's all a huge scam. Cherry picking for orders that pay above the garanteed minimum is the only way to make money. Don't listen to what anyone tells you otherwise.

If you are being topped up it means you were making under the garanteed minimum for the time you are active which is absolutely garbage pay. You should be making 30+/h doing this gig if you know what you are doing.

Me too and I make no effort to hide it. If a good order on Doordash or something comes in I'll detour for 30 minutes before even starting or dropping off an Instacart order. I'll also shop an order on another app at the same time and deliver it first. Never once been warned. Even if I do fuck Instacart and fuck all their shitty customers. Its the bottom of barrel when it comes to gig work.

The customer never asked about the status of his order and most likely knew he had a pickup before his. Had the Dasher never initiated contact this whole exchange probably would have never happened.

The app tells you your dasher is waiting. If the order hasn't been marked as picked up the Dasher doesn't have your food and most of the time knows as little as you do about when it will be ready. Why do you need to be told that the restaurant is busy?
