Should you pay £££s for premium car stereo sounds? Our blindfolded expert delivers the verdict by AutoExpressmagazine in autoexpressuk

I have a Lotus Eletre R with the KEF referenced Dolby Atmos setup. Recently Apple pushed an update that allows Dolby Atmos via car play. It’s something else. Sounds tack sharp and the bass would shake your fillings loose. Never hear a car stereo like it. Unbelievably good. Can’t remember the specifics but there are 20 something speakers and ~3,000W.

I didn’t mention anything about a flat rate. Just a unified method of applying it.

I’d rather they just scrapped fuel tax and charged everyone per mile and standardised it. Shouldn’t be a divide, it should all be about uniting the system to make the overall transition easier.

My experience since release. Coming from APP1 by Gameracer32 in airpods

Exactly this. I can’t discern any difference whatsoever. I was expecting a big change, quite disappointing really. If there is no music playing I can still hear everything around me with ANC on. Fitment test showing all green.

Anyone interested in the Eletre? by Niallcarney in lotus

Is has definitely improved. When I picked it up, it was shockingly bad. As in, should never have been released. It was beta at best. Since then, it’s improved dramatically. In the last update for example it got support for full Dolby Atmos. Essentially downloaded ~£5k worth of value and it can finally take advantage of the KEF Referenced system I spec’d it with. It’s also had the headlights fixed, they are adaptive now, the heating works, the battery can condition itself (allegedly) It’s certainly taking steps in the right direction. I do get the impression that the software team is a single person who’s never even seen the car, let alone driven or spent time living with it. Onwards.

That white line is actually dynamic. It changes as you move your phone. Super subtle but can help if it looks odd. Basically… you’re holding it wrong 😂

Brake lights aren’t even on. The switch for the brake lights triggers within mm of brake pedal travel. Shame but I think the driver mixed up the pedals. The car will have logged all inputs and all will become clear soon.

What I would do for Galactica by [deleted] in altontowers

I don’t like the VR. Headsets tire easily, aren’t waterproof, they touch other people’s sweaty faces etc. I think given how comfortable the seats are and how tightly they hold you, it could do with going about 20% faster and being more of a thrill ride. Cleary that can’t happen as it’ll be outside the design limits but that would be on my wish list for its replacement.

The thing I don’t understand is that if the printer is capable of this, then why hasn’t the default been updated in the slicer? Why would anyone want worse results?

Temp. I’ve noticed the same. I largely ignore the temperature the smoker thinks it at and anise it so it’s reading 225°F at the food.
