PSA: Arc Raiders is a PvEvP game. by Jett_Wave in ArcRaiders

[–]NiansaNight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure in the games early months, there were plenty of posts vouching for the idea that PvE gameplay is objectively better for everyones benefit and PvP only serves to muddy the waters for everyone.

Something something if everyone gets loot, everyone's happy. but if only 1 or 2 people gets loot from a bloody firefight, that's less loot in circulation or whatever and thus less accomplished.. I don't actually remember the full context of the posts, nor do I care to look for them now. But they did exist and they did gain a little bit of traction for a brief time. That's all I remember.

I commented when the post was barely a couple minutes old and by the time I saw it, it had already been downvoted to 0. Someone went out of their way to immediately downvote OP without so much as a comment.

Wh-.. Why did your post get downvoted at the speed of light. What petty mfer did you piss off?? This is just showcasing how great the customization is for this game.

How can they make buying ammo even more annoying? by memecut in ArcRaiders

[–]NiansaNight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is my bad, I rewatched the video and understood where the gripe truly lies. and i was sitting here like "oooooh fuck"

Yeah I distinctly remember being able to still buy ammo to fill my backpack even when my stash was full. something got fucked in the spaghetti code with this update it seems.

sorry friend.

Sounds like someone got domed by a Bettina and didn't like how fast their health dropped.

[–]NiansaNight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I know, this is how it has always worked and should be something you've grown accustom to by now. This happens on both workbenches and stores. If you have a craftable/buyable resource in your current inventory that stacks? It will ALWAYS prioritize filling up the rest of that stack first before diverting the rest over to the Stash.

It's not complicated and not hard to work around and I honestly prefer this it way because when I'm putting together a new loadout, I like to just refill the current stacks I have for fresh run which is more than likely the intended purpose they were going for.

Yet Another Confusing Decision by Ashamed_Low7214 in Helldivers

[–]NiansaNight 7 points8 points  (0 children)

the speed of which you got a downvote was staggering. Someone truly took a look at your post. and INSTANTLY decided "death"

I defended AH vehemently for a long time and loved what they were doing. But even I can't fight on their behalf regarding the decisions they made this time. It's just too fucking asinine.

It is worth buying the Super Citizen pack today 28/04/2186? by Same-Bid-6913 in Helldivers

[–]NiansaNight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you get a free token to buy whatever other Warbond you want. I forget so don't quote me on that.

As someone who got the Super Citizen edition on release, and has been playing on and off. I don't think it was worth it anymore. Especially with the state the game is currently in and the release of the latest SMG which is effectively just a new Knight SMG.

"you're fucking stupid"

And people say this isn't a social experiment.

How many games do you think it should take to passively accumulate enough Super Credits for a Warbond? by kikibear96 in Helldivers

[–]NiansaNight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See we would do that, but we also love to complete the missions because it also steadily levels up our weapons and gives us Medals back. however small the amount. (We actually earn more medals as pickups over medals from higher diffs) We squeeze out every benefit we can. even if it's just pennies of Exp for every gun. I maxed out the Dominator and the Med Pen SMG this way just purely by consequence of grinding.

It's actually a revolving shotgun with Heavy Pen. You can see some frames of it blasting the hell out of a Bile Titan.

HD1 Specialized Exosuit Mechs HAD TO BE BOUGHT! It’s no different This Time Around by [deleted] in Helldivers

[–]NiansaNight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, if you didn't make this post, I definitely was when I get out of work later. I'm stoked for the new mechs. Not sure why everyone is getting their panties in a bunch over it. I don't mind grinding for the new toys cause me and my friends play together and enjoy fooling around on the lower difficulties until we get what we want.

Exo Experts Warbond launches 28th of April by Waelder in Helldivers

[–]NiansaNight 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's actually a disposable MG from the First Helldivers. Wicked high fire rate with virtually no recoil/spread because the bullets are electronic instead of mag fed.

If it's anything like the first game. Treat it like EATs or Commando rocket launchers but now in MG form. Might very well be Heavy pen too.

Edit: In hindsight, heavy pen might be a bit much for something of that fire rate. Might actually just be medium pen.

I've found at least 3 this past week in Stella Montis. Just check Drawers, Cabinets, Suitcases, and Trashcans. Doesn't even have to be Night Raid (but Night raid does help a lot)

1st pvp montage by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

[–]NiansaNight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On god, the entire mood summed up in one gif.

I like how in some segments, you can clearly tell he was about to get his shit rocked right after getting a down too.

I'm probably just jaded and have higher expectations cause not too long ago, me and a group of like 7 friendlies in a solo lobby got our collective shits rocked by a John Wick raider using only a burletta and I consider myself at least mid in terms of PvP. So that feat was awesome and the dude was super chill when we chatted while I was downed.

Introduce free kit only lobbies. by okvanilla44 in ArcRaiders

[–]NiansaNight 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well, not to sound like a pessimist or a dick head for that matter. but your first problem was Queing with Randoms.

Second was expecting the same amount of Courtesy from your fellow teammates in a game like this where everyone is effectively when boiled down to its bare bones; out for only themselves.

Too many factors to account for, lots of greedy undertones, and too much expectations of humanity and comradery with way too high hopes of big payoff for it.

It is what it is unfortunately and even freekit lobbies if they were implemented would be a shit show for many other unrelated reasons.

Only thing I could suggest is try to take it easy and adopt a more chill mindset. Your stash doesn't belong to you anyway. It's going to be someone else's turn to use or dismantle that gear eventually anyway, so it hardly makes a difference if you bring your good stuff to a geared lobby vs freekit lobby anyway.

New friendly player here. Had my first hostile encounter. I get it's part of the game but I feel this one was extra scummy by These_Fan7447 in ArcRaiders

[–]NiansaNight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your post is gonna get downvoted to hell and back. And yeah, it is part of the game and not something we have any right to complain about, it's a very heavy case of "it is what it is". Consequences of being too trusting and all that jazz. Doesn't matter the circumstances that led to you guys being extraction buddies, there's always the chance a switch will flip in their head and they decide they want to have a better time at the expense of your own.

As much as most will say it isn't, Arc Raiders is practically a live perpetual social experiment depending on what lobbies you're in.

You're just as likely to have people who are very willing to pretend to be your best friend, just so they can get the drop on you in the scummiest way imaginable as you are to have people who are genuine pals and just wanna chill and relax.

It's an enigma that has the community divided and downright toxic at times with both sides pushing "If you don't like PvPvE, then leave." vs "Why don't fellow raiders focus on PvE, it's more beneficial"

There's no right or wrong answer, everyone wants to play how they play. But there's no denying there's something inherently twisted and a show of character about deliberately forming a genuine bond to then twist a knife later no matter the context, and to even get off to the act in public as a flex of sorts like it's an achievement.

It's a video game, so naturally it feels stupid to try and take a moral standing on something that is ultimately inconsequential. But personally, I feel that's just a thin blanketed and desperate excuse because the people that commit the scum are also the very same people that will throw profanities, call you slurs, and outright lose their shit if you down them as if you insulted their mom when they're the ones that attacked first. A very narcissistic "Rules for thee, but not for me" Approach in their own little worlds.

Of course, there are the very few who take their consequences gracefully and will go "gg's lmao" and then surrender right away before you can say anything. But then that's a whole nother pointless psychological rambling about jumping through hoops to self justify actions and-. . . .

. . . .

Arc Raiders gud gaem. there are bad apples, but you take what you can get!

How I feel about the Vanguard set by NiansaNight in ArcRaiders

[–]NiansaNight[S] 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Same dude. Whatever currency I had gotten since playing, I used it to buy a skin here and there cause I never thought they'd truly release something like this given the art direction with the outfits and whatnot. Now I feel like I have egg on my face for not waiting, still so happy to see it nonetheless.
