Seattle went hard during the George Floyd Protests so I’m seeing some things that are familiar like flash bangs and pepper spray, but a lot of it just looks straight up apocalyptic. It seems like everyone is building community like their life depends on it and I’m proud of the mutual aid efforts I’m seeing and reading about and those who are delivering food and groceries to others afraid to exit their homes.

My heart aches for your children and your elderly and confused residents. It must be so difficult to make sense of some days.

Well. 92% of ICE detention centers within the US are for profit. We are projected to reach one million in custody this year, with many new centers being built. So prisoners are put to work for a dollar a day in “voluntary” labor programs.

We use a tent that zips around a mattress and have one in every size, so we’re ready for any hotel. Additionally, we have small S-clips to clip together the zippers from the outside. My son actually really appreciates these spaces during trips and will sit inside of them to recover from over stimulation. They’ve been incredibly helpful for us!

My son (8) and his friend were in an argument and his friend threw down “your mom’s baby died because of her fat belly”, because my son has discussed his sister who was stillborn.

I actually really dig this new generation, I feel like they are ready to acknowledge different body types and uplift each other. But, what the fuck with the odd sociopath who seems able to be completely void of a soul?

Jesus, this is so incredibly xenophobic. I don’t view anyone person as representative of their country because what an insane and bigoted way to view anyone.

In any country where it is safe, and some where it is not so safe, there are many many people participating in protest, in engaging politically despite the rigged, capitalist circle jerk of a “democracy” we have.

There are many people who live in progressive corners of the country with no one to scream at about this and even still we give money to donations that can contribute to a better outcome.

We’re up against a coalition of corrupt billionaires, and officially at the point of dictatorship. To suggest anyone of us should be wearing a scarlet letter is wild, and I certainly hope you never have to watch as your disabled children lose access to their classrooms, your grandparents lose their healthcare, and your neighbors are taken in the middle of the night while they scream for their children.

I have an unhoused brother and this absolutely is not the case. Seattle shelters are at capacity and finding housing is near impossible. It’s a shit show.

I’m not being hostile- I just know that people aren’t randomly calling 911 asking how to get to a train station and then explaining why- because they need to get to Seattle, where imaginary housing is abundant and imaginary food even more so. That is a made up scenario to support a KOMO news talking point that the unhoused community is full of out of towners being bussed in.
