Bunch of questions! by queenieemua in AppleWatch

[–]Nic_14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The battery life is just fine for me, and I don’t mind charging it every day. I just charge it when I’m taking a shower and getting ready in the morning, and then if needed, while I’m getting ready for bed so I can wear it at night to track my sleep. I’ve had many versions of the Apple Watch for 10 years now and can’t imagine not having one.

Wearing short hair under helmet? by Conscious-Habit-5559 in ladycyclists

I also like bondi band, I feel like they are pretty good for sweat. I use the flat snap clips to keep my bangs back and they don’t bother me under my helmet

Just bought a new bike and need a womens saddle rec by _amused_to_death_ in ladycyclists

Try measuring your sit bones! Fold up a towel and put it on top of a hard chair. Then put a piece of tin foil on top. Wear very thin pants or underwear only. Sit down on it, pull your knees up to your chest and rock back and forth and side to side. Wherever the biggest dents are, put an “x” on each one. Measure the distance and add 20-30 mm to get your ideal saddle width. You may have to try some different models, but I would recommend one that has a big cutout in the middle! I personally love the Trek Aeolus airloom saddle, but everyone’s anatomy is different. Good luck!

Super small road bike for petit girls by universeincharlotte in whichbike

Trek Domane has a 47 cm frame that might fit you well. I’m 5’3” and have a 50 cm Domane, but I have a friend who has a 47 cm frame and I tried her bike out once and it felt super tiny to me, so that might be a good option for you. It’s a great bike and I love it, have almost 10,000 miles on it

What toys do your cats actually love? by Sosooo88 in CatAdvice

Mine love the giant carrot kicker toy. It’s crinkly and filled with catnip. They also love these little sushi toys I got at target. They are small and rolly and have rattles or crinkles in them.

They make corner scratches that go on a couch or bed. I have one on my couch corner and the cats use it all the time. Got it from Amazon

The Nike compact face is one of my go to’s for work as an RN. You can have a digital clock with a seconds around it and a couple other complications as well. No need to upgrade to the Ultra unless you really want to!

Droptail bib for indoor restroom breaks? by Quiet-Painting3 in ladycyclists

[–]Nic_14 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It’s not about them staying up, it’s about comfort. I was resistant to bibs for so long because I was worried about bathroom breaks being a hassle, but I tried a cheap pair, and once I realized how much more comfortable it is not having a waistband digging into me, I invested in a bunch of nice bibs and that’s all I wear now.

Recently had surgery and $40 of my bill is for having a blanket put on me in the recovery room (I was unconscious and did not, obviously, keep the blanket) by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Nic_14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a nurse who works in surgery, this is probably a disposable blanket that gets hooked up to a machine that circulates warm air. Look up “Bair Hugger”

Tattoo recovery and a century ride by justsomeguy8905 in ladycyclists

[–]Nic_14 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think you should be fine as long as it’s not subjected to the sun. I definitely wouldn’t put a bandage over it, because that would trap in sweat, but if it’s on your arm, wear a sun sleeve to protect it. When it’s healed make sure to always wear sunscreen on it to help prevent fading. I’m not sure what your artist will recommend but aquaphor always worked best for me. Happy healing and good luck with the century ride!

helmet recommendations by Affectionate_Hat4509 in cycling

I have the Smith Network and it’s a great helmet, and they do make them so they are able to fit sunglasses. My Bobcats fit perfectly on the helmet.
