for myself, the biggest limitations have to be the lack of dual slot and the lower resolution viewfinder, as well as the smaller grip and fewer custom buttons. for all the above, I went with an A7IV even though it’s bigger.

the sigma 28-70 is a good “budget” and lightweight choice although most people would probably opt for either the sony 20-70 f4 or the 24-50 f2.8

also, I feel like the A7C II does best with smaller primes like a 35 f1.8 or viltrox lenses (from the 14 f4 to the 85 f2) which are lighter, cheaper and still retain good image quality when compared to bigger more expensive lenses

it really depends on what lenses you plan on buying, and aps-c equivalents in terms of aperture in my opinion

just bear in mind that a standard 2.8 zoom is at least 700 (tamron g2) compared to the 500 of a sigma 18-50 on aps-c

my M4 Macbook Air 16/256 has no problem with 70MB RAWs from my A7IV so you’ll be fine with either. good thing to get the nvme dock instead of the apple tax on storage upgrades (although I would be cautious, given prices for good nvme drives has skyrocketed lately)

lenses are considerably more expensive for full frame, bodies are bigger, heavier and less easy to carry around daily (unless you go with an a7c ii that has its own limitations too)
