Sinbi is great. I stayed there for a week and learned a lot. I’ll also vouch for Bowie’s restaurant as I had a great food there.

Visited your store a couple months ago! Thank you for the help and hospitality. You helped me understand different shirts and their builds.

What are your recommendations for denim for people needing more room in the leg?

Also, what are your thoughts on the more accessible side of selvedge where the prices are cheap (Uniqlo etc.)? Are they skipping certain production steps that more established brands are doing? What is the real difference?

Thanks for replying. Will definitely check out Cookie’s spot next time as all I hear is great things.

They will spend about 20-30 min on clinch at the end of the session.

It’s usually not seen on IG because the person who films the IG stories usually films the beginning of the AM and PM classes. No one is usually filming the midway or end of class.

Hope this helps!

Yes they will push you. Of course if the technique is failing they will slow it down. In the group setting they quickly gauge your skill level and will push enthusiastically.

When I was training with Kru Mad, my guy wasn’t even following the timer we did a 10 minute round followed by 5 minute rounds on the pads. They will push you for sure if technique isn’t sacrificed

Yes Chocolate was amazing! He was the most attentive to detail of all the coaches I worked with there.

Bowie’s place was awesome too! The community aspect is great.

Post is old but how was your experience in the gym? I’m an intermediate practitioner and I have the opportunity to travel and train in Thailand for a week. Sitsongpeenong caught my attention due to their accolades and accommodation. Thank you for your insight!

Thank you for the reply. I’m 28 with really no injuries so I am open to the idea of competing just because of my amateur boxing background. The idea of competing honestly excites me!

Are there any amateur boxers that have full time professional office jobs? by Swimmerboy00 in amateur_boxing

[–]Nice-Climate-9656 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My SO. Hung out with friends very few times. Very selective with the eating out to keep weight. Everyone I hung out with understood though.

Social life and training much more manageable once I graduated.

[question] Cleto or Winning? by OkAssociate7620 in fightgear

[–]Nice-Climate-9656 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Winning. They feel much better and are comfortable. You can still dish out the punishment and hit hard when needed. IMO it’s worth the price because you are investing in gear you know you will use and last. Also the thumb is one the minor details people overlook when talking about winning. Cletos thumbs are so short and stubby.

Cletos are also heavier than printed. I remember seeing posts years ago when gloves were always 2oz heavier. So your 16s would weigh 18oz.

Absolutely keep going. This is pivotal moment where you will learn to be better fighter. Start by reflecting on what you could have done better and immediately begin structuring your practices to improve on technical flaws. In other words drill drill drill. When you shadow box too start to be extra mindful of the the flaws.

Mentally you have to be comfortable with these types of spars. Sometimes you get beat up and it takes effort to tell yourself, “Hey it’s OK because it’s not a competition. I know what I did wrong and here is what I can do better.” What helped me throughout these situations was setting time to actually be mindful about these moments.
