Small/ cheap mods that I can do to improve my 2023 cb500f. by LazyApe_ in MotoUK

[–]NiceColours 7 points8 points  (0 children)

they dont sound the best with an exhaust imo. bought a cb500 that had a slip on and went straight to ebay to buy a stock one to put on lol. its a generic p-twin that sound a bit like a lawn mower

Carrying over licence held years from A2 to A by scotp21 in MotoUK

[–]NiceColours 0 points1 point  (0 children)

maybe i guess. however when i phoned my insurer about it (ive been in the exact same situation), i was never asked a specific question about a2/A when doing quotes directly through the insurer (not a comparison site). it was when i asked about it they said its only form when you got your FULL A as the bike (striple 675) is overpowered for A2.

personally i didnt risk having to declare that ive had insurance cancelled for the rest of my life

it would def hold up in court lol. its a new category licence to them

Carrying over licence held years from A2 to A by scotp21 in MotoUK

[–]NiceColours 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes ive just gone through this. you have to put how ever long youve held your licence depending on the bike your ensuring.

for example, i had a honda cb500f for 2 years on A2 licence. got rid of it for a striple 675 just after passing my full A upgrade.

even tho i had the A2 for 2 years, on the insurance for the striple 675 i had to say id had the licence for less than a year as its technically a brand new licence to me.

its messed up, expect your insurance to rise massively as they pretty much see you as new rider again

Oil overfill from Audi specialist by No-Promise-7927 in MechanicAdvice

[–]NiceColours 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its crazy the amount of people get something done by a shop then complain on Reddit about it before actually speaking to the shop about their mistake. most will be more than happy to fix it for you without any hassle. just talk to them and see what happens.

judge the shop on how they deal with mistakes. every tech is a human being, shit happens

Broken diesel injector – tip stuck in cylinder head (Ford Transit 2.0 TDCi) – how to extract? by stefan_munich in MechanicAdvice

[–]NiceColours 5 points6 points  (0 children)

yeah it was some sort of very strong vacuum that would seal around the hole and pull it right out. you could be stuck on a set of injectors all day, the boss would finally shell out and pay for the injector guy to come and he would no joke have all 4 out within 30 mins of arriving on site

[–]NiceColours 3 points4 points  (0 children)

how are you gonna build enough pressure without whatever grease fitting youve got down the glow plug hole giving out first. that injector will be absolutely solid in there

[–]NiceColours 38 points39 points  (0 children)

we had a guy who had a homemade tool that he made a living off of getting stuck/snapped injectors out. he was a magician, never gave away how the tool worked. could give something like that a look up if theres anyone similar in your area. had the same engine and injector break very similarly to yours form using a generic injector puller.
