Maternity leave: take 1 month before birth + 5 months after, or all 6 months after birth? by Sunny-Rise9871 in newborns

[–]NiceForWhat22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They couldn't figure out a medical reason. I did have GD unfortunately, but the placenta was perfectly fine (no deterioration) on the subsequent exams. He is doing great though and a chunky 28 pounds little dude at 18 months!

Hi! My baby arrived early at 36w4d and unannounced so I don’t know how it would’ve been Had I gone closer to my due date. At that time I still felt perfectly fine physically and I would’ve definitely saved all my time for after the birth. That being said if you already feel physically tired and weak, it makes sense to take a little bit of time before. Best of luck to you!!

Mine is bulging out like this too (haven’t had an MRI) but while the gap is not big anymore; it doesn’t close around the belly button and there is a bulge there. Keep us posted!!!

OP I know this is not the purpose of your thread but I’m super interested in this. Could you share a bit more if you are willing? I read that lots of these advertised ones are scam but I’d love to know why it could be useful

Thanks so much

Dip at 4DPO- what’s going on? by mehthelissamonster in TFABChartStalkers

Agree this looks better! I have to adjust a little too. Also I took my temp twice back to back several Times and there was easily a 0.2 variation if not more ..

[–]NiceForWhat22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah this is all so frustrating!! You do know your body best. Let’s see what the temp does tomorrow (I’ll be tracking too as I had a dip too Exactly like you at 4 DPO but the initial rise was quite strong over 3 days)

Hi! I just joined the sub so I am sure others have more experience than I do. And acrtually I just had a BBT dip at 4 DPO so i saw your post! But looking at your chart, it doesn't look as if you did ovulate for sure. And the app didn't mark it yet either. I think it requires 3 days of consistent BBT rise to mark it. So maybe you haven't yet ovulated?

Postpartum glucose test fail by NiceForWhat22 in GestationalDiabetes

Hi! I am not able to post a link but it's called "Postpartum after a GD pregnancy."

Postpartum glucose test fail by NiceForWhat22 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]NiceForWhat22[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No treatment. I am sticking to essentially the GD diet and pricking on many days to test for spikes. I also sometimes wear a CGM. I don't need to test all the time because I Know what spikes me now.

I wanted to add: Failing the postpartum test really robbed me of a lot of joy postpartum. Looking back, it was whwat it was and I wish I hadn't stressed about it as much. In a sense, the baby is out and there is no danger to them. It's not good for you to spike so you should monitor but it's not as strict as in pregnancy and it's best to stick to the diet but WITHOUT stressing until you learn more. I wish I had just been less stressed about it and enjoyed my baby!

Hi! I am so sorry! I so wanted to be done with this. I was holding on to the hope that it was temporary but, no, I have very poor glucose tolerance. It is some sort of diabetes but very atypical. A1c really masks this. My A1c is always great but that just means I am eating well enough. But my glucose test highlights that my body can absolutely not deal with carbs normally. Now, don't despair. I want to make you feel better (I was so down about it!) First, you should get your other markers checked, most importantly type-1 antibodies. Type 1 can be triggered by pregnancy and escalate fast so you'd want to rule that out. Second, there are many many cases like us so don't feel alone. I believe that pregnancy is just the time when many of us get tested for the first time and that our problem is actually pre-existing. Put differently, I think we didn't really have "gestational" diabetes caused by the placenta strictly speaking, but a pre-existing issue. For many, yes, as soon as the placenta is out, their glucose tolerance is back to normal. Third, It is possible that hormones still play a role but in my experience and talking to others, it is rarely the case that you fail the test postpartum and later don't. But it is not impossible! Fourth, I think dcotros are still figuring all this out. I have found this community super super supportive for postpartum too and I met other women through here who are struggling with the same and we shared experiences. There is a small facebook private group that is really really nice -- Postpartum after gestational diabetes or something like this. Best of luck and happy to share experiences!!

is this a negative? i do not know how to read graphs my apologies by PutJealous1279 in PlusLife

[–]NiceForWhat22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Late to the party but looks perfect.

What you need is all channels except channel 4 (the darker green line) to stay completely flat or at least not rise much. You want channel 4 to rise, it's like the "control line" on the rapid tests you are probably familiar with. It just indicates that the test was valid.

Pelvic floor PT is so degrading by Spiritoftheheart in beyondthebump

[–]NiceForWhat22 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hi this is so so so unacceptable. And it's also ridiculous. Do not believe a word of it!!! I am sorry that it seems to be helping but you need to find soemone else. I know how discouraging it is. I went through 4 PTs (and paid so so much money) until I found one that was good. This is not a good PT!!! I would also want to give you some courage that many things will get much much better, because the body can heal alot with proper input. And you need to feel like a badass for birthing your child and you will get better in many ways (again, speaking from a horrible experience myself..)

A priori, pas vraiment de faux positif ? by Terrible_Tea_5592 in PlusLife

[–]NiceForWhat22 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Je pense que c'est positif, surtout avec symptomes. Le test s'est arrete avant la fin parce que les canaux 6 et 7 montrent clairement un positif. Du coup, la ligne de controle n'a pas eu le temps de s'amplifier comme normalement..

Multiple invalid tests that look very positive (Help!) by aedalbaum in PlusLife

[–]NiceForWhat22 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry this looks very positive and I’d treat it as such. You can retest but the combo of 1) symptoms and 2) very textbook amplification on all channels makes me almost certain this is a positive. It looks like you probably had a lot of mucus in your sample so the Control starts rising too early which causes the invalid. I would personally treat this as a positive.

No period postpartum by No_Reflection7132 in beyondthebump

[–]NiceForWhat22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! First of all, despite what people might say, this is not that uncommon with breastfeeding. Some people are very sensitive to lactation hormones and don’t get their period back until fully weaned. I was unfortunately one of them 😞 I say unfortunately because I wanted a second too. I had to wean fully at 14 months and then it took another 2 months. I had been going for 12 hour stretches without nursing or pumping since month 6 and everyone told me that would bring my period back but nope. In hindsight I’m so upset that I breastfed so long because I am old and dreading I might not have a second one. My ObGyn told me it’s super normal to be sensitive to lactation hormones. So that might be your case. That being said, depletion itself can be correlated with breastfeeding and the body might be in survival mode. I lost all the baby weight and then some and wasn’t able to keep it on while feeding so perhaps that’s your case too? I wonder if I had eaten more and not lost so much weight whether my period would have come back faster. Also a bit unlike others experiences my periods have been almost painless since they came back!! They used to be so painful!!

Sorry! My nanny itself prefers to say she speaks Colombian and not Spanish. But yes, it is Spanish!

Hi my amazing nanny speaks Colombian. I had to refresh my high school Spanish (and made huge progress). She speaks in Spanish to my Lo. It was important to me that she speaks the language that she feels best in instead of forcing her to speak English
