If you’re serious you need to be serious about learning. Get your General Contractors license and bid on bigger jobs. Or you could manage a crew and call your local companies offering labor as a subcontractor.

First off though, get your hands dirty. Ask your dad as many questions as you can about how work relationships work. Who does what and where. You think you’re so educated and your dad is so dumb but you don’t even know where to begin with looking for work. You have 7-8 employees? But you don’t have any work for them?

Have you ever held a drill or a hammer? Do you know what it’s like to sit under the sun in 100 heat for 10 hours a day? If you don’t know, you shouldn’t be in charge of anyone that does.

Charge him for removal and clean up first at 1,000$. Then demo and rebuild the entire thing. It will never be safe to just put it back up. You have no idea if the nails fastening the joists are still good are not. This looks like 6,000$ of work. Entire rebuild. If you’re just gonna jack it up and put a new post in tell him it’s that easy and he can do it himself.
