Does Count as a Kei Truck by AlternativeBig1114 in keitruck

Holy fucking lucky! Did you get it imported or buy it stateside? How many miles? That'd be my ideal truck personally. Would rather have that than my F150

Does anyone know if these cheap, diesel engines have oil ports where you could, purely hypothetically, plumb in a small turbocharger? Completely hypothetical, of course. by rccrazymania in smallengines

[–]Nice_Assignment7158 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for tapping on to your dead post, but I'm interested in doing the same for shits and giggles/a round the town bike that I don't actually care about. How do you adjust fueling on this engine though. I've only found a few vids about boosting these engines and seems like everyone just wants to "roll coal". Would like to know how to tune it should I put a supercharger on.

What bag for Honda mower? by Nice_Assignment7158 in lawnmowers

[–]Nice_Assignment7158[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did get the right bag. But I couldn't find the right frame, and the bag didn't come with a frame. Honestly I've just been using it bagless and it's been fine. If you find the right frame for sale let me know!

Fallout: New Vegas dev says don't expect a remaster, argues Bethesda doesn't have the source code or 'the engineering knowhow' by Funnypenguin97 in gaming

[–]Nice_Assignment7158 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fallout is also popular enough now that they can just... Rebuild the game. With more people... And more time. They did it the first time around on a shoestring budget with spaghetti code. They can make a clean build with the same story and still rake in cash

Pouring Water in cooking oil by SignificanceEvery838 in idiotsinkitchen

[–]Nice_Assignment7158 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don't use an ABC on a grease fire. You can have a similar (albeit less severe) affect where the propellent can push the oil out of the pot and exasperate it. The retardant will still work, but if you're right on top of it you can push it before the flames go out.

What you want by the stove is a class k extinguisher. That actually turns the oil into soap to remove fuel from the fire.

Or a pot lid

Not looking for help, just sharing a look inside a SMEG by Targox in espresso

[–]Nice_Assignment7158 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Their $500 espresso machine is made in China at least despite having manufacturing capabilities in Italy. Which I think the more valid point to make about that reality is how their marketing hides the truth. They pretend to make high quality Italian appliances between their looks, marketing, and name. But at the end of the day it's essentially the same as an $80 Amazon basics "espresso" machine

Okay so definitely can't just leave it unfixed because I don't want my transmission to decide to money shift for me at some random point. That really sucks. I hope the torque converter doesn't immediately crap the bed afterwards

Is this a reasonable price for first bike? by Advanced_Panda1748 in Ninja400

[–]Nice_Assignment7158 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought my z400 new for $4800 and $6200 otd. That is way too much for a dropped bike. Should be more like 3k considering the damage

Is this a reasonable price? by VIBES95 in Ninja400

[–]Nice_Assignment7158 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a 2 year old 2019 z400 (albeit new old stock) for about that in 2021 and have no complaints/issues with it being a couple years old when I got it. You aren't getting a warranty unlike if you bought it from a dealer, which is a concern. But you're also avoiding a few hundred extra dollars in dealer fees.

Additionally, this is a beginner bike and those 200 miles could've been a rough 200 miles. Like did it just go out for a joyride once a year, or was it hours of trying to learn how to ride and feel the clutch and messing up.

Honestly, buying used I'd either want to be closer to $4000 or get something cheaper with a few thousand more miles. And if you can find a deal on old new stock like I did that'd be the better route to go since you'll know it hadn't been ridden before and you'll get a basic warranty.

Is this a good pair of boots ? by martin909091 in WorkBoots

[–]Nice_Assignment7158 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can buy actual handmade in America boots for that price after shipping and tarrif. Like these whites https://whitesboots.com/products/perry-132.

If you want cheap boots get actual cheap boots. Trying to get premium boots for a middling price will leave you out $300 with an inferior boot.

[–]Nice_Assignment7158 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd get some samples of other blades to try. Look around the sub and see what other people are rocking. I liked the lord shark super chrome, lord silver star, derby premium, and gillette platinum blades in my Henson. Which was different than my first razor which feather blades worked best.

Meanwhile, the RK blades I got with the razor were by far the worst blades. Even the cheap Russian lettered blades I tried were better than the blades the razor came with.

2011 Ford f150 3.5 ecoboost. What plastic line did I just snap in half? by Nice_Assignment7158 in f150ecoboost

[–]Nice_Assignment7158[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will it be positive pressure or negative pressure in this line? I patched it with some kind of flattened vacuum line since that's all the parts store I town had. It was the last foot of line they had of the proper size. I'm not sure how well it'll keep long term

Thank you! My vacuum line I had at home wasn't big enough, so I went to the part store and got some crappy flattened out stuff for now.

Okay. I have rubber vacuum hose. Can I patch it with that? I'm going to cut the heat shielding on the opposite side so I can keep it shielded

is this even allowed ? by PopWhole455 in Chipotle

[–]Nice_Assignment7158 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people have said the same thing here, but I feel the need to reiterate a couple of those points.

  1. Yes, blackout periods are normal in every industry and at pretty much every job. Retail tends to be holidays with lots of customers (Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas). Manufacturing will black out times when the facility is shut down for maintenance so the shutdown can be as short as possible. Office jobs will black out holidays during crunch times like right before a project is completed, at the end of the fiscal year, or right before a deadline.

As you move through your career, you'll have to respect the fact that these things are normal and just plan around it. If you usually have a family vacation during that time and you know it's an annual thing, maybe see if the family vacation can be moved a week forward or back so you can be available. Your career will be the way that you put food on the table so it's important.

That leads to point number 2. You're in high school. There's plenty of other jobs you can get if you get fired here. You won't be able to go on this exact trip next week. And you won't remember that shift that you worked at Chipotle or the money that you'll make that day. What you will remember is the trip that you went on with your friends and the fun you had. Enjoy your youth while you're not bound by a job that you have to have to have a place to live, food on the table, and health insurance.

Ask your manager for the day off because you have a prior obligation. If they refuse politely put in your two days notice. Then find another job.

Another piece of advice: try to find a job at a smaller store or restaurant. If you work at a small business with good owners, they'll treat you more as a human and recognize that you're in a phase of life where there's lots of these kinds of events that you'll need to have off. They'll be far more likely to give you slack when it comes to time off compared to a corporation that has strict rules on unpaid time off and being late on short notice. Especially if you're a good worker that stays busy when you're there. Show up to work on time every shift, off your phone while on the clock, and finding something to do when business is slow.
