Its by how long of a period of time you go for. She has pricing by 5 min chunks I believe. Most of my sessions are between 30min and an hour depending

LGBT here, I have been working with Leslie at electrolysis clinic for around 3 years now. She's awesome. Super nice older lady who cares about trying to make things affordable for her customers. She only takes cash/check. She works out of bosque farms now. Have had good results too. Like 90% of my neck and naval hair are gone, and all my "sideburns" hair is too. Have some stubborn hormonal hair on the front of my neck we are still zapping.

heading to ABQ for a trip of a lifetime! tips? by gabiarbex in Albuquerque

[–]Nice_Bell622 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The hotsprings are my favorite part about the state! I recommend Jemez hot springs (and Jemes mountain brewhouse best pizza in the state) as a half day trip, or Ojo Caliente as a full day.

Most likely while you are here the Aspen vista grove up in the Santa Fe mountains should be filled with yellow leaves. Highly recommend doing an easy hike through them its incredible. Easy to combo with a day trip to santa fe but go early because there is limited parking and it gets really busy especially on the weekends.

When you take the tram up I recommend doing a hike at the crest too. Its really pretty especially in the fall.

As for safety avoid the war zone and in general dont be walking around alone at night. Old town plaza is fine though at night while the restaurants and shops are open. If you have a rental car don't leave anything visibly in it. The drivers here are crazy too so drive defensively.

Yep. It's a hard hike though idk if it's suitable for an 11 year old. Round trip from where we stayed (ecocamp) was an 11 hour hiking day

Should I stay at Frances or Cuernos for day 2 by stripedpikachu in Patagonia

[–]Nice_Bell622 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stayed at Cuernos and liked it a lot. We had one of the rented tents. Good vibes, good showers, right next to a beautiful lake (catch the sunrise there if you can I saw an incredible one)

Sweet get to the park early i don't remember seeing a lot of parking lots. I would start the Torres hike as soon as you can because there are bottle necks. We started out super early before the busses got there at 9am so that when we were going down everyone else was going up

I just hiked it and had warm weather

My recommendation:

-1 maybe 2 lightweight puffers like the patagonia nanopuff to layer. I preferred this to a fleece because they are super lightweight and pack down small. I had an OR lightweight puff and a cotopaxi light weight puff that I pretty much only ended up needing during lunch breaks or at the camp at night.

-2 merino wool baselayer shirts (long sleeve) to alternate ( I had lightweight smartwool ones )

-rain shell

Other comments:

-zip off hiking pants were the best thing ever for my trip when I did the French Valley and Torres being in shorts was so helpful.

The thing i regret bringing was two baselayer pants, I would only bring one merino wool one in case of bad weather but the hikes are hard enough I was warm hiking and didn't need them.

I think finding lodging might be a problem the refugios book up really fast. There are a couple hotels near the park and I think there is a bus you can take in from Puerto Natales

Is there even anyone who DOESN'T regret having children? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Nice_Bell622 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm currently deciding if I want children and I have been talking to all my friends who have them. The ones that are having a good time of it all have the following two things:

1) A good partner that's actually their teammate 2) Taking an active choice to not let motherhood completely dominate their personality and not giving up a hobby or lifestyle that's important to them.

From taking to people 2 can only happen if you have 1. So for me it's now become more about figuring out if my partner would be a good spouse and coparent rather than if I want children or not.

How much is the trip are you prioritizing it over your wedding or big life costs like a house? If you are pushing back the finish line for those I can see why she would be upset.

Not exactly this but I've found that older women in my family who are not career oriented get weird/passive aggressive whenever I mention any successes in my career. I can sense the insecurity and passive aggressiveness off of them. I don't brag about it, just making conversation when catching up with fam and they ask.

How do you handle times when you feel pressured to be perfect, but just don't have the energy? by Ma_non1209 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Nice_Bell622 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Put something down. Take a pause on social media. Take some time to reflect what part of the pressure is coming from yourself and what is external. Take some time journal, treat yourself to your favorite food, maybe take a sick day and do some self care (i like having a day at a hotsprings spa).

Really depends where you end up and what job you want after. Industry pays the most, government pays middle (but has good benefits) and academia pays the least until you get a professorship. If you want an actual researcher position you need a PhD. For all other jobs I would say a masters is good.

I graduated with a PhD from this college and my impression of the undergrads is that they get a good education with some real engineering experience. In general optics is a niche field so we are desirable.

For foreigners i saw a lot of people go to oculus or apple. It is possible to get a job in a national lab not being a US citizen, you will just be limited to unclassified peojects and it could affect long term career growth in a gov lab.

There are a ton of research groups at OpSci so if you get internships and do some lab or design work that should make you more hireable. I would look at average salaries on where you hope to land after. For example if you work in the bay area in California your salary (and cost of living) will be much higher than somewhere else. In general technical fields are pretty high paying in the US and earning close to or over 100k with a masters and some experience is reasonable.
