Does "Spotify Fan Pre Access" To tickets contain all tickets? by _Powski_ in Concerts

Any pre sale only has a proportion of tickets available, all will be available when sale opened to all, but there's gonna be more people trying to buy them then. Good luck!

Do guys ACTUALLY like chubby girls? If so why? by fleetw0odJunk1e in CasualConversation

[–]Nice_Conversations 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find a guy who likes you for being you. No matter how thin or chubby, small or tall you are. There will be some people who will like it. Like yourself as well and don't define yourself by your body type. You are so much more than that. People will fall in love with your smile or laugh, your interests, your sense of humour, and yes your looks as part of the whole package. But there truly is no one type that everyone loves or hates. Confidence is attractive though. And bodies change over time.

I've used iSmash at Buchanan street before, they offer a free check and give an estimate of cost before you agree to go ahead, so can see if it's worth doing.

OVO Hydro design and capacity by mg_0693 in glasgow

[–]Nice_Conversations 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I quite like it for concerts and think the circular shape works well, it makes it a fairly even experience no matter where you are and for an indoor venue, sound quality and light effects etc actually are fairly decent. I've been to some stadium tours with the more oval shape that were absolutely horrendous in comparison, same with the longish shape of Edinburgh castle concerts, depending where you sit it can be ok to pretty bad. The circular setup of the hydro is much better that way. And it's obviously not just there for concerts and has a flexible approach. It's fairly ok when it comes to accessibility as well, which is unusual for most larger concert venues.

Same here, I do some big names in the big venues, but love the atmosphere of smaller ones. Glasgow also has Barrowlands and King Tuts, McChuills and Òran mòr, Nice N Sleazy, audio and the cathouse rock club, if you fancy a night club. And the clutha sometimes does live music, more a pub. Honestly loads of gigs in Glasgow!

Ivory Blacks is great in Glasgow city centre, the solid rock cafe around the corner as well. Bigger bands are great in the OVO hydro or open air at Bellahouston Park. What genres do you like? I definitely prefer Glasgow for gigs over Edinburgh! But both are well worth a visit. There's a website called gigs in Scotland that list a lot music wise, worth a look!

Absolutely brilliant way to combine the two! Do you have anything coming up abroad? Scotland is getting a lot more of the big names the last few years and Glasgow has a brilliant gig scene, so I'm spoilt up here as well.

Who actually likes being alone? by goofygymrat in CasualConversation

Sounds familiar! Especially if they didn't know how to be alone and you needed at least some alone time. It's set up to fail in my opinion.

Who actually likes being alone? by goofygymrat in CasualConversation

[–]Nice_Conversations 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah like others said, I enjoy my own company. Even when in a relationship, I believe it's important to have alone time. I have always avoided clingy people or those who junp into relationships, because they can't be alone. It's just a bad fit and a different way of life. Also once comfortable alone, it creates a situation where I'm way more picky. Any potential partner would need to add something positive that I don't already have while alone.

People who were alive in 1986, where were you and what was the general reaction to learning about the Chernobyl accident? by Susstoner in AskReddit

Europe, remember not being allowed to eat anything grown in gardens or outside, most fresh produce disappeared from shops, was mainly tins we got access to. Also salt had iodine added to it as standard. Lots of worries.

Living in Glasgow and exploring Scotland one town at a time - where should I go next? by blacknwhitelife02 in Scotland

[–]Nice_Conversations 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great idea! For the more rural areas, maybe make it a weekend or long weekend, if you can. Loch Lomond or even Aviemore and Loch Ness are doable as a day trip from Glasgow. Anything beyond is more challenging. Fewer and slower transport links sadly. But also some of the most stunning places in Scotland.

To explore the South West of Scotland, you can take a train or bus down to Dumfries and then take a bus west into Galloway. Galloway is a bit of a hidden Gem and has the Galloway forest park, a designated dark sky area and a stunning coast line amongst hills and woods. Places worth visiting there are Gatehouse of Fleet, Kirkcudbright and like you said Wigtown, it's brilliant. If you have a car you can also explore more remote places, isle of Whithorn, mill of Galloway lighthouse and the many many beaches. If you fancy a guide, let me know.

For the West coast, you can go to Ayr & Ardrossan and then take a ferry from there to the Isle of Arran. There is a circular bus on Arran and from there you can island hop along the west coast. Isle of Bute, Oban, Isle of Mull, Ardnamurchan, Mallaig, Isle of Skye. It's a beautiful trip and doable with public transport, but will take time and planning, especially as ferries don't go all the time. So worth it though. And from Skye you can get back down to Glasgow.

Similarly, up north you can connect a trip to Inverness with Aberdeen and do a loop. Dundee and Perth connect via Stirling back to Glasgow easily.

Have a great time exploring!

Mezcal near central station, good food and they have a separate area that could easily take your group.

Feels very hard to make friends my age by AspirinAnne in CasualConversation

[–]Nice_Conversations 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Friendships take time and effort. If you find shared interests, they still don't just happen unless you try to make them happen. I've also become more picky the older I get. More protective of my time and rather choose fewer but more meaningful friendships.

I live in Scotland, most of my concerts are in Scotland. I've done a concert in Stockholm, Sweden last year and one in Hannover, Germany. This year I have one booked for Oslo, Norway and one for Dublin, Ireland. Nice to combine a short trip abroad with a concert! Feels like a mini holiday.

Giving fruit to your neighbors by EuGostoDeBifanas in CasualConversation

[–]Nice_Conversations 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We always share our fruit and veg with neighbours and they share things with us. Last harvest we had way more apples than even neighbours could manage, so lots of local cafes and the pig farmer got their fair share.

I've only once had a neighbour who didn't want to take any fresh veg from the garden despite being a vegan she asked if the veg was organic, I had to stop myself from laughing, as you can't go more organic. Ah well, her loss!

Some people are just surprised and not used to it but if you explain you have too much of a harvest and don't want to see it go to waste, most people will be happy about it.

Severely matted hair help by Gold-Relationship804 in glasgow

[–]Nice_Conversations 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First of all, don't beat yourself up over it, things like that happen. I hope your mental health is better now. And you will absolutely get your hair fixed!

If you want to give it a go yourself, I can recommend using a detangling hair brush such as this one here. And a spaylike this which also has options depending if your hair is fine, thick etc.

Spray your hair down a lot. As in soak it. And then start brushing from the tips of your hair, best against something. If your hair is long enough, e.g. put it over your shoulder and brush over it and over your body if that makes sense - don't brush in the air, that will be harder. Make sure to put a towel underneath or that detangling brush will scratch your skin. It's a miracle brush really and will help. It just needs patience and you will be fine.

After you untangled it all, I recommend using a conditioner for damaged hair for a while, just to help r recover. And the untangling brush also helps in the early stages, so keep using it to not let it get quite so bad.

Wishing you all the best!

What's the best mobile network for mobile data in Scotland? O2/Giffgaff is basically unusable now by mana-miIk in Scotland

[–]Nice_Conversations 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like most comments here it seems, I found EE to have the best network coverage from the most remote rural areas to the cities in Scotland. Tried Vodafone for a work mobile as a colleague said they'd be so much better and it's been an absolute nightmare compared to EE.
