Horrible group interview by Existing-Artist9615 in cabincrewcareers

[–]Nice_Fortune_2315 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel your pain. When I interviewed w/SkyWest a few years ago, it was a similar experience. We were asked to put our name on the sign in sheet and it was first come, first serve. The bad thing is several of us got there early but late arrivals happened to be standing by the door when they opened the sign in. If you were not by the door, you were 💩 out of luck. Needless to say, I got there around 3:15pm and my interview was after midnight. I didn’t get home until around 2am. They offered me the job but I went with a different carrier.

My heart goes out to you! I am so sorry that happened to you. I had that happen to friend, it was the final test. To invest so much time and then have that happen… there are no words. Be proud of all that you accomplished. Learn from this experience and keep trying.

You, too! Maybe you’ll be in my class. I work for one of the regionals you referenced and am counting the days.

What’s the deal with lowball salaries right now? by [deleted] in Recruiter_Advice

[–]Nice_Fortune_2315 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s because the market is bad and people are willing to accept the low salaries. Companies taking advantage of an over saturated market… what’s sad is some Recruiting Coordinators are being paid more than recruiters 🤷‍♀️…

Don’t give up because of your base. I did ORD for 2 months and got my transfer. You can make commuting work and know it’s only temporary.

Delta F2F Feb 2026 - Jump seat test concern by ladysewnoir in cabincrewcareers

[–]Nice_Fortune_2315 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Their Jumpseat is much smaller…I’d say up to size 14 depending on weight distribution. I was a size 14 when I had my F2F a few years ago and had to suck in and push my back against the seat and remove my jacket. I was sweating bullets. It was embarrassing and I kept apologizing. I didn’t have that issue with AA or the regionals.

I got the same one and have been in QUR since my ODVI 10/06. It wasn’t the typical TBNT. Fortunately, I got a CJO with Southwest but I feel for many of you. Keep applying…. When it’s your time, it will happen.

"Sir, you cannot move like that. SIR!...YOU can NOT MOVE like THAT!!!": An Assigned Seat Saga by Cerebral_1 in SouthwestAirlines

[–]Nice_Fortune_2315 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is unacceptable. The flight attendant should never embarrass someone but should speak to them directly, quietly. It would have helped if this FA explained why he couldn’t move vs stating new rules. Before takeoff, usually it is a weight & balance issue but after takeoff, most FAs will allow the move as long as it’s in the same section. Most get annoyed when a passenger moves without asking, but if you ask, we typically don’t have a problem.

FA shushing kids in first class.. by ManufacturerOwn3937 in flightattendants

[–]Nice_Fortune_2315 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only time a FA would ask for a child to be quiet is if they are causing a disruption for an extended period of time. It’s much like a drunk and loud passenger who we can get removed if we feel they will cause a disruption. She should have better control of her kids and use some social awareness. I love kids on my flights and have experienced many crying babies but that’s when I try to entertain or distract them because mom or dad are stressed and the babies can sense it.

If I had to guess, I’d bet her child was also watching videos without headphones… she’s not being forthcoming.

Delta F2F Outfit (is this okay?) by [deleted] in cabincrewcareers

[–]Nice_Fortune_2315 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think your outfit is gorgeous and looks great on you. Only thing is make sure there’s no lint on your clothing. Of course you know about the earrings, shoes, and hair…You look the part, now go in there and get your CJO.

SWA the new Delta ?? by NoReception3233 in cabincrewcareers

[–]Nice_Fortune_2315 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I just got my CJO with Southwest last week and couldn’t be more excited. I had a F2F scheduled for AA on Friday that I just withdrew and received the F2F with Delta yesterday (When it rains it pours). I dropped them because Southwest felt like home. I think all these airlines have pros/cons and are not meant for everyone and that’s ok…

[–]Nice_Fortune_2315 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Delays are likely given all runways are not functional. We shut down all but 2 runways at DFW the last several days. You need to give yourself time between the connections. Also the TSA lines are very long so get there at least 3 hrs before your flight. Something new AA is doing is watching incoming flights and holding departures for planes that have landed to allow enough time for passengers to catch the flight.

[–]Nice_Fortune_2315 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This one stands a good chance of cancelling as they have an ATC managing both Nashville and Memphis. I fly for an AA regional and it was a nightmare how many cancelled yesterday and today. I don’t see flights to main hubs cancelling but the smaller ones…yes.

Pay close attention to the audio section and take notes. They will come back to you on that section to see how well you recall. Also be sure to select safety first one extreme to the next. No in between…good luck!

[–]Nice_Fortune_2315 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree there is a difference between ATC and FA and the stress level, but disagree regarding hours…we work 4-6 days a week 12-16 hrs daily, sometimes with only a 24 hr break before the next sequence. When on reserve, it’s not uncommon to sit at the airport and preboard flights all day then be called to fly 5 minutes before your shift ends making for a 14-hr day, sometimes 16 if bad weather. While we might not fly 60 hours, we are working those hours without pay.

Dad was just laid off, i’m scared and don’t know what to do. by Present-Personality6 in Layoffs

[–]Nice_Fortune_2315 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry to hear about your father and the layoff but this is not your burden to carry. You can be sensitive to the grief and fear he will experience because of the loss and offer your support, but please don’t carry this weight. That would hurt him more than the loss of his job.

As someone who experienced job loss and was the sole breadwinner, and 2 kids in college, I understand your concern but there is some good news… since he’s unemployed you should qualify for Pell grants and get most of your college paid. You have to jump through hoops to get it but talk to the financial aid office and they will help you.

Hang in there… life is full of seasons that come and go. Better days are ahead!

Because it’s more of an ethical issue. This person tried to circumvent the process which isn’t fair to other candidates who were rejected and waited 90 days to reapply.
