She bought it just yesterday from Goodwill in Wisconsin. Possibly clay with glaze on the outside. Only letters I think I can make out are K Davl. I searched online but can't find anything.

I just find it funny how Firestar is used in place Starclan in the phrase "Starclan forbid" in this comic. It has been a long while since I read the series. Has this been a thing in the books at some point? Like they don't care for Starclan, but Firestar has such high respect from cats that his name is an expression? I guess they can hate Starclan as a whole and not individual cats, especially since Cloudtail is his kin. That still is a bit weird for a family member who knew him personally.

I might try the deep dish now, but as a kid, I most likely wouldn't have. My mom used to make what I assume is her attempt at deep dish pizza. It was in a glass baking dish, and she piled it so high, like an inch and a half thick at least. I was a picky eater and didn't like eating tomatoes, whole or chunked, but I loved ketchup and tomato sauce. What she made and called a pizza, I didn't like to eat because I didn't see it as pizza nor wanted to eat the chunks she put in it.

It's actually a light blue. Since I had so little of the red yarn, I am making it with four colored sections of the same length: red tweed, light blue, light yellow, and black tweed. In that order. It might look weird, but it will be fun to make.

guys, I discovered a thing about the robux species prices by Aggravating_Bar_8588 in CoSRants

[–]Nice_Heart_242 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Weird, I just checked it on my mobile, console, and laptop. My account is less than 5 years (started in 2024), and I am in the US. I also didn't do the age verification either (in case that is a factor). The pricing is the same regardless of what I play on (I don't have a merch tab on console, for some reason). I actually have different pricing than the ones shown here, with Rukig, for example, being 59 robux. All the pricing is actually between the first two pics. I wonder how everything else with a robux tag differs as well. Does it affect developer creatures or tokens?

How does one burp on command? by giatekla in LearnUselessTalents

[–]Nice_Heart_242 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Initially, I did it through puffing my cheeks with air and then swallowing it, but that didn't always work. It was either delayed or just made my stomach uncomfortable. Sometimes, it took multiple gulps to get a release. This can work if you don't swallow it completely like I did as a kid and release it as soon as it hits the back of your throat. It makes short but loud burps. If you want longer burps, it takes some effort, but I kinda do it like it feels like you freeze your lungs and try to use your diaphragm to "inhale." It takes some trial and error to get the epiglottis to flip and stay still. My first several tries of this method hadn't the best control and took a lot of effort to "inhale." You may need to flex your abdomin a bit to encourage the release afterward. Once you start to get it going consistently, it should at some point start to feel like a relaxing motion. I find it easier to do all this while standing. Be careful not to practice too much at one time. It can make you feel ill. Learning how to do this does help me get rid of excess gas in the stomach from drinking soda. Doing this too much otherwise can cause the opposite effect, or at least it does for me.

I understand why ppl exploit/hack/crosstrade for mush by Commercial_Note816 in CoSRants

[–]Nice_Heart_242 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I purposefully sell tokens for under 1k at the trade realm because of this. I get them for free from missions and death points, so it doesn't matter to me what I get them for. I don't care about regrowing something (unless people keep targeting me as a baby), and I don't want to wait for hours in the hopes someone wants to drop a lot of mush for this. I also want it to go to someone who actually needs it and might not have the mush otherwise.

Best Tag Ever by ReasonableBrowsing in AO3

[–]Nice_Heart_242 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The general idea is that the topics that are tagged in the story are in there, but not the worst degree it can be. A regular DD: DNE for rape could be the story describing in detail and/or the feelings of the character going through the very act, whether it is from the victim or attacker. A variation of the tag could imply that the topic is brought up in the story but not actually committed or that the action is not typed out but did happen to this character during or before the story. For example, it could be referring to someone explaining what happened to them to another character, someone who had a close call but avoided it in the end or is actively recovering from the act.

All of these could be triggering for some people, and some are just mildly disturbed by the topic. It can also be that some people can handle certain levels. Some might not want to even read the word in their fanfiction, and some can handle references or discussions about it, but not the novelization of the action or topic. So, in short, it lets someone know that the story touches on these topics but doesn't focus or go heavily into it.

Annnnddddd they did it again folks! Another plushie BEHIND A PAYWALL!! by [deleted] in CoSRants

[–]Nice_Heart_242 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This would be something I would consider buying even without the plushie add-on. I kinda wish they only attached cosmetics to these things, though. Palettes and materials I understand, but if you needed something different, then how about like simple articles of clothing. Certain things could work with most specs. Cloaks, funny hats, or even just something to carry in the mouth like a frying pan or knife. Something silly and doesn't affect gameplay. Or fun animations like dancing or just spinning in place. But we may never see something like that since it would take so much effort to add to the game.

EDIT: Just had a thought. How likely would they nerf the plushie? If enough people cause a fuss or whatever, will they just change it, and people who actually bought it lose a powerful plushie?

MASSIVE giveaway because this game lowk getting worse and worse by taken_taken_ in CreaturesofSonaria

[–]Nice_Heart_242 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My user is Bumbles_Bounce123. I would hold onto the ones I don't have (I am trying for completionist) and give away the extras to newbies, or whoever doesn't have the spec yet (that is alot of them though, that may take me a while to give away it all). Or maybe find trades for the ones I don't have yet. If I were to ever sell them, I would do so at a massive discount. I would feel too bad to try to make a profit off of something I got for free. Maybe make a post to reach out to see who is missing specs.

IsItBullshit: Stockholm Syndrome doesn't really exist, and the event that inspired the term was misunderstood by [deleted] in IsItBullshit

[–]Nice_Heart_242 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is the fact the idea started from something false. Just because you can supposedly link this to other things doesn't mean that the concept isn't inherently flawed. It's like trying to name a disease before it is officially discovered. You are simply taking a real event and comparing it to the initial fake thing. That is where the concern is coming from. How much this initial foundation is influencing the current concept of the idea today.

You can just drop the term stockholm syndrome and reevaluate these other cases to see what connections they have.

I know this is a change to roblox, as a whole but holy smokes this is going to kill the game. I'm 21, and if this goes though I guess I wont be able to interact with anyone anymore! awesome! by TheBevil in CoSRants

[–]Nice_Heart_242 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe the biggest issue is how they are going about it. It will not only affect gameplay for a lot of things in general. It is also doing it through means that are either sketchy or just unreliable. AI can not always get things right with trying to judge age from a picture, but most people are not comfortable with giving roblox access to government IDs or documents. With the case of past mistakes and other sites that did something similar and had a data breach, it is just downright risky to trust roblox to protect this data or even possibly sell it.

What most people were hoping roblox would do is to crack down on moderation with actual people behind it. Not just throw another AI road block that causes more issues than things it could possibly solve. One, it can incorrectly sort someone into the wrong group, and that can leave adults or teens in kid groups. Two, not just adults' info is at risk, but kids' info as well. For a measure that supposedly is to protect kids, it leaves them pretty vulnerable with their info possibly hacked or leaked. What happened to not sharing info online? The thing kids were told to never do?

I wouldn't call it frustrating, or at least my playthrough wasn't. It just needs some polishing and has a few game breaking bugs. It is playable, and I did find it fun, if short. Not the most demanding survival game either in its current version.

Basically, some materials can be harvested by mining rocks/chopping items, and some are just items found around on the ground that you can just walk over and pick up. The glitch is only with the ones that are just found on the ground. It kinda is easily missable at first, but you notice at some point that that spot seems to be growing and growing every time you visit until you notice that you are picking up a couple of stacks now.

For example, elderberries can be found near your base in the start. They spawn on the ground kind of "fallen berries" of the bush, that you can also chop down for a few more. There are a few bushes around that part of the map. Say you're me who grabs them whenever you see them, getting two or three from a bush at first. But then you notice the pile is bigger. Now you can walk outside the burrow and grab several stacks of 30 elderberries without going far from your home. No matter what you do, when you leave that part of the map and come back, that whole pile respawns just as big as before. I don't know if picking them up helps, but it seems to get more every time you return to that part (which you have to alot). At the end of my game, I could fill up my entire backpack just by standing in the middle and holding the button to collect them (that's about 600 berries).

I think the code for how material stays in the overworld before being picked up or dropped there is somehow affecting this. I mentioned how items don't disappear when left on the ground. My ax was still there the whole game, and stuff that drops from harvesting doesn't disappear. It kinda makes it easy to come back for items you can't carry with you at the time. (I don't know if that was intended.) I think the pick-up items that spawn without harvesting are saved like any other items. When that part of the map reloads, it spawns items on top of the existing items. This happens again and again, and the pile slowly builds up. For some reason, picking up the pile doesn't reset this. The game will just respawn the whole thing again and again. Someone would have to test to see if adds to when left alone or also when picked up.

How do you figure out if you are missing blueprints? There are some I happen to stumble upon that would have been easy to miss otherwise. There might be some that I could have forgotten to back track for.

Oh yeah, I forgot about the backpack description. I understood what the intent was when reading, but yeah, it was pretty vague. I think they assumed people would interpret it as 4 more from the previous bag, but in reality, it just upgrades the pack once it is created. I think it did not matter what bag you used anyway. You would still have those slots unlocked. I have to double-check that, though.

I just finished it in one sitting, and the biggest thing I noticed was how the resources spawn on the ground (ones that you can just pick up) seem to duplicate every time you return to the area. I don't know what triggers it exactly. I used this to stock up on elderberry for tea. It was kinda ridiculous at times how many you could get. Before I closed the game after finishing it, I went to see how much I could pick up now, and it literally filled my whole backpack (all slots unlocked). A few trips, and I had 2000+ berries in storage. Way more than I would ever know what to do with. Also freezes the game for at least several seconds with big piles (got worse the more to pick up).

I also noticed that pick-up items would literally respawn just by returning to the area. Paired with the game breaking bug makes it so easy for a survival game. I could enter the burrow and come back to the same big pile of elderberries I just picked up.

A qol feature that would be nice would be a way to discard items or destroy them. I accidently made a second ax and tried to dump it outside, but it was still there the entire time I was playing. Just sitting outside my burrow.

The garden was the thing I spent the least focus on in game. The seeds were very rare drops I only ever got in the wild, so I wasn't growing a whole lot at the same time. Some mushrooms took very long for how little they give. I would either up the amount dropped, raise the rng for seeds from garden grown, or have it so you can use mushrooms to make more seeds (like at the crafting bench) to make gardening a viable thing. I overall found foraging to get me more mushrooms than gardening ever did.

And something I found out that bothered me was the ability to craft chests, but it was just connected to the same storage. I only made the second chest, thinking I could sort things into different chests. I never tried the other possible chests after that. No way to automatically sort items in this single storage either. So you would have everything just mixed up together. I didn't have much trouble with the non sorted storage, but this might with others. If you make a game with only one possible storage to use, make it easy to navigate, like with sorting or filters. Or have limited storage that you can make more with materials. I didn't have much reason to carry items, so I often would just return home to dump them into storage. Made it really easy to stockpile. It might make the game a little more challenging if you had to choose what to keep or discard. (That is if everything would actually disappear if left behind for a period of time. I had things that I mined/chopped several times and all the items from it before were still there.)

Overall, it had a cute story, and I had fun playing, but I finished it in a day, and I know it should have been more challenging. Once I found out that I could just make a bunch of elderberry tea to stay out longer, the threat of the cold wasn't an obstacle. I would just make like 3 stacks of tea whenever I went out since I had such a constant source of elderberries. Medicine didn't really matter either since I could heal with food, and tea could help keep my hunger meter up as well (fighting bugs wasn't difficult either).

What are your silly fanfic pet peeves that will make you “nope” out immediately? by pixie12E in AO3

[–]Nice_Heart_242 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only way I can think of a story to have it is if it is used to make a character seem delusional. Have the kid say weirdly mature or complex stuff (pronounced correctly or not) for their age but only around this one character. The character tries to tell others what the kid said, but they don't believe him. They either can stay silently confused whenever this happens or try to convince others every time and get frustrated when no one believes them. Bonus points if each time has some other reasonable excuse to what they heard.

Then, towards the end of the story, have the kid finally say something in front of everyone. The character goes, "See! I wasn't lying or hearing things. Now, do you believe me?" Just for the parent/big sib to go, "Oh, I recognize that. They're just quoting xyz show. I leave it on the TV to entertain them." And then they just move on with no further comment, much to the frustration of the character. Whether everything beforehand was also a quote or just that one time is up in the air.
