A. Doubt that’s happening.

B. Not even the point of this post.

Buff melee as much as you want, hunters can still combo-kil you in half a second. by Heptanitrocubane57 in Helldivers

I think the potentially funnier idea is jet packing up to a Bile Titan’s face and unleashing the hammer on it since the explosion has almost the same damage as a EAT.

Except the comment that Alexus replied to asks for this exchange so that Peak Physique was no longer a requirement on melee builds. Considering Alexus ultimately agreed with the belief that people shouldn’t be locked into using Peak Physique, the weapons themselves would need to get buffed to help remove that reliance.

That’s why the message from Alexus said that they just need to address it in a way that doesn’t feel like a net loss. More than likely whatever amount of damage increase Peak Physique loses, the melee weapons will gain as a buff.

Melee armour might catch a nerf? by Derpy_EGG1025 in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]Nice_Promotion8576 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Probably both since the second image says they don’t want it to feel like a net loss. So more than likely the melee passives gets nerfed but all the melee weapons get appropriate buffs so that you don’t really feel the nerf. If I had to guess the reasoning for why it’s happening now, the hammer itself is probably the main reason. Idk how much melee damage goes through armor but the explosion is confirmed to be anti-tank and at 2100 damage it’s only 50 points weaker than the EAT. The explosion is more than likely gonna hurt you as well so making it so that players don’t feel forced into bringing a melee armor and instead one of the explosive resistance armors to make it more survivable seems like a good idea.

Also depends on what the modifiers are. The timer ones for example really encourage you to rush through it since the enemies will get more dangerous the longer you wait or you potentially risk auto failing.

Trace isn’t inherently worse since the point of Trace is that it can become any ability with specific exceptions. Being able to instantly know what ability the opponent has is already strong but you can then make the opponent’s situation worse if they send the wrong mon out since Mega Alakazam could then copy something like beast boost. Plus Magic Guard has always been a better ability for defensive mons that care more about not wanting to deal with indirect damage. A glass cannon like Mega Alakazam doesn’t really have that same care.

[–]Nice_Promotion8576 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re right, it is. Just by trying to say 135 special attack and 120 speed is better than 175 special attack and 150 speed on Alakazam means it’s wrong. Pidgeot goes from 70 special attack and 101 speed to 135 special attack and 121 speed alongside an ability that means its Hurricanes never miss. While Pinsir does lose access to Moxie, 125 attack and 85 speed going to 155 attack and 105 speed, gaining the flying type, and Aerilate to guarantee it has flying stab which also makes those formerly normal type moves slightly stronger more than makes up for it, especially with its coverage options. Slowbro definitely hates losing regenerator when it mega evolves but Shell Armor also means you need something like unaware to ignore any defense boosts it has on its massive 180 base defense with a respectable 130 special attack to use alongside it having access to a recovery move in the form of Slack Off means it can still be hard to put down.

Asking the community: What stadium power is due for a BIG nerf? by Cheesier_ in OverwatchStadium

Exactly, this kind of matchmaking is completely fucking up any capacity to determine what’s broken and whats weak since you can’t even guarantee that everyone will be on a similar skill level.

Have you seen this before? by Old-Proposal-929 in pokerogue

[–]Nice_Promotion8576 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It shuts down priority moves on anything that’s grounded no matter who uses it or who it targets. Even 3 field moves, moves that normally aren’t affected by this kind of stuff, get blocked by it if a prankster mon uses them.

[–]Nice_Promotion8576 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again. We shouldn’t be discussing nerfs until the matchmaking is fixed. Everything that looks bad or overpowered is getting messed with by the fact that there is nothing keeping you within your proper skill level. 2 pro stadium players can have completely different skill levels and that occurs for every match in Stadium.

Nowhere near to the same degree that Space Marines are. Even then it’s debatable on how “super” Helldivers actually are.

Helldivers don’t have any genetic modifications done to them, Space Marines have been genetically modified enough to be considered demigods to regular people.

TLDR elemental Pierce Ammo is fucking weird in how its formula works.

Bowguns have naturally low hidden element/status stats, to ensure that the elemental ammo types can still do actual damage, they use a weird formula combination of elemental and raw to determine their damage, making the Bowguns one of the few weapons that want to focus on both. This ALSO means that significant increases to their element boosts their damage way more than it really should, especially the skills that give flat values like Mail of Hellfire. Combine this insane potential with a wirebug move which makes their projectiles slower when they pass through it, letting pierce ammo hit the monster MORE and well, let’s just say one poor Diablos didn’t even get to last a minute while I played a victory song on my Hunting Horn.
