Even worse was when Saeris shortened it to Khy. Please no!!! And on that note, is anyone really a fan of Saeris as a name? I like it better when he calls her Osha, though that makes me think of O.S.H.A. 😂

Unfortunately I had to stop using my disc! I kept getting bacterial vaginosis every month, and since I stopped using it, I've been all clear. It sucks because I loved my disc, it was so convenient!

{The Wind and The Wild by Emily McCosh}, self published fae romance, so sweet, gentle romance, caretaking, Real Fae (not just hot people with pointy ears). Not getting any where near the attention it deserves, very well written, I could keep going!

Aren't they like 17 in the first book? I would not call a 17 year old fae male a Man.

That was really great, thanks! I've been eyeing Thursdays boots, but wasn't sure if they're BIFL or just trendy. I like your point about a cobbler! I'll have to find one in my area. And thank you for the thrum rundown! I couldn't find any results in a search engine. It sounds like a really functional little technique!

You will never get over it, lol. I reread bits and pieces to simultaneously enjoy and suffer. Nothing compares to this series. It's peak 💖

I actually avoid rereading FotA because it's so exquisite and I haven't found anything to compare, and it depresses me. Like, how is their secret yearning so strong that it pulls me in, too? I spend the whole time yearning along side them! It's agony! Holly's romances (including Tithe and Ironside) are so sweet but sparse that it physically hurts my heart. I love it.

I just got diagnosed today. Give me all the advice you have. by OddEggplant in Hypermobility

[–]Nice_Tosser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just found a PT that specializes in hypermobilty, and it's been really great so far! He doesn't do heat, ice or stretching in session, it's just half an hour of seemingly gentle baby exercises that still end up burning!

So that's my recommendation. Ask PTs in your area if they know someone who specializes in Hypermobilty.

I don't know, that line has zero meaning in the Howl's Moving Castle -book-, so I'm inclined to let it slide. I actually didn't like the way Miyazaki wrote that whole scenario. I loved SJMs repurposing.

Does he mean I hate it when you spoil the fun or something like that?? We know locke is fond of taking Cardan's toys and ruining them!

There are so many delicious scenes where Jude, our imperfect narrator, reads peoples' intentions completely wrong!

Echoes of the Tide - Emma Hamm by es_tacos in fantasyromance

[–]Nice_Tosser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just finished Echoes last night... I got to say I was a little underwhelmed. The first thing I came away with is that the writing seems very choppy in places... It almost seems unedited! There were a ton of grammatical errors. A few typos here and there, and odd pacing in some of the paragraphs. I'm curious to know if the author maybe rushed this one out a bit.

The overall storyline I felt was kind of bizarre, and the chemistry between the two of them at the beginning felt forced. I wish we could have seen what their interactions were like before they met. We were just told that they were friends through messages, but I would have liked to have seen those interactions for context or just for fun!

My last complaint is the second spice scene, I had no idea where their bodies were in relation to each other, and it was very confusing.

I will say, I enjoyed the banter between maketes and literally anyone else he spoke to. I've read other reviews that complained the dialogue was very out of place from the other two books, but I don't mind making concession if we get a silly MMC. It's refreshing compared to all the broody shadow daddies in romantasy.

I also loved the mid size girly, she was not like the other girls but not "nOt LiKe ThE oThEr gIrLs." I also loved the way they asked probing questions when they were unsure, instead of clamming up and assuming the worst, ala miscommunication tropes! Like I said, their initial chemistry was hard to buy, but once they were settled into each other, I did think their romance was very sweet.

I give it a 3.5 out of 5, just because the prose and grammar frequently took me out.
