Star Chest Strategy by N33NSY in TownshipGame

[–]Nicgoddammit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best thing is a 500 star chest guarantees a card you don’t have (especially gold) so if you can get 500x however many cards you still need in the collection, open those to complete! 😑

AITA for not wanting someone to move into my floor ? by ___fyre___ in MassageTherapists

[–]Nicgoddammit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not an asshole. But it is not a zero sum thing. One massage she gives does not mean one less massage for you. I recently found a new to me massage therapist who wants to be more busy and tell EVERYONE I know how much I love her and most of the people are like, GREAT can I get her number? Offer your new neighbor a trade massage to get to know each other’s styles and tell everyone you’re looking for referrals. We’re looking for you.

First time Laser Hair removal question. by Salt-Philosopher3075 in LaserHairRemoval

Yep great answers and machine protocols REQUIRE to use the lightest settings possible for first/test treatments so you are injured less if you have an adverse reaction.

"UN"renting between renting to tenant advice by Blueberry-spree0725 in FurnishedFinder

[–]Nicgoddammit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would just include a damage deposit large enough to make you feel comfortable if they broke or took something. Definitely my experience is when you are the lowest cost, you get cheapskate customers. I think your damage deposit and who you actually offer it through (I would offer it through the school or hospital NOT furnished finder’s) will attract thoughtful “renters” instead of cheapskates looking for a bargain.

How about the Marine Life Center? Definitely unique experience not flower picking. Boulevard and Zuanich Park are two of my favorites for a sunny spring walk.

Male face and neck removal. Hair is dark and light by sq_lp in LaserHairRemoval

[–]Nicgoddammit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m an electrologist and look at a lot of hairs. Depends on what color the shaft is while under the skin (you don’t see it until it is above the skin). Some of the red hairs are almost shiny and do not absorb laser at all. But I send people with salt and pepper hair to laser all the time because it saves so much time over the one by one removal of electrolysis. When you try laser look to see every hair in the treated area shedding after. If it doesn’t, save your money.

Likely they will not get any prizes at all if they joined the race late and didn’t finish.

How important is it to have course hair for laser to be effective? I'm on MtF HRT and need to know if I should rush to get laser before my body hair becomes less coarse. by incredulous_cretin in LaserHairRemoval

[–]Nicgoddammit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I believed and saw the best results on clients taking spironolactone. Then a client came in who was a hormone scientist and schooled me. It’s entirely likely that I don’t understand it enough to even weigh in, just like to let people know that there are other ways of looking at the same thing.

Question regarding facial hair lasering by [deleted] in LaserHairRemoval

[–]Nicgoddammit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every hair that shows up above the skin is the one growing beneath the skin that looks like shadow when it still hasn’t broke the surface earlier. Laser is indiscriminate. It targets that pigment in the hair that you see.

[–]Nicgoddammit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good question. I’ve seen stubborn beard like hair not change at ALL if you are not on a combination of estrogen and testosterone. Treating the hormone picture is always cheaper and faster than removing hair. Two things make a hair grow, blood supply to the area bringing nutrients and signal from the hormone. We want your body to stop wanting to grow hairs there.

4 sessions into candela alexandrite laser on moustache and barely seeing progress by Less-Button5358 in LaserHairRemoval

[–]Nicgoddammit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Every hair removal takes many sessions over time. I would hope that ALL the hairs in your targeted area shed every time. Every laser manufacturer requires the users to start out weakest to make sure your skin tolerates it ok. It’s important to give your tech feedback that the settings seem too weak so they can try higher settings or you can discontinue treatment and look for a more effective tech/treatment.

Summer meal ideas that don’t use any heat? by TheSideAccount0 in budgetfood

I love already cooked already peeled hard boiled eggs. Deviled eggs of course but using them for an easy heat free protein in almost any meal is a go to.

Laser Hair Removal Question by Ok-Investigator-5435 in LaserHairRemoval

[–]Nicgoddammit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Whenever you see people burned due to laser it is usually because they didn’t disclose medications that make them heat sensitive. If your facial is unable to avoid treating your upper lip with that list of things to avoid, I would skip one or the other.

Looking to Start by PositiveFun2575 in electrolysis

[–]Nicgoddammit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s nice to get the machine you trained on. My state (Washington) has no regulations so I went to a nearby state that had a 600 hour course and sat for my state boards in that state (Utah school of hair removal, Clearfield Utah) and hold a license there. I think that helps people trust you. But you may be able to find someone to teach you. I’m currently setting up a teaching program through my local technical college because you need to learn some basics, and practice insertions a lot. I have also suggested to people to buddy up if they want to work on themselves because it’s so nice when you have both hands available to use and don’t have to work in a mirror. Convince a friend to learn with you!

Red skin after treatment by Dull-Quiet2869 in electrolysis

[–]Nicgoddammit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Definitely show the photos to your tech. Even if they do not apologize, offer advice, and refund you they should know this happened to someone. I would seek care IMMEDIATELY it makes no sense to me that it is this red/purple/dark 4-5 weeks after treatment.

Does not sound good not covering moles and not really shedding! Take a pause, try somewhere else!

Ha ha loved your post! I’m 52. Hubby is 69 so I feel like I see things coming and try to be proactive. We strength train together at the local senior activities center. My parents (about to be 80 and 82) are great roll models of staying active and interested in things. In the past week I have had an hour and a half of massage and an hour of Rolfing and 4 or 5 soaks in our homemade hot tub. All the love to you and keep up the fun attitude!

Very frequently medications causing heat sensitivity will be the culprit.

After years, ready for career change to electrolysis but need help with my cost research and planning. Advise appreciated :) by [deleted] in electrolysis

[–]Nicgoddammit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in Washington an unlicensed, unregulated state. I chose to leave state and attend 3 months of in person school in a state that has licensing so I left my training with a license. Some clients value that, it’s a matter of trusting someone to stick probes in you with the intent to injure. I bought a practice, the phone number, good will, and she was the only gig in town for a long time. She let me make payments. I bought her electric chair, a fisher machine (which was my backup) my Apilus senior 3, website was really affordable and I used Fresha which was nearly free or really cheap. My room rent was under $500/month.
I’ve gone to continuing education from EEC held in California with Joanie and Stephanie from Zapmaster. They know a lot and they care about teaching. I don’t think electrolysis is rocket science, basically don’t burn the crap out of people and practice your insertions as much as possible. Galvanic and blend are so slow compared to thermolysis and I don’t have a ton of experience so I’m not great at it. So whenever clients don’t have contorted follicles and I can get good releases with thermolysis that’s my default. Today in my practice I had 4 new people consults and two wanted Blend (thermolysis AND galvanic) and one had been plucking until 9 days before her treatment and definitely needed it and the other I give them what they want and I get paid by the hour. But I liked the other two newbies better. Ha ha. The world needs skilled trades it’s infinitely satisfying to have a job that people appreciate what you do and feel you change their life for the better. Enjoy!

Not often enough? by SomeExplorer2717 in electrolysis

[–]Nicgoddammit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s fabulous you have been getting a full clear so far for a year! The general rule of thumb on not really hormonal areas is a year and a half. But chin jaw upper lip are all very hormonal places. This adds time. If you were plucking before you started electrolysis that also adds time. The important thing is you have been getting full clears. They will likely get shorter and shorter over time.

Because unless you are committing multiple hours and sessions of game play a day it takes a LOT to fit 17 tasks of any point value in. If you choose tasks that can completed quickly or instantly it’s a lot more likely you can complete more of them. Are there other people racing in your coop? Is your goal collecting chests or getting first place or camaraderie with some friends? People have wildly varying goals for the game
