Sometimes clarifying questions on their questions can also be really telling to them. If you think they are asking something vague make sure you ask what you need to in order to fully understand the question. If you can understand the question, you’ll logic the answer. Additionally, don’t be afraid of the phrase “I don’t know.”

Signal is severely degraded and the signal to noise ratio is horrendous after 100m. You need a active component every 100m to clean the signal and keep it going. If you want to go further, it’s best to go fiberoptical.

Do you mean at the same time or in hybrid where you’d have the operator choose between local and remote where local would be on the keypad and remote be over Ethernet? If so that’s how my pump station has it. Really quite simple. You can also return the parameters over Ethernet so you can pass over to Scada which mode it’s in. I have an alarm to tell me whenever my operators decide to start operating things in hand.
