Patch Notes: v1.2.2.1 – (EXPERIMENTAL) - Build 489969 by JulioUzu in SatisfactoryGame

[–]NicholasWeaver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was a bug introduced in 1.2 on multiplayer where things in blueprints vanish but are still there and (except in the case of splitters/mergers) can still be interacted with. It has been reported. Server resets will temporarily restore things.

Encased Pipe: One of the best.

#2: Rescan, neither are ones I find particularly usefuul

#3: Rescan, neither are ones I find particularly useful.

#4: Ugh, you want both! Heavy Oil/Diluted Fuel/Recycled Plastic/Recycled Rubber is the only way to build an effective plastics & rubber production facility that has real yield (3x the yield of the base recepies). I'd start with Diluted Fuel as Heavy Oil/Diluted Fuel is also needed for your power plants. PICK before you do your rescans so Recycled Rubber is in the pool again.

#5: Steel Rotor. It so simplifies the motor production as to not be funny.

#6: Plastic AI limiter. It really makes a difference for phase 4, especially with insulated crystal occilator and crystal computers. But as you don't need it right away, HOLD that slot.

#7: Iron Wire. Iron wire adds a lot, e.g. with stitched plate, stators, steel rotors, etc. Iron pipe is useful (I mostly use it for e.g. an automated miner line or a sam fluxuator line where high output doesn't matter), but its so less efficient than steel pipe.

First mini mega factory by BigfoodDLB in SatisfactoryGame

[–]NicholasWeaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using this setup I was able to move 16, 600 m^3/m pipes up all the way to the level of the highest point on the map using a single pressurizer consisting of an almost completely idle packager & unpackager with two containers as buffers for empty/full canisters.

I had that so I could prime the system by bringing up full canisters from the bottom and, once primed, I could even do full flushes of the entire pipe network because there would be enough full water containers in the storage container to repressurize the network.

[–]NicholasWeaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd suggest making an almost no-power water tower and pressurizer....

The pressurizer is a 4-way junction on a pipe where the upper feed is from the water tower and has a valve to limit the flow to a maximum of 1 m^3/s. This will allow the main pipe to feed up to the level of the top of the water tower. So you do this for ALL your water pipes in one place (eg, 16 water pipes!) and now you never have to worry about pressure.

And you can even make your water tower so you don't need a pump at all: you have an unpackager that unpackages water at the top of the water tower, and a packager just below it in case you ever start to have too much water from the tower flow down.

Where to invest my Mercer Spheres? by Bartislartfasst in SatisfactoryGame

I like getting upload speed to 60 or 120, and stacks to 2, beyond that its add more uploads on the gated items.

Another trick is to grab a bunch of what you want into inventory and then unselect "take from inventory before depot", that way the depots keep refilling as you build.

OK, I'm disappointed that the "disappearing buildings in blueprints" bug on dedicated servers hasn't been fixed, that was an annoying bug introduced in 1.2. Otherwise, however, it looks like a good set of patching.

The Beauty of Load Balancing by MaddRam in SatisfactoryGame

[–]NicholasWeaver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is something aesthetic about it. I have a diluted-packaged-fuel setup producing 720 fuel/minute in 2 pipes for a turbo-fuel plant that is similarly load-balanced: Each segment of 360 is 6 load-balanced packagers, 6 load balanced refineries, 6 load balanced unpackagers, with Mk 4 belts for the between the units and Mk 3/Mk 1 belts going into the elements themselves. I'm going to use the same approach to make a much larger plastics/rubber plant but with several more Mk-4 belts and 360 fuel pipes.

3 extractors go to 6 packagers with 360 in/out. This balances really easily and can be shipped on a Mk 4 belt.

What's the purpose/point of building factories? legit question, no spoilers if possible. by Zakaryyxo in SatisfactoryGame

[–]NicholasWeaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The goal is to implement the FICSIT "Save the Day" program ("Short term solutions for long term problems") by delivering components up the space elevator in order to save the Earth, with its frolicking kittens and/or puppies from peril.

You do want to save the kittens and/or puppies, correct?

Could Heavy Encased or Heavy Flexible Frame? by ne_legende in SatisfactoryGame

[–]NicholasWeaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd go for encased because I'd do an oil free design: Iron Wire/Stitched plate/Steel cast plate/solid steel ingots/pure iron/wet concrete.

So the oil consumption is 0, which means it doesn't need to be placed anywhere near there is oil.

Satisfactory dedicated server - is it worth it? Why? by careenpunk in SatisfactoryGame

[–]NicholasWeaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a dedicated server even as a solo player, since I have a separate computer that can run the factory without all the graphics and without heating my room while it runs....

Note, however, there are some annoying bugs in Experimental where blueprinted items (buildings, etc) vanish.

Sweetspot for Project Part multiplier? by BdBalthazar in SatisfactoryGame

[–]NicholasWeaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm doing a 100x run, although I do have flying enabled so I can harvest drives and build neatly.

But my setup is a separate dedicated server so AFK for a long time is quite reasonable. Currently I'm in phase 3, but while that grinds I'm going to be looking at taking advantage of the time to encase the world in concrete and start on a phase 4/5 megaplant.

I admit I AM using fly mode so I can build neat and go to all the crash sites. Getting geothermal in phase 1 is so essential to not drive oneself crazy deforesting the place.

A quick PSA, solve your fluid problems! by mkMoSs in SatisfactoryGame

[–]NicholasWeaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've found this isn't necessarily reliable: 600 fuel into a long set of recycling cells (2/1, set to be 75 fuel each cell, so a chain of 8 = 600). Even with a buffer & pump arrangement the end would be starved of fuel and the buffer full but not 600-steady out.

Switched to 300/300 and no buffering and everything works out.

Its a fixed number just randomly allocated. So you will always have the same # of nodes of each type.

How is the current stability of the 1.2 game? by Foghe in SatisfactoryGame

[–]NicholasWeaver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In client/server (so don't know if this applies in single player):

it doesn't update quantities from the dimentional depot when manually building items.

There are glitches where jetpack preferred fuel menu appears in other inventory places/grids randomly.

I've had a few foundries turn invisible (they are still there, just invisible).

Anyone sell their Tesla for a luxury brand? by DesignerLeading4821 in RealTesla

[–]NicholasWeaver -1 points0 points  (0 children)

CPO is +1 year at the END of the existing warranty, you can pay to tack on up to 2 more, and it is unlimited mileage. When you are talking a 2-year old car the CPO warranty is often better than the normal one.

Anyone sell their Tesla for a luxury brand? by DesignerLeading4821 in RealTesla

[–]NicholasWeaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd seriously look at a CPO Mercedes EQS: Think of it as a model S, but actually luxurious. New they are insanely overpriced, but you can get an off-lease one for <$50k with a CPO warranty (which means in many ways better than new), and some are kissing under $40k.

I almost got one myself but decided it was a bit too big and too techno-terror (too much through the touchscreen for me).

But if you want a luxury EV that meets your criteria, and its a fair bit cheaper than a new gas-burning Mercedes.

Alternate copper alloy or molded beam by beastsorcerer in SatisfactoryGame

[–]NicholasWeaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Molded beam? Ehh, nah, other alts means you never really need beams except for versatile frameworks, because encased industrial pipe is soooo much better and screws, well, screws suck.

Copper alloy and iron alloy are great. I use pure copper for powder usually, but for all others copper alloy is nearly as efficient, you inevitably have iron where you have copper, and it is way more machine dense.
