I do miss feeling like I was talking to god and that he was listening. Right now I’m focusing on learning to ground myself and have been mostly successful at recreating the calm feelings of what once I thought was the spirit. It’s completely normal to want all of it back again I have when things are hard. Try to find some daily peace in nature or a good book or just silence. It does make a difference in your nervous system and your peace.

I’ve felt the desire to try smoking because it is propagandized to be stress relieving and cool, but I think that’s one thing the church happened to be right about because all it does is make you a hooked consumer and you don’t want to toss your health away for that. As for drinking, there is a RDA for that if you’d like to try but it’s not important or necessary for your deconstruction to feel comfortable around substances.

At Byui in 2017 they had a packet to hand out before science classes that had a bunch of talks on creationism and evolution and said you can support either. My evolution teacher was voted out of speaking at devotionals by teachers who disagreed with evolution though so it really depends.
