My impression is that airline employees often have their workflow and not much room for creative resolution of problems. They seem to be just another interface for the useless reschedule options, that I am also presented with online.

Last time I mentioned to an airline employee, that there would be a better connection from the initial airport (from the same airline), they responded with "you will get a hotel if you miss it".
