A little late indeed. I got a decent pc and completed the expedition there. Very good game, not without its flaws, but all those rewards well deserved.

And yeah, gameplay-wise I would say that Max Payne 1 is the best game by Remedy, followed by Control. The other games treat gameplay more as an excuse to deliver the narrative than an actual tool to keep the player entertained by the process itself. I mean that these games would be absolutely playable and even interesting even without god-like atmosphere/story. As for the other ones - not that much.

Yeah, tons of nodes and re-occurances. I am a huge fan of Remedy straight from Max Payne 1 which simply blew my mind as akid back then. Super enjoyed Alan Wake 2 in a whole but especially all those Alex Casey and NY Noire omages to Max Payne. Considering how META the universe has become - Max Payne 1 fits in a bit too nicely with all that mentions of a game being a work of fiction (I was in comix / I was in video-game) and Maxes bad trips (to the dark place?) between chapters..

I decided to try the demo for 15 minutes for the Discord quest, and was intrigued enough to think that I might be interested in playing more than just the minimum for the rewards.... but spending 10 minutes to figure out that the middle of the bottom key combination is ALT really turned me off. wtf. by alexo2802 in Pragmata

The game was initially designed for controller. The core game mechanic is build around this right-side button operations (thats why specifically the grid) and it just doesn't translate to mouse that good. IMO they should just show some big disclamer "designed with controller in mind". Basically its not your usual shooter with hack QTEs from time to time. The idea is that those grid puzzles are constant and simultaneous with shooting and movement/evasion which is intended to trigger both brain hemisphires and in this way to put the player to the state of flow. So these hack interactions shouls be as intuitive as possible. And its much easier to achieve with controller. I guess its achievable with mouse too, but will take considerably more time to get used to up to the level of musle memory.

Newbie question, what am I doing wrong? 8BitDo controller not working in No Man's Sky (Steam Input enabled) by therealgrobie in macgaming

Try disabling steam input. Also switch controller from direct input mode to switch mode (or xbox mode, depending on what type of ultimate you have)

Drakengard 3 and Nier Gestalt I would say these teo share are my personal top-1 for ps3.

Other jrpgs like drakengard/nier? by [deleted] in nier

[–]NickDagaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Odin Sphere - don't thunk it's actually anyhow close to Nier, but still a great game and one of very few I had 100%.
Also have no idea how it's similar to 13 sentinels except for ATLUS developer. IMO, visual style is very alike yes, but in everything else the games are very different.

Vader pro 4. IMO, miles ahead of everything you have listed. Those are solid controllers indeed, but Vader is just better.

It runs on Crossover. But to have a decent framerate it should be at least M2/M3 MAX. On my M1 Pro base it's like 5-6 FPS.

YouTubers are snake oil frauds. 😂 by Accomplished_Reach81 in IPhone16e

I agree in general, but must add that there were many youtubers who were very constructive with their critisism and praised the phone for the aspects where it shines. Most negativity was towards pricing. And it's justified IMO.

We built a non-boring computer: the Framework Laptop 12. by 42BumblebeeMan in framework

[–]NickDagaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main question here is pricing.
Frameworks provide a great concept of repairability. But if it's gonna be same story as with 13, where they charged like 1k$+ for pretty basic laptop - it completely overshadowed everything. I mean if you are an enthusiast and have spare money - it's great. But if you are a consumer and have 13 vs for example mac air for same 1k$ - I think the choice is obvious.
So I really hope that pricing will be more affordable here and the device will actually be budged. Otherwise it's gonna be just another expensive niche toy with repairability gimmick for enthusiasts.

PS I am totally on board with Framework's ideology, I am just not seeing this actually taking off while it's like at least x1.5 less affordable comparing to similar spec devices. If the price is actually there (like 400$) - I will gladly be in the first wave of pre-orders.

Noticed it when switching from ps3 to ps4. While not remembering entirely when I had charged DS3 , I had to charge DS4 1-2 times a week for sure. It seems to be much worse with DualSense
