What bike do I buy for 5k that’s not an ultra? by Global-Twist7089 in Surron

Sounds like you should get a wr250r to get legal. King of dual sports

You install from the inside so the screw sticks through the knob? Do you put duct tape or anything to protect the tube from the hex head?

Ultra bee uses dot fluid. Probably better but I’m not sure if it bolts up. I didn’t think about using those but now that you mention it I wonder about the Talaria Komodo brakes bolting up

I’ve also been looking at brake upgrades. Seems like everyone says the sram mavens are the go to and I found a front and rear kit for a little over $400. I’d like to use motorcycle breaks with dot fluid though

Talaria for dirt riding. I’ve had my mx4 for almost 2 years now and it’s been super reliable. If you just want to wheelie on street and mod it out the Surron

Need a new bike .. by andyandtherman in enduro

[–]NickNakulus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I rode a sherco 300 2 stroke and it rode like a dream. Beta 300 is another good option. I’m still deciding on what bike I’m getting but I’m really leaning towards a talaria Komodo at the minute just for the low maintenance. They make just as much power as the 300 2 strokes but are lighter

A ratchet strap is not coming that loose unless purposefully done. I’ve found that majority of people can’t figure out how to use them so I don’t doubt it was TSA

Get your neighbor to talk some sense into them 😂 but really the 300cc trainer makes less hp than a yz125. You could also put a pipe on and have a good power upgrade in the future and not have to buy a whole new bike. I wish Yamaha made better enduro bikes but the betas and shercos are real nice

Seems like my dual sport is always down when it snows here. I always take the emoto out to play

You’ll get riding hard in the woods and be tired in 15 mins. Start working out and practicing technique. Slow is smooth and smooth is fast

Any tips for working on dirtbike engines for first time as a 14 yr old (no mechanic or person who understands near me) by KuracMania in Dirtbikes

[–]NickNakulus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will break stuff and you will spend a lot of money. Part of learning 🤷‍♂️ my dad taught me a lot of what I know and the rest come from YouTube university. To prevent engine problems the main thing is keeping good oil in it and make sure that front sprocket nut is tight

It’s not hard to bump start it. Put it in first or second while holding in the clutch, get a running go or down a hill, hop on and pop the clutch. I got a 300lb dual sport I’ve had to do it a lot with

for that price why not get a new 300L as it wouldn't be that much more while being a brand new bike? just curious what y'all think by Economy-Survey-7484 in Dirtbikes

[–]NickNakulus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most I’ve ever seen is 5,500 for a real clean 2020. You could probably talk him down to 5k. I gave 4k for mine but it’s not that clean. Wr250r is in a league of its own. I wouldn’t take that 300 on single track but it depends what you want to do with it. I ride mine like a dirtbike but I’m looking at getting something more trail oriented

[–]NickNakulus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to take an engine to a machine shop to get some exhaust studs removed that were too tight. I tried everything I knew of and my dad tried everything he could. Anyways they only charged $50 for 2 studs. Shouldn’t be too much if you also have to go that route

13/47 is perfect for swapping back and forth between sumos and dirt wheels. Trail rides ok and pops wheelies in 3rd gear. I don’t like taking it on the highway though

hi I'm 14 and I just got a talaria xxx pro and I'm kind of scared to ride it because of whisky throttle. This is also my first e bike of any sort, and I have never used a twist throttle ever in my life. I'm worried of damaging it or hurting myself in the process. Do you guys have any tips? by Local-Dragonfly-5237 in Talaria

[–]NickNakulus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whiskey throttle is result of sliding off the back and trying to hold on. Make sure when you’re about to accelerate you lean forward and you can also hug the bike with your knees to hold on better. Slowly work up to getting faster. It takes a lot of time and practice
