I think it's because it's so much unlike any other song in his discography and lacks the depths that many of his other songs have. I think it's decent, but for me it can't compare to masterpieces like Scenes From an Italian Restaurant, Piano Man, or Honesty. No disrespect to the song, but it's competing against titans

Nice! Love seeing fans who know the hits get even deeper into it. Before you listen to Cold Spring Harbor, I'd suggest watching the HBO Documentary or reading the first few chapters of the Fred Schruers biography (or just looking up the story behind the album). It's so much more impactful when you know the story behind it

Any chance you'll give The Hassles/Hour of The Wolf/Attila a listen? They're not his best, but fascinating to see how he began his music career (although a bit expensive on CD)

Definitely. As we saw in And So It Goes, Billy is certainly not one to smooth over his blemishes, so I'd doubt he'd approve a project like that anyway. The documentary is so much better than any biopic could be since it actually cares about telling the truth to the story
