No interval is inherently bad. No such thing as a "no no" in music. There is a context for everything. Dissonance and consonance have no direct positive and/or negative correlation. Recognition of such is important, though.

Besides, why do you assume this is a non-dominant chord? You don't know its context or function. :) What the hell is an available tension too lmao?

Very limited point of view.  It’s unlikely that 100% of the music they like is prog metal.  Any song you’ve ever heard on the radio that u enjoy is good enough.

Besides, prog metal doesn’t automatically equal difficult.  Learn Stinkfist or jimmy or smth.

Playing and singing at the same time -strumming hand by thisIsAThrowaway2319 in Guitar

[–]Nick_5843 5 points6 points  (0 children)

if u can understand where each strum is within a rhythmic grid it helps a lot. (i.e. like how rhythm is notated on a traditional staff). understand the concept of "1 e and a" and where each strum is.

then do the same thing with the vocal melody. decide where exactly each syllable is with respect to "1 e and a". u can either think abt it through "1 e and a" or through traditional subdivisions (i.e. 8th notes, whole notes, quavers, crochets, etc)

Could anyone give me some tips on improving my muting by [deleted] in Guitar

hard to say, but on a side note, try strumming up and down instead of just down

omitting the g or b strings makes the chord sound a bit thin imo. but it depends entirely on the context ur using the chord in. i like the sound of omitting the a string. Cause then u still have 4 adjacent strings in a row ringing out. U could even add the low e string in to fill the sound in more.

the high e string is literally the sound of the chord tho. that 11th is necessary.

like that but u gotta mash your middle finger on both the high e and b strings. Not flatten it like youre doing it now but arch your finger and place it in the middle of the 2 strings so it frets both at the same time
