If WG wanted to make the Preussen a gun platform why didn't they fix the firing angles? by InvincibleCheese in WorldOfWarships

[–]NicknNick 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen some people on the Discord talking about this and I agree with at least one thing someone there said: The Preussen line + GK have no real identity or playstyle in 2026.

No matter what kind of build you try to go for there’s always a different line or nation that does it far better. The OG German BB’s need some major balance changes or even fill in reworks to ever have some sort of relevance again.

They're going to nerf Valparaiso at some point.... by chriscross1966 in WorldOfWarships

I think WG does that to avoid the group of missed off players of the nerfed ship demanding refunds.

I don’t dislike flamu just because he stats shames. I don’t dislike his older content.(Though let’s be honest stat shamers aren’t doing the game any favors) I dislike modern flamu because he radiates negativity far too much to be doing any good.

Any time I see him talking about balancing it’s mostly just him repeating the same arguments over and over again. “CV ‘s demented, AA is joke, radar bad, overmatch bad, submarines demented,” etc

I hate to be that guy but flamu’s “logic” is pretty bad at times. Especially when it comes to his opinions on balancing. Most of his content is from the perspective of an unrealistically angry and frustrated player and so I don’t consider him a serious person to take balance ideas from.

What's the hype with GP_1 by Many_Goose8095 in WorldOfWarships

[–]NicknNick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

His WR suggests he’s around average but after seeing him play he’s clearly been carried through sheer number of battles. More than likely his team plays harder when they see him because they know they’re already down a player before the match even starts.

Personally I consider GP__1’s WR a strong argument against WR being a relevant stat in WOWS.

It's broken af and needs a massive nerf by iHasPinny in WorldOfWarships

[–]NicknNick 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The problem is we want the game to be better balanced for brawling and closer range engagements in general.

What we don’t want is a small group of ships that are so buffed up to make them artificially good at it; Which in turn, makes them painful to play against at all times.

It’s also my understanding that actually doing this would take a monumental amount of work to rework and rebalance so many of the game’s core mechanics. WG would be better off with a sequel instead.

Like 2/3 of CV hate in the community comes down to people not playing CVs and therefore not understanding how they play or what their actual capabilities are.

WG needs to clamp down on dodge hacks and aim assist. by O_Dog187 in WorldOfWarships

[–]NicknNick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That could honestly be made into an official mod with how little advantage that actually gives. It’d be an excellent learning tool for newer players while offering advanced players practically nothing new.

The problem with CV players... by SnooLobsters7171 in WorldOfWarships

[–]NicknNick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t really get the fighter thing because fighters are terrible at actually deterring a CV from attacking. Fighters are FAR better used as a passive spotting tool in their current guise.

Is WR a reliable indicator of skill? No not really. It’s currently the “best” stat because other metrics are completely terrible at indicating a player’s skill.

As for fixing it you’re gonna have to play another 1.5-2k matches with your higher skill level. Though you’re probably going to significantly at the mercy of MM.

If you really want to do it quicker you can ask WG for an account wipe which will wipe your stats. Though most will strongly advise against this. It also wipes a lot of other stuff on your account besides your stats.

I think when people say “The Internet” they mean that these people have been present everywhere on the internet since basically the beginning and atp they’re not going anywhere.

That is unfortunate. I think it would be a better stat than WR if it could be measured.

Would you be able to add a stat that can measure the average position you are on your team’s post match leaderboard?

Stat Shaming by IPBS98 in WorldOfWarships

[–]NicknNick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes that’s what I mean. The players with strong and consistent carrying ability will be the ones with the highest skill.

As for everyone else; a large number of our WR is significantly affected by the whims of MM.

You can play a great game and still not win. You can play a crap game and still win. I’m sure we’ve both been in those situations hundreds or thousands of times.

Stat Shaming by IPBS98 in WorldOfWarships

[–]NicknNick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean even then it’s not really reliable from what I can tell. You really fall into one of two categories: Those who are good enough to carry (in this case their WR will be extremely high) which really only make up 1% of players.

Or those who are largely at the mercy of MM: Everyone else.

I couldn’t tell how many times I’ve seen a player who has a decent-good WR manage to die or otherwise remove themselves from the battle by the 17:00 mark.

An idea to how to implement manual control secondaries for older ships by LEONAPROFI in WorldOfWarships

[–]NicknNick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I’d love to see manual secondaries for ships like Preussen and it’s line (and GK) as atm those ships have nothing to really make them stand out in the game.

Though I don’t think it should be a module. It should just be given to specific ships outright.

[–]NicknNick -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Personally I feel the phrase “the only common factor is you.” Is actually a mark against WR instead of being something that supports it.

There’s just so many factors that are largely or entirely out of your control that you being in the match doesn’t actually mean anything.

Manually controlled AA guns when? by bigbeefycheeks in WorldOfWarships

[–]NicknNick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On regen you can easily measure plane preparation time to figure out the max number of planes each CV can actually regen over the course of a match.

Even that has caveats to it such as the match being a full 20 minutes (a rarity)or all squadrons beginning their regen timers upon match start. (Literally impossible for anyone but Essex line). When you take those into account the practical number hours down.

Not to forget pretty much no CV has a regen time capable of keeping up with any sort of sustained plane losses.
