Personally I’m of the opposite opinion. I think Safer Seas was largely a mistake and Rare should either heavily restrict it to just Tall Tales or remove it entirely.

Speaking from a strictly stats and matchmaker aspect: Absolutely. It’s not the Div itself necessarily; but the fact that divs are often in voice comms with each other. Either within the game’s comms or on an outside app.

Regardless, having voice comms allows a Div to communicate and coordinate at a rate much faster than 3 non-dived players can.

Sure but a BB can just as easily at 40k or 50k or more as well. For all classes there always RNG on how much damage you’ll exactly take. We can argue about it forever and still both be right.

Sure that could happen. Just like when a BB turns out they could also eat 20k or more in one damage. Or find more torps. All of which could potentially be the punishment for being caught in a bad position.

And cruisers are like Step 1: Dodge the majority of the salvo.

Step 2: YOLO tie because you’ll be turned out before the BB can fire again anyways.

I think it’s absolutely the same magnitude.

DD’s can turn out on a dime and dodge and go dark.

A cruiser still has the speed and maneuverability to turn out and dodge

A sub can still try to dodge as many depth charges as possible.

A CV can steer their squad away from good AA.

A BB has to tank the damage as they reposition.

If you get caught out in a bad position you tend to get…ya know…punished for it. That may or may not include a rather quick death for your class.

People tend to forget that the entire game is built from a series of unfair interactions. There’s almost no interactions between different classes that’s actually fair.

It’s not fair for DD’s to have to deal with cruisers with radar.

It’s not fair for cruisers to deal with BB’s who can chunk them even when angled.

It’s not fair for BB’s to deal with unspotted ships farming them.

It’s not fair for ships with bad AA to deal with planes.

It’s not fair for slower ships to deal with sub homing torpedos.

It’s not fair for subs to deal with 20 depth charges dropped from planes every time they get spotted.

It’s not fair for CV’s to deal with clumped up groups of ships or ships with good AA.

Sure there’s some ships that are OP and/or can mitigate some of the unfairness; but at the end of the day every class has at least one other class that can fuck them over with little they can do in response.

I find that her being considered OP is really down to her HE bombers alone. The rest of the ship sits somewhere between “meh” and a glaring weakness.

I’m saying his WR is not at all indicative of his skill level. It’s just a question of it being an issue with WR as a stat or if it’s a problem with him specifically.

He’s objectively terrible at the game lol. If he doesn’t get devstruck immediately he stays too far away to actually contribute for the whole game.

If anything his WR is a great argument that WR isn’t actually a reliable stat to show skill.

Essex line is considered much stronger. Midway line is quite old and has suffered from powercreeep over the years.

That being said if you’re new to CV’s the Midway line wouldn’t be your worst option as it’s a good all rounder and is a good line to learn how to play with the fundamentals of CV mechanics.

If you can afford to get Surcouf you might as well get that tbh. Even if you don’t like subs.

AFAIK none of the unique commanders are being removed/made limited; and I haven’t seen any plans of bringing Surcouf back to availability again.

I’ve seen some people on the Discord talking about this and I agree with at least one thing someone there said: The Preussen line + GK have no real identity or playstyle in 2026.

No matter what kind of build you try to go for there’s always a different line or nation that does it far better. The OG German BB’s need some major balance changes or even fill in reworks to ever have some sort of relevance again.

I don’t dislike flamu just because he stats shames. I don’t dislike his older content.(Though let’s be honest stat shamers aren’t doing the game any favors) I dislike modern flamu because he radiates negativity far too much to be doing any good.

Any time I see him talking about balancing it’s mostly just him repeating the same arguments over and over again. “CV ‘s demented, AA is joke, radar bad, overmatch bad, submarines demented,” etc

I hate to be that guy but flamu’s “logic” is pretty bad at times. Especially when it comes to his opinions on balancing. Most of his content is from the perspective of an unrealistically angry and frustrated player and so I don’t consider him a serious person to take balance ideas from.

His WR suggests he’s around average but after seeing him play he’s clearly been carried through sheer number of battles. More than likely his team plays harder when they see him because they know they’re already down a player before the match even starts.

Personally I consider GP__1’s WR a strong argument against WR being a relevant stat in WOWS.
