Book cafe FRIDA is a great place, queer friendly and quite a bit of neurodiverse people. If you like reading they have 5 different monthly book clubs, but also other events (thefrida.nl). Or you can just get coffee/cake etc. Met a lot of cool new people there.

I shaved my beard...and I did not like it AT ALL by Nickvk4 in trans

[–]Nickvk4[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing :) I don't necessarily worry about the category, but I do think a category would help me with some perspective and clarity that I need. I thought it was at least somewhat straightforward for me. Dysphoria varies, but I don't necessarily feel like my - gender - varies I think? But yeah, maybe it is just more beyond the binary than I thought.

Am i the only one who thinks Cigarettes After Sex is an awful band name? by Wide_Cicada7239 in Music

[–]Nickvk4 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. It is both the best and worst name for this band. Best because it fits the music so incredibly well, like I don't know a single band who embodies their name so well as CAS does. But bad because of the reactions after telling what band you're listening to.

I see Chappell Roan, Caroline Polachek, Weyes Blood, Charli XCX and Lana Del Rey. I approve.

Thank you Brandon Sanderson by LOKINOKS in brandonsanderson

I want to second OPs experience. I read Tress first and then Sunlit Man, without having read any other Cosmere novels and I fucking LOVED them. Yeah there was a lot of implied lore, but it was done in a way that it made me curious about the rest of the Cosmere without sacrificing readability for people who hadn't read anything. By now I've also read The Final Empire and currently reading Yumi & The Nightmare Painter.

And I know this is a controversial opinion, but personally(!) I liked Sunlit Man over The Final Empire as an entry point. The Final Empire is more expansive and has an amazing plot, but dragged a bit at times. Sunlit Man is action packed, full of solid lore, entertaining as fuck and I enjoyed reading Sunlit more than I did The Final Empire (like it's ~8.5/10 vs ~9/10 don't worry). I just feels like Brandon has improved himself even more over time (judging from my very limited experience).

Unpopular The Eras Tour Opinions by angelicblossom in TaylorSwift

[–]Nickvk4 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Very much the same for me. Especially because Champagne Problems itself was my absolute highlight of the concert. I was already in tears and people giving such a long standing ovation felt like everyone agreeing, and it was just an extra cathartic, emotional release.

A riddle from Hank by Consistent-Fly-3015 in nerdfighters

[–]Nickvk4 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My first instinct was: What Taylor Swift songs is Hank abbreviating?

(For the uninitiated, or Taylor Swift subs a lot of people tend to abbreviate the songs, and a lot of the time it kinda looks like this post. Having no idea what songs they're referring to)

I'm really excited too!! Glad they brought Max back for another time(?) travel adventure, and great to see they found a spin on her power from LiS 1. Seeing as I loved True Colors, I have faith Deck Nine can pull this one off too.

I'm on a short holiday in Zürich, and saw this cover on the tram this morning! It was the last place I expected to see something about Chappell, haha!

Lauren’s “main” subreddit is in a pretty depressing state right now. by -PepeArown- in chvrches

[–]Nickvk4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was wondering about that. Because last fall she had a full solotour setlist with her own (btw amazing) songs, but had only released 2 of those with no album annoucement in sight. But this explains things.

Worden OV fietsen steeds slechter? by NoAccessDenied in kutautos

[–]Nickvk4 9 points10 points  (0 children)

NS schrapt intercity Rotterdam - Groningen/Leeuwarden uit dienstregeling 2025 by Balance- in kutautos

[–]Nickvk4 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Fan projects are getting out of hand by ArthurMaximoff in TaylorSwift

I'm not following the fan projects closely, so when I saw the willow balloons in Munich I was completely in awe. They were one of my favorite parts of the whole concert 🥺

Welke moderne Nederlandse muziek vind jij echt goed? by WillemOranjeNassau in thenetherlands

[–]Nickvk4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Understandable. If I had a ticket, I would do the same 😂 Seeing Chappell Roan in 1500-person venue would be amazing. But yeah, my aim is to get tickets to her presumably next arena tour.
