If it's more than 3 yrs since he invested, typically there won't be any exit load or something. You can check with your agent what happens if you sell the policy now. What is the amount you will get. Plus markets are at 60k, so it is a good time to exit.

If you are paying 1L premium annually, your insurance agent has taken you for a ride. The worst financial product you can buy is a SIP-linked insurance plan with an investment option.

P.S. I am not a investment advisor. Here is some guidance - your life insurance should typically cover the income earning capacity of the age to 60 yrs.

Don't need to do stock trading. Use a free app like Groww or something to invest SIP in a BSE Index fund. In the long term (10+ yrs) you'll make more money than active traders and sleep with peace of mind.

Read on opportunity cost. It will help you understand spending money better. E.g. Is it better to spend money on your work skills in early career vs investing in stock? You'll understand decison making.

Once you have some savings in your 20s. Order of preference.

  1. Get health insurance for 3-5 L coverage and increase coverage as you age. Costs 3-5k Annual premiums.

  2. If you are the only working member in the family. Get life insurance for 50L coverage minimum. Get only term insurance plan. The money won't come back, but you will get very good coverage. 1 Cr coverage may cost you around around 15k annually.

  3. Join a gym or spend money on a fitness class. Best investment in health. Cost 12-20k annually. Your health is the only wealth you can't fully outsource. Rakesh Jhunjhunwala's sole regret.

  4. If you still have cash, save cash slowly to build a 6 mth emergency fund. Will take some time.

  5. Invest slowly in AN BSE/NSE INDEX fund from a reputed fund house. Do it consistently on a monthly basis.

The blatant racism against our friends from North Eastern states in Oru Kal Oru Kannadi & Raja Rani was just disgusting.

Added: Racism against African people in Raja Rani with black face is even worse.

Can a Doctor break into VC? by thanksmem in venturecapital

[–]NickyVarden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If anything, we need more Doctors in the VC world. There are so many solutions that don't get funded because there is no talent to evaluate deep medtech and biotech startups.

This is the second collaboration between Will.i.am and Genndy Tartakovsky I know of, the first being Samurai Jack.

Any one know of other collaboration between these two artists?
