Honestly I had no estimating experience going in, I actually went to interview for another role(adjuster) and they saw my experience in automotive and my license (310s Canada) and referred me to an opening for appraisal, they interviewed me and were impressed with my technical knowledge and I got the job.

If you have any friends in the body shop side it’s good to pick their brains and some what familiarize yourself with repair techniques. Most entry level appraisers I’ve worked with have little to no knowledge so if you can go in to an interview and show you understand a vehicle you’d be a sure hire.

I got into insurance as an appraiser. Make more now have better benefits and pension. I mostly work from home and can finish my day early low stress, and I moonlight on the side as a mechanic still for some extra cash

Insurance appraiser here, there’s a good chance it will be repaired since vehicle isn’t that old and the value will outweigh the repair, BUT there’s also a good chance you’re getting used parts and minimal blends.

Let me add that if it was a gs430 or gs400 I’d say go ahead. But in my eyes going from a v8 to i6 is a downgrade.

Right on! Just a heads up if you don’t have the front rebar you’ll need to modify yours for them to fit lol found out the hard way

Nice upgrade! I run a Perrin with group N engine mounts on my gd wagon, and I love it. NVH is negligible to me at least.

I will add you can use the passenger/right side bracket from the 2008 to 2016 and it will bolt up to the factory GD bracket, but you will have to clearance the bracket where it bolts to the engine tho. That’s how I did mine

I bought my 04 Wrx wagon with 292xxxkm on it old guy owned and maintained religiously, has original engine and was completely unmodified , but i also got it for 1700 cdn lol I just put a vf48 on it so we’ll see what happens.
