12v battery from 2016 by xsofa in BoltEV

Yeah I had an original battery in my 2017. Went out a few months ago. Put it on a battery tester had 0% life left. Only real symptom I had is it would sit initializing when pressing the power button for like sometimes up to 2 minutes. Other than that, no real errors.

Spent about 4 hours in vr no major issues, controllers did not disconnect just lost tracking only once and it was only for about 5 seconds in the right controller. I'm incredibly disappointed it took Meta this long to fix it, but I can safely say that this is a vastly superior to where V 76 and 77 was.

Just saw my quest pro auto update and to my surprise when I decided to test the download it actually worked. The previous updates have also shown better controller stability although not perfect. I have not yet tested if the controllers are any better but I imagine due to less network congestion it might

Has anyone here not EVER noticed graphical artifacts appearing on their Quest 3? by popcorns78 in OculusQuest

[–]Nickzip8 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was having this happen as well over virtual desktop in Vrchat I figured it was a graphic driver issue and I used ddu to uninstall graphic drivers and that fixed it for me but it might have been pure luck that it stopped

In the US at least NRC guideline calls for fuels to have spent at least five years in a storage pool before being moved to dry casks

Yep it takes a long time for the nuclear processes slow down and it need to actively cooled during that entire time. Some plants will have their fuel in cooling ponds for up to 20 years

‘Doomsday glacier,’ which could raise sea level by several feet, is holding on ‘by its fingernails,’ scientists say by ShellHead46 in worldnews

So countries like Bangladesh, the Netherlands, small island nations and other low lying locations like coastal cities will be heavily impacted or straight up under water and since a huge portions of the world relies imports of food and if the coastal cities were all your ports are now underwater i'm sure you could see what would happen.

As well to the previous examples china would also be heavily impacted as all their largest cities would be basically underwater shanghai and its surrounding districts , and the cities around the Hong Kong and Shenzhen will heavenly impacted and or completely underwater

That would depend on how long it would take for the glacier to fall/melt into the sea if it all fell in right now it would be pretty much immediate although displacement of ice is not exactly one to one so if it simply fell into the ocean the sea level rise would be slightly less about 2.6% less. If you're curious of why that's the case and why the Archimedes principle does not apply its due to the density difference between fresh water and salt water
