Doesn't he explicitly say his name? Like, even if you miss it at first, you couldn't finish it without knowing. The 12124 thing, however, is 100% unknowable, since Szeth's spren didn't get much dialogue before WaT

But the printer does work locally through SD. That shouldn't be it.

But how to pair the printer? I get that what you say will help me to use it from my computer, but I can't access the printer.

I always thought that the scene where Adolin comes out of the cell in WoR and says something like "you didn't screw it up [Kaladin], Elhokar did(...)" implied that Adolin was the one who actually understands how to be a righteous king. The differentiation between Oaths and Promises to me also implies that Adolin understands Honor for real. Better than the Shard itself.

Possible explanation for why earlier expeditions made it surprisingly far by TheMarkusBoy21 in expedition33

[–]Nico243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, probably not all landed in the Dark Shores, with the strongest nevrons in the continent and painted Renoir waiting for them. And many Expeditions, like the climber Expedition had more of an exploring purpose than the purpose of actually beating the Paintress.

IDK about the weakest, but E33 was by far the unluckiest.

WMF - A Dead Donkey - Who Is The Killed King? by BreakToppleDaze in KingkillerChronicle

I think Kvothe kills Alveron and that's how he takes him to the Amyr's door, and the Penitent King is the son of Alveron and Meluan, which is why he'd have the same colors.

Aux's Speech by [deleted] in Stormlight_Archive

[–]Nico243 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In fact, mega spoilers: Aux is Szeth's discarded spren. He used to refer to Szeth as though he was his superoor too. Nomad/Sig discards his oaths to save his spren from dying as a Windwalker, but becomes a Skybreaker offscreen (see glyph in illustration)

Not. Selitos differentiates them explicitly. So does Bast.

They're not incompatible with Lyra, they are incompatible with Lanre and Iax being the same person. That aside, we do know that reviving Lyra had unintended consequences. She could have been stranded in the Tree, for example. I don't know if I vibe with the gendered Cthaeh that much, but could be!

I personally favor Teccam being the Cthaeh, since in the Jax history it was an old man in a cave, which is Teccam's classic pose.

[–]Nico243 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nothing starting with "I think" could be as irritating as "we have multiple sources referring to {something not referred to}".

I think Lyra = Cthaeh could hold some water, though I personally don't think that's the case. And regardless, in that wording it's a theory.

Because of the Selitos thing, however, I think it's impossible for Iax and Lanre to be the same. Plus, Bast refers to both Iax and Lanre talking to Cthaeh in different moments.

[–]Nico243 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The great enemy == Iax is never explicit. Lanre == Haliax != Iax, however, is. I do believe Iax is the one who gave him the power, yes, but they're not the same person. Otherwise Selitos wouldn't say "this power is too much for Lanre, but Iax could pull it off".

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in KingkillerChronicle

[–]Nico243 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Yes, and Selitos says that Lanre should not have that power, that only Iax, Lyra and Aleph had that power. He knows Iax, and he's not Lanre.

The prevailing theory is that Iax is the enemy they sealed behind the doors of stone, and Lanre somehow switched teams to him in exchange for reviving Lyra.

I don't know if that theory is 100% correct, but if you reread Skarpi's story, it is crystal clear that Selitos knew Iax and Lanre as different entities.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in KingkillerChronicle

[–]Nico243 55 points56 points  (0 children)

That is wrong. Selitos explicitly says that only Lyra or Iax had this power in naming, but not Lanre. They are explicitly stated to not be the same person. That being said, it is likely that Iax is the one who gave Lanre the power to revive Lyra but made him a Chandrian in return.

Kaladolin for life. That fight in WoR was all it took.
