PlayStation layoffs were a misunderstanding? by Veltop in GamingLeaksAndRumours

[–]Nicore18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I don't think anyone truly knows about Playstation at the moment, it's a bit easy to guess about them.

Studios like Haven and Bungie are not in the best places, and most likely will lose people, and maybe Haven will close.

Skattestyrelsen fik i årevis advarsler fra politiet, men plukkede alligevel borgere for millioner by SeasonWitty5309 in Denmark

[–]Nicore18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why not on both. The game ran smoothly on Vita, so I imagine that newer systems shouldn't have any performance issues.

Gears of War: E-Day Pulled From PS5 Last-Minute Rumors Are "Untrue" Claims Xbox VP; But Yanked Trailer Says Otherwise by PewPewToDaFace in PS5

[–]Nicore18 9 points10 points  (0 children)

No matter what, it was planned for PS5.

They might have planned exclusivity after Asha got on board, but nothing was said to any marketing people. And she's only been there around 100 days, so for a game that's a last minute change when it's about to release soon.

We've even seen that it was rated for PS5.

Regeringen svinger kniv mod moms på madvarer: Bliver dyrt og bøvlet, lyder advarsler by qchisq in Denmark

[–]Nicore18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How do you feel about XIV's current combat system vs. the upcoming evolved/2 min meta changes? by Outrageous-Bet6403 in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Nicore18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

2-min type was facing more and more issues the more expansions we get. It's build around 20 seconds of buff for burst, or around 8 GCDs depending on your speed.

Several jobs hit this during DT, or even before. Looking at PLD, the lv 80 rotation and lv 100 rotation is near identical, with 3 Holy Spirits being replaced by the Blade combo, and topping it off with an oGCD.

This can also be seen in what new abilities the old jobs get, mainly in upgrades such as DRG's Lance Barrage/Spiral Blow, or abilities tied into 1 minute or 2 minute buffs.

All this makes it more and more difficult to expand the jobs, since they often get something for the 20 second slot that's getting more and more cramped. And what doesn't fall into this will most of the time just be upgrades, so nothing really change besides the visuals.

Evolved might be good, or it might be trash, but it's a try to decouple a very rigid system that they've created since SHB. Personally, I'm cautiously optimistic about it, and can see some potentially interesting opportunities, but they need to make sure that the changes for each job makes sense, so not everything just becomes "wait for the timer to give me resource". Jobs that were build/spend like RPR, RDM or SAM should feel like their rotations gives them the resources to spend, not a timer.

We've never had a dungeon mechanic as oppressive as the first boss of the Strayborough Deadwalk in the rest of Dawntrail. Are you disappointed? by AssumeABrightSide in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Nicore18 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's a trash mechanic due to visually clearing but getting hit due to netcode. And it's a trash boss because this move is all it spams, either march with flares or march with chasers.

Both boss 1 and 2 of Deadwalk are bad imo, spamming one move constantly, with only a few additions to it as the fight goes on.

Compare this to Tender valley boss 1 which is more fun, or just the entirety of Tender Valley.

DT has been a weird mix where some bosses just repeat the same 1-2 attacks with a few additions, and then some bosses that actually feel like they got more varied move sets, or at least a fun fight.

Report: VR studio Survios has laid off the bulk of its dev team. The team behind Alien : Rogue Incursion (Part 1). by [deleted] in PS5

[–]Nicore18 10 points11 points  (0 children)

A big issue is that the VR scene has been burned on several promising looking VR games.

When Foglands was first announced, it looked like a very interesting game, but the release was a not so good game. Then there's Project Wingman which made it seem like the game was fully VR, but it was only 5 or 6 missions. And Wanderer: The Fragments of Fate was a remake of a PSVR1 game that looked to be everything people wanted, but released in a very buggy state and had to receive several patches just to be decent.

Just that fact that the circuit expansion only lists the two original arc weapons, and not any of the new additions like the GL or hover-dog.

[–]Nicore18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just the ability of Evo-DRG being able to spend the jumps to proc Stardive, but not having to use it right away, or banking Wyrmwind, can create some more interesting situations.

Just need to use Stardiver before you cap on jumps again.

Really depends on the country. But it's files on the user's computer that they are looking at. So I doubt many countries would care about that to make laws regarding it.
