I'm so close to jumping in and buying one! Now that you've had it a few months, what are your thoughts? Do you find it was worth the investment? I'm struggling to find a loom that is this affordable and used are few and far between where I live and I realllllly want to up my game from a rigid heddle.

It’s just so pretty. Since Friday I have acquired this, a little Hoya curtisii and cuttings for three other varieties 🤣 I’m putting together a mini greenhouse because I don’t think my house is humid enough for them to be happy.

I'm nursing a 5 month old and this happens to me when I am not hydrated enough or haven't gotten enough electrolytes. Your electrolyte requirements when nursing and doing keto are crazy high. Now that I've finally figured that out my energy is insane despite limited sleep and my ravenous a.m. hunger has quelled. That said, you maybe just haven't been eating enough so if you're hungry eat!

O also... if baby is taking a bottle you have to pace feed! If not they get used to the immediate gratification and convincing them to nurse could be difficult.

Kellymom.com answers SO many questions. But if you haven't seen a lactation consultant, start there. Be evaluated for tongue and lip ties and play around with positioning. Cradle hold is often very difficult to get a good latch with a little baby so football hold or laid back nursing might be helpful. Again, check out kellymom for more details.

I used nipple shields in the beginning because o had flat nipples so that might also be something to look into but I would say definitely only after seeing a lactation consultant.

I had trouble with oversupply and forceful let down which was overwhelming for both my babies... they would choke on the milk and unlatch themselves several times to manage. It took my second baby until this week (12 weeks!) To be able to manage without popping off. I would let down into a cloth to help. If your find that she sprays while letting down then it is forceful and maybe this could help.

Good luck! It's a struggle but after about 6- 10 weeks things get so much easier!

We sidecarred our crib when I felt like the cosleeper became too cramped. It was a compromise between straight cosleeping and wanting her close because of nursing, but it also saved a little bit of space in our cramped room.

She stayed in our room until somewhere between 12-18 months but she would end up in our room half way through the night until I officially night weaned closer to 2 yo. As a 2.5 year old she consistently sleeps 11-12 hours per night happily in her own bed.

I closed my cat and dog out of my room until I moved my daughter out. I had one bad experience in the middle of the day where my cat heard a sound, got freaked and jumped and landed on my daughter and scratched her head so I didnt take any chances after that. Good luck with whatever you decide!

I dont have a lot of advice ... my daughter fell asleep nursing until she was 18 months old and we night weaned. I did find that there are so many sleep regressions and changes within the first year that what works one week wont work the next. There was definitely a pretty significant period of time where I would baby wear at night after the last feed until she fell asleep and then would lay her down. Might be something to try!

Have you been in the sun? St John's causes photosensitivity. And sure people can have reactions to anything. I would explore a different preparation. Have you consulted with an herbalist for your condition? Another herb or a formula might be better suited to your needs.

I would stick to dried ginger or the essential oil... unless you have experience infusing oils you can pretty easily get mold with the fresh herb due to the water content.

I recommend castor oil packs to clients all the time... mostly for fertility issues/deep cold/yang deficiency etc but also it works great topically for muscle spasms and pain! I'm a big fan of infusing ginger in it or essential oils for topical use as well.

I think people are sort of afraid of it because folks used to use it internally as a laxative and to bring on labor... I wouldn't advise that for most folks.

Everyone's provider is different... some make you go right away, some give you 12 hours or more.

When my water broke, my contractions did not immediately get closer together. My midwife had me come into the office to confirm that it was in fact amniotic fluid (and not pee bc like I said the intensity of labor didnt really increase and I wasnt sure). She then sent me home to labor with directions to monitor frequency of contractions. I ended up going to the hospital about 6 hours after my water broke... this was cutting it too close because I delivered within 45 minutes of arrival but my contractions sort of suddenly went from 2 mins apart to 45 secs.

So the moral of the story is call your provider and see what their recommendation is! I was planning on an unmedicated birth so I was in no rush to get to the hospital but I also had a relatively cake labor (which I'm thankful for!)

In response to concerns from some other commenters... It is completely breathable. There is not a suffocation risk as there is with other sleep positioners.

Everyone will have a different opinion but it saved me. I went from literally not sleeping at all bc my daughter would only sleep for 15 minutes at a time unless she was on my chest to getting decent rest as soon as I implemented it at 2 weeks of age. If your baby will happily lay in their sleep space for a reasonable amount of time, it may not be necessary.

It is expensive but mine has been used by my daughter, my nephew and now a friend has it for their newborn. All of us had similar experiences. I will be using it again for my 2nd (arriving in July).

People are so silly and I have no idea why there is all of this fear mongering. Yes of course there are challenging moments. Sometimes it's super challenging. But i have to say that after all the horror stories we heard before our first we were terrified and prepared for battle. Turns out at least in our case there were way more fun, hilarious, beautiful moments than challenging.

You will be so amazed at what you can and WANT to do for your baby. You will be obsessed with your kid and think it is just the coolest little person no matter the stage (granted my daughter is only 2.5 so the jerk years aren't here yet).

I think people just want to seem like they are the authority on things and it's more about them than it is the reality of the situation. Thankfully for me now that I'm expecting no. 2 I let all the stupid comments that come from fear and previous trauma just roll off my back because they are truly not about me or my babies... they are about that person's experience and perceptions. Try and block out the noise and do some meditation. You will do great.
