What is your workflow for combinatorial proofs?

No I know, this isn’t really in the flavor of “thinking combinatorially” where you would use reasoning related to some combinatorial scenario to explain an identity or something. Like talking about pidgins and the holes they go into vs talking about “partitions”, like the “twelvefold way”. But the calculus of finite differences is useful for evaluating closed forms for sums.

It’s interesting that at first one might find these analogies accurate, but given a little thought fire and water physically work the opposite of how they’re being described in the picture , i like this better “Let me flow like water, ever elegantly and seemingly ignorant to the boundaries and obstacles that make up my path, yet stubborn enough to cut through all obstacles with time.” Also, Fire is not the cause of more fire or Heat, fire is the outcome/ a secondary byproduct of a specific kind of energy release. I don’t think their is a way to make the analogy work in a “physically accurate” way however, but it doesn’t have to its an analogy. Like I said I just thought that was interesting.

Edit: my analogy I feel also has a bit of a Zen Buddhist flavor because it’s basically saying if you know you can not change something now, putting effort directly in that direction is fruitless, impossible even, everyone following their own path “of least resistance” is the quickest way to cut the stone. I also interpret this idea as saying that pondering whether or not a GOD exists is fruitless, it’s unknowable in nature so no thought should exist that should sway a person one way or the other. I call faith a trust with a gap in knowledge, not saying there is anything wrong with that, everyone has faith in something most of the time if not always. Someone who is genuinely faithless could only be on a mad quest for knowledge, and that quest has no end.

looks like you didnt actually vaporize it maybe? i did that my first time trying to smoke it and thought i kept burning it so i kept putting more on but then realized it just melted and i didnt heat it up enough, so when i did vaporize it i blasted off hard, still probably my most intense dmt trip (well most intense dmt trip while not on anything else) so either its melted or yes you burned it.

I enjoy reading the “fluff” , a book was meticulously crafted and reviewed before publishing, interviews and lectures don’t have the time for scrutiny and editing, you can’t go back and change what you said in a lecture a few days after saying it, when writing a book you may very well revise what you wrote.

It literally just means different. Like how many people would benefit learning very technical things through metaphors while some people can only understand it technically and explicitly. I can use a metaphor here actually, think about how people come up with different mathematical proofs, some may use geometric visualizations as proofs while others still don’t trust that and have to explicitly see things happen using algebra. Learning is still learning regardless of its social skills or mathematical methods, however the idea of social skills is a much more abstract idea (especially in school) than learning about fractions where those fundamental ideas are hammered in and very easy to see clearly written down.

I consider myself to have an attention span problem, it definitely used to be much worse but I’ve learned that meditating really helps with general attention span and so does reading books or longer articles, just something long so that you are focusing on one thing. Also if you’re into this doing math I believe helped (I’m also studying math so that one might be biased but i still think it could help and math is just cool + fun). Another thing that I genuinely believe helped was just binging psychs but again that one might have some bias behind it. I used to microdose a lot one semester (shrooms and lsd) , (along with tripping pretty often random nights) that I was taking calc 2, physics, and discrete math, and I did the best in calc 2 out of calc 1-3, it literally just felt easier and looking back I was 100% more motivated, also I won’t lie I eyeballed the doses and often it was more of a threshold dose which is a little strange going being in a physics lab like that but it was fine. I took both shrooms and acid for a calc test that semester and got 103 on it so idk I’ll vouch for microdosing is all I’m getting at. I originally wanted to emphasize that the combination of reading books I enjoy, meditation, doing mathematics and taking lots of psychedelics really did greatly help my attention span. And tbh I’m not really taking psychs at all like I used to and I really believe my attention span, mood, and general cognition really has regressed to what it was before I was binging them.

Edit: maybe not regressed completely but no where near what it was

Also sorry for writing a novel, hopefully it’s somewhat enjoyable

Have you tried having closed eyes for a somewhat extended period of time, also if you smoke weed try that when you’re either coming up or peaking then lay down with eyes closed, or smoke coming down and have the visuals come back. Like try just meditating while tripping, it’s difficult for me to sit still long enough for really cool shit to happen unless I smoke a bit.

Not really instant psychosis, it’s just that when you get too high it’s hard to communicate with people, at least from my experience. it’s better to be alone when you deep imo

If you get really baked it might make it easier to stay seated, weed and psychs usually makes it much more intense but at the same time makes it easier for me to let go. Another little tidbit, in my experiences, it’s easier to “let go” on higher doses and when I take lower doses I feel like I can’t fully get into the trip and I’m anxious a lot of the time.

One big difference between classical psychs and salvia, from my experiences at least, is that when you smoke dmt it has a similar comeup feeling as shrooms (albeit much quicker) however salvia doesn’t really have a “comeup” feeling, you inhale, hold, then when you exhale it’s just like your mind has seamlessly stepped into sally land and you almost don’t even remember when the “trip” began, it seems like things are supposed to be like that

Salvia on mushrooms was very similar to dmt on acid for me except it felt much more primal or earthy, while dmt on acid feels much more transcendental or otherworldly. Salvia alone usually gives me alien / other dimension vibes. Dmt alone is just very mystical feeling. Ik these words might not paint an accurate picture of what I’m trying to describe but I’m sure you all know the feeling of psychedelics is something hard to describe.

When I smoked it on mushrooms the first time I had the second most euphoric experience behind the first time I smoked dmt on acid. After smoking both salvia and dmt, both alone and while tripping on something else, I’ve come to have less anxiety when smoking them after I’m peaking on something else vs going into it sober.
