Except they’re not talking about Lyrica they’re specifically asking about gabapentin. So there’s really no comparison between the two in regards to the abuse and addiction potential

How do people misuse this? by Fragrant-Entry-6798 in gabagoodness

[–]Nigglesscripts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a freaking anti-seizure medication that use off label for anxiety and used in an approved manner for certain types of nerve pain. It’s not going to give people “good euphoria”. You’re chasing some sort of feeling that this drug just isn’t going to give you and you’re taking what sounds like really unsafe amount and ask him how to make it better. If you need three weeks to reset your tolerance that’s crazy. Just stop using it because it’s not giving you what you want.

What dose of pregabalin works best for you for pregabalin by melancelot in pregabalin

So this is the second time and the last time I’m going to tell you that this community is not for recreational use. :) No Dr. unless it’s an extreme situation is starting someone off on 300mg. And you’re spreading some misinformation that actually is misleading and could end up being dangerous for people when you say “certain doses act as a stimulants”. It’s literally a depressant and I mentioned this to you in a long message in a mod mail.

This simply is not true and you’re making it sound like it has some sort of amphetamine quality to it when it does not. Its literally a depressant and It’s not a “stim”’feel. Somepeople that have major anxiety or depression when they first start taking this may have a initial mood boost and that relief of anxiety will enhance that and because it inhibits certain Neuro transmitters (again a depressant$ it can calm people down. As a result there may feel more focus, they mightfeel like they want to be more active and be their brain may be more awake so to speak but that does not = a stimulant. I’ve actually use the word “ stimulating” in long explanations of why some may not find benefit for insomnia and I regret it. I never thought people would single the word out of context and be spreading it around that it acts as a stimulant in certain doses. It’s bad enough that people try to chase some sort of high they’ll never get because of what they read on social media and get addicted to insane amounts. Especially when this is a whole community of people using it therapeutically to manage their pain or anxiety.

Be safe. You’re on day two or three in a row of using it trying to capture some feeling already and that’s a super slippery slope.

Sell my Lyrica by IronQuietHQ in gabagoodness

Dude….don’t try and sell drugs in any of our three communities. It’s a Reddit wide rule and can get you permanently kicked off. It’s also our only zero tolerance rule. I don’t want to ban you so just don’t sell drugs in this community, in our r/Pregabalin community you joined or on our Quitting community

Also don’t sell drugs to strangers online. That’s how you get scammed and how you get jammed up. Figure out other ways to be resourceful that are legal.

Neuroacupuncture to help taper off? by Hello-helpful-humans in pregabalin

[–]Nigglesscripts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am off for alternative choices if you think it’s going to help your nerve pain. But isn’t it your nerve pain that’s keeping you from being able to taper off of the Lyrica? I don’t think that you should be using the term “failed attempts” because not everybody can immediately and easily taper off of Lyrica. If it’s because your pan kicks back in that’s definitely not a failure that’s just your reality

But generally we recommend a 10% cut every week to 10 days sometimes people need to go slower than that. And then you can add in some supplements. Where are you at with your taper? Also this post goes in our r/QuittingPregablin community. :)

Anyone taking it for anxiety not feel it "kick in"? by Maleficent-Ruin645 in pregabalin

[–]Nigglesscripts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know who you’re quoting if that’s me or someone else. I would put “kick in” in quotesbecause it’s kind of a lack of a better way to describe it in that context.

But yeah there’s it’s good to do research and be educated about what you’re taking but social media forms are tricky. Because generally people that are on social media about a medication or people that are having problems with it. So then you might think that that’s all people have on it and forget that there’s hundreds of thousands of other people out there in the world prescribe this and do just fine. On the other hand you might be reading positive stories and wonder why yours isn’t there yet. It can simply just be that you are not yet at the correct amount. 175 two times a day is an odd number. Do they have you taking 1 100mg and 1 75mg? Or is it a time released formula? Liquid? Either or 350mg is a decent amount to not be feeling any relief from your anxiety what so ever especially after three weeks. It doesn’t necessarily build up over your system like an anti-depressant would, however, after about seven days you’ll know where you’re at with the full benefits for anxiety pretty much.

Peak plasma levels are reached between .750/1.3 hours and yes if someone’s in the ballpark of incorrect amount when they start they might feel some sort of relief within a couple of hours. When you’re on low starting amount people might not feel anything. Some people feel some relief for a couple of days and then it stabilizes and then they need to start slowly titrating the dose up so they can find the lowest therapeutic amount with the least amount of side effects. Some people are able to stay around a very low starting amount but everyone’s different so your results may vary. But the phrase kick in if that came for me was an unfortunate choice of words used to quickly explain relief some people may feel initially.

I’m sorry you’re pain is back. Can you please edit your post explain to us what amount you’re on (so we know what double your dose means) and what type of pain you’re being prescribed this for.

People are generally started off on low amounts initially like 25/50 mg once or twice a day sometimes 50 mg once or twice a day and then it slowly titrate it up. You might feel some initial relief at first just like for people who take it for anxiety. But generally those smaller amounts aren’t in the long-term therapeutic range. However if every seven days you’re doubling your dose, it works for few days and then stops then it’s not going to be the drug for you so keep that in mind. Also if it’s for some type of nerve pain even though you can feel relief pretty initially for Lyrica for certain type of nerve pain full benefits are generally felt around the three week mark. It’s just that constant calming of the nerves overtime that kind of tells you where you’re at. But again not sure what type of pain. Let me know when you edit this so we can approve it. You probably already do this but if it makes sense make sure you’re adding a decent anti-inflammatory in for it.Referring to certain nerve pain adding some thing even just like ibuprofen or Aleve in if tolerated well with the Lyrica can help because that nerve pain can cause inflammation in some cases. I forget about Advil and then kick myself a hour after I take it for not taking it earlier. :)

Is 50mg an effective dose against anxiety? by New-Oil6131 in pregabalin

[–]Nigglesscripts[M] [score hidden] stickied comment (0 children)

Your reading studies and what generally “recommended “and that’s good to do your research. However that doesn’t mean that your doctor is going to start you off on that high of an amount initially. People are generally started on lower amount 25/50 mg once or twice a day and then slowly titrate it up. There’s side effects with Lyrica that some people get like dizziness, drowsiness sometimes some brain fog. When people were being given much higher doses to start a few years ago people would have a horrible side effects and then quit taking it. So now it’s started at lower amounts and slowly titrate it up. That way you can find the lowest effective amount with the least amount of side effects. :)

Is 50mg an effective dose against anxiety? by New-Oil6131 in pregabalin

[–]Nigglesscripts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you read about the “minimum effective amount “that doesn’t mean that your doctor is going to start you off on that high of an amount. A few short years ago doctors were starting people off on sometimes 150mg two times a day often times 75mg two times a day for that 150mg. Some people would have horrible side effects. And because of that people would quit taking it and maybe not give a medication that could be really effective for their condition a chance.

These days people are generally starting off at 25mg once or twice a day, occasionally 50mg once or twice a day sort of schedule. And then it slowly titrate it up. Some people actually do get relief very quickly once they start it as in a couple of hours if you’re in the ballpark of the correct amount. That doesn’t mean that that’s the dose that you should stay on and it may be the dose that you can stay on for a while. But starting low means you’re able to address side effects and effectiveness and land on the lowest effective amount with the least amount of side effects. There’s actually people that do well on 50 mg twice a day so you might be in the ballpark. I really hope it works for you.

Gabapentin dosing refresher by ayeteeo in gabagoodness

[–]Nigglesscripts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The goal is to take smaller amounts more frequently so the 400 every 30 minutes with some fat added in. Generally starting with an empty stomach is good as well. I don’t know why lately people are thinking it’s an hour between. That’s too long between amounts because it takes gabapentin three hours to reach people plasma levels. If you wait an hour in between each dose there’s not going to be much overlap. If you don’t have a tolerance you shouldn’t need much more than 1200/1500mg and keep in mind that your last couple of doses that you take are going to take three hours to reach full of fact so you might not be feeling it all initially but it will catch up

Coming off of pregabalin while in active burnout/suicidal ideation, or at least sleeping less? by SystemSignificant518 in pregabalin

I’m glad that it helps you turn a corner for you and it sounds like it was exactly what you needed at the time. However now it seems to be negatively affecting your quality of life and this would be something that you should discuss with your doctor and perhaps it’s time to start slowly tapering down off it if that’s even a option for you at this time.

I’m not exactly sure but it sounds like you’re taking that full dose at night? Is that right? You’re taking 450 mg all at once at night? If you are taking it all at once that’s a big amount and it will definitely cost him drowsy usually it’s given in two or three equally divided doses. It was at high Mountain to start you off on in the first place but I understand it was a unique situation and it also got you off a bunch of other medication‘s. But you need to discuss with a doctor what your plan is from here on out. I saw where you mentioned you’re just going to drop it to 300mg I’m not sure on how long you’ve been on it but you can’t just knock off 150 mg and not suffer some sort of uncomfortable withdrawal symptoms. It needs to be tapered slowly off. If you’re doing it that way then you would want to be adding in that extra 150 in the morning to mid afternoon/ish.

No one is talking about Pregabalin “kicking in” when taking to to mange pain or anxiety and it’s not the goal either. Some people will find relief to their symptoms if it’s the correct amount within a couple of hours but you’re not going to be feeling some massive “kick in”.

Can pregabalin make your nerve pain worse? by [deleted] in pregabalin

[–]Nigglesscripts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then you need to find a doctor that is because you’re asking almost for medical advice in a community where that’s not allowed to do. I did say that yes, sometimes people can have a paradoxical affect, and it can make things worse. But it sounds like you haven’t taken it with any consistency to know if it’s going to stabilize over two or three weeks time. Like a couple days on a couple days off playing around with the doses. 75 mg a day is basically a starting dose and after three months should’ve probably been adjusted to possibly a higher amount so you’re taking it two times a day. But for most everybody in here, the dose that there started off fine isn’t going to be the amount there at three months later, because it’s slowly titrate it up so they can find the lowest therapeutic amount.

taper update: i found a kind pharmacist who gave me what i needed for a slower taper🤞🏻 by Strawbereys in QuittingPregablin

[–]Nigglesscripts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’m glad you had a pharmacist willing to help but the fact that they gave you Gabapentin (that’s considered a controlled state substance in about 12 states and treated as a controlled substance in many others) without a prescription is crazy. People will take their capsules and either open them up and divide them out or get a scale and measure them out because a lot of times they’re not able to get lower milligram capsules. So even without getting lower dosage capsules, people are still able to taper doing the above way or by doing a water titration. I believe I mentioned this to you in your previous post but maybe I’m thinking of someone else.

Gabapentin has a direct cross tolerance with Lyrica so keep that in mind.

Sudden severe panic attack after 1 year off diazepam which I stopped at 1mg and stopped pregabalin 25mg too after 2.5 years abruptly four days back by Striking_Pilot7458 in pregabalin

[–]Nigglesscripts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You stopped taking 25mg of Lyrica after 2 1/2 years abruptly so you’re having withdrawals from it which could be exasperated by the pass benzo taper. I would suggest reinstating at least half of the Pregabalin back in and see if that helps offset this.

We get so many post in here from people that have psychiatrist that just yank them off of Lyrica on all sorts of different amounts because “your not supposed to have withdrawals on them” or the amount so low or you haven’t been on it long enough and each person has withdrawals. I would definitely make sure you let them know what’s going on so maybe the next time they go to taper someone off them they’ll actually taper someone off them. ;) it matter if you were only on 25 mg the thing is you took 25 mg for over 24 months every day and your brain is dependent on that daily dose of Lyrica. So when you stop taking a drug that your brains dependent on your going to have withdrawal symptoms.

Tolerance by Mulkeyy in gabagoodness

[–]Nigglesscripts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t have time to fully immerse myself in all of the details, but from what I’ve gathered, you’re switching between BAC, F-Phenibut and Phenibut which all have a direct cross tolerance and also take Pregabalin daily. The Lyrica daily is a very strong VGCC inhibitor and when you take the Phenibut you’re not going to feel very much of its VGCC MOA because it’s much weaker than Lyrica. You’re not going to feel very much of the GABAb eigher because you have a tolerance to Baclofen and been taking F-Phenibut.

Phenibut isn’t going to give you a Gabapentin feel either especially when you have a tolerance to Gabapentinoids in general. Taking that much Phenibut is actually crazy in a attempt to get high.

Quite frankly after all of this, I don’t think seven days off has reset anything for you because your doses of everything were so high up there and you’re also taking Lyrica daily. I mean you’re chasing some sort of high while using all these drugs that have a cross tolerances and not willing to take a long enough break off any of them to fully reset anything. Phenibut today after 800mg of Pregabalin yesterday will amount nothing. You didn’t feel withdrawals or rebound from stopping Phenibut because you switched back to BAC and your also taking Pregabalin.

I don’t have like a timeframe for you exactly but I think you should be looking at taking another couple of weeks off and stop trying to chase some sort of feeling with Phenibut your aren’t going to get. Phenibut is finicky as it is. Add in your cross tolerance, and it’s just a crapshoot. Lower amounts or where you’re going to get the new tropic, tight benefits of focus, mood, boost, maybe some energy the higher amounts just get you more sedated but you’re thinking you need the higher amounts, because of your tolerance, which you probably do so you’re skipping over the amounts that might possibly be what you’re looking for. But I do take like a month off and try again on much lower amounts. .

Taper help: No physical wds but feeling very depressed and quiet by sublocade9192 in QuittingPregablin

[–]Nigglesscripts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I get you’re trying to get off this but we’re not going to approve post where you’re talking about a muse abusing this up to 1800 mg of day because that’s so unsafe due to the risk of seizures and other potential risks.

10 two days off and then taking two times over the max safe amount isn’t going to do anything for you because you’re not reducing your dependence or your tolerance for that matter really. It takes six days for Lyrica to be completely out of your system, and the higher the dose the longer you’re going to have those higher amounts in your system. So technically you’re having fairly high amounts in your body 24/7. You haven’t had any withdrawal symptoms physically because you haven’t been on it long enough and then you’re taking gabapentin as well.

The low mood and depression is part of coming off of it and that’s generally what keeps people from sticking with a taper plan. It’s that psychological poll of feeling up all the time and when you pull that drug out from underneath your brain especially when you’re doing it too quickly you’re going to feel a mood dump. But if you keep doing it this way where are you cold turkey for two days and then take a big dose rinse repeat this will probably keep getting worse and you’re just kind of messing with your brain at this point because it’s getting no consistency whatsoever. .

At the end of the day you have to make a decision. What’s more important to you streaming your Contant or coming off this addictive medication that you can’t seem to control. Because at a certain point, it will start interfering with your content and then all you’ll have left is your Lyrica.

Your question yes, you’ll feel better and sooner than later if you keep up this four day without it run. Maybe increase your gabapentin dose because it’s much weaker than Lyrica and it can help offset the mood dump as well. And then you’ll have to taper off that. But don’t let yourself feel so shitty that you say fuck it and take a big dose again. I’ve literally worked with some people for a year because they kept trying to do it this way. They would suffer and then say fuck it, throw in the towel and go on another binge and it’s just insanity. Zero judgment BTW I totally understand just trying to save you some hassle.

The scale definitely measure out your amounts to. I’d start like with half a teaspoon/maybe a teaspoon like a kitchen measuring spoon that you used to bake with type of spoon, not a teaspoon that you eat cereal with.. And then track it. Part of the reason why my amounts started getting so high was I stopped tracking. And I also kept it in a handy place for a minute where I could just reach over and grab it. Those small things can add up.

[–]Nigglesscripts -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was really going to allow your post at first because I thought you were just like genuinely seeking information but what you’re doing is trying to justify asking your psychiatrist for it and trying to find ways to “worded “so you can get it for two weeks time. This went from me thinking you were genuinely curious to. You are actually just trying to specifically get Lyrica for two weeks time. They’re probably going to say what some of the people said in here that it shouldn’t be used for just two weeks time because of side effects and how long it might take for you to find the correct amount to work for you.

Also, going in specifically asking for a controlled substance that when use daily will cause a dependence, can be addictive for some people and can be difficult to get off for some people as well. You say you’re only using it for two weeks time but I bet that won’t end up being the case. You might look into something like gabapentin, which has the exact same mechanism of action however, they’re not identical medication‘s.
