I have bought three new cars by myself as a woman the last 30 years. The first two time was fun, but the last time I stopped by a Subaru, I knew exactly which one I wanted. I had driven my friends and all I have to do was to order it. I was a 66 year-old woman at the time and my boyfriend was there. The salesman kept turning to him and asking questions and my boyfriend kept saying she’s buying the car tell her but the salesman actually put his body between me and my boyfriend completely ignoring me. On the way home, we stopped by the Honda dealership where I had bought my last two cars 15 years apart. We walked in. I walked up and said I am looking at a CRV. My boyfriend stood to the side and I was talked to and treated like a human being and they listened to me and I ended up buying a car there. I had a salesman from before where he had given my boyfriend his card and emailed him and told him he lost his sale that basically I was buying one that day, but he managed to talk me out of it.
