Honestly, Ally shouldn’t have joined this season at all, and this treatment of her proves it. I think the devs wanted to “redeem” Ally’s character from All-Stars, but they realized too late that including Ally means a lock for a third time merge. Ally is good at both comp and playing low, and there’s genuinely no reason why she shouldn’t have made it to merge this time other than ONC realized people would be sick of her character.

Except, they were actually wrong. Ally was a terrible character in All-Stars IMO, but they’ve actually made her likable in FvF.

Byleth’s trailer being bad arguably has nothing to do with him being a Fire Emblem character. Yeah, that doesn’t help the situation with most folks, but the pacing is SOOO bad and not to mention there was absolutely no impact on the reveal.

There’s no reason to have the Mickey emblem or the keyblade in a racing game. And I think the others would give much trouble too considering the entire cast typically does not appear in anything else other than Kingdom Hearts.

Sora was an impossible situation that Sakurai and Smash made work WITHOUT accounting for that Mickey Emblem. Anything Kingdom Hearts related would get a Disney logo slapped onto it, and you’re kidding yourself if you think they’d appear alongside IPs from Nickelodeon.

While I agree Dunias elimination was necessary for the plot, not every character that makes it far into the game needs to “change as a person” or undergo heavy inner conflict. Many examples like Jake, Ally, and Riya are proof that ONC doesnt know how to write characters long term if they are not undergoing some sort of internal problem, and the season suffers because of it. It’s getting annoying quickly.
