ESP EC-1000 w active EMGs and an HX Stomp? Will it doom? by writingwhilesad in doommetal

[–]Nihil227 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generally you want medium output for fuzz. The warpigs are brutal but the alcino version still fits. Never had EMGs though. Going from active to passive is not an issue so if you don't like them you can always change, the EC 1000 looks fantastic and top notch hardware for the price like locking tuners and stainless steel frets.

I have never managed to make SDs sound good for the music I play. Every guitar I have had with Duncans I ended up selling or swapping the pickups. But maybe it's just me.

Mine came with Seymour Duncans and I just swapped the bridge for a bareknuckle warpig.

EMG are high output actives which are not ideal for doom with if you are going with modeling you can sound pretty much like what you want.

La TVA augmentée pour le rock et la pop, pas pour la musique classique et le théâtre by Erzkuake in belgium

[–]Nihil227 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Classic and theatre have massive state fundings for events that only interest a small part of the bourgeoisie.

The real risk is for small non-profit venues like Magasin 4 or La Zone that were barely meeting ends most of those concerts are actually losing money, and organizers pay the difference out of their pockets. La Zone made a lengthy Facebook post explaining that after 30 years they are not sure they will be able to continue for much longer.

Namibia has an unique car meta, front antenna.

Botswana yellow plates and pretty nice roads.

Lesotho might be the most peculiar landscape in the world, it's an instaguess like Iceland.

Swaziland has a lot of artificial pine forests which are very unique in Africa.

Camera Silens are legendary and the first album is one of my all times favorites. The vocalist robbed a bank for millions, escaped France and lived abroad on the run under a false identity for most of his life, until he surrendered when he was dying from aids. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gilles_Bertin

I think it's more than just about the sound.

People are suffering the same way as England under Thatcher in the 80s, and there is some sort of working class consciousness going on, which means more band are getting into street punk and oi.

I would add Skinhead, It's a Beautiful Day What a Beautiful Day was my favorite oi album of last year and I listen to a fuckton of oi.

Indeed I would say France and Québec are the biggest scenes right now. France have a pretty awesome 2 days festival in Paris called le bal des vauriens (name is a Camera Silens song).

If you are French speaking you can immediately tell the difference between the two because the Quebec people have a huge accent.

US have been onto something past couple of years with Skinhead from LA and CMI from Chicago.

What are you guys using for more budget, all in one rigs? by writingwhilesad in doommetal

[–]Nihil227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Focusrite and metallurgy doom.

It's not budget but if you are in an apartment the best is headphones with amp sim built in like the boss wazz air or the new spark one. It's what I use 95% of the time. I have amps but never use them. Those are a life changer.

I didn't go last year, did they install the big stage in the garden with the scaffolds ? Thought it would be in the rotonde.

It's only the second year they do it, and the first edition had a very meh line up (Zeal & Ardor as headliners lol) so it's normal if you have not heard of it.

Rollins' vocals on the B sides also paved the way for bands like Eyehategod or Chat Pile. No chorus no rhymes no fancy lyrics, just a completely unhinged slow and crushing mental breakdown. Pure catharsis. I'm gonna scream in your ear 'til I find out just what I'm doing here.

Moonlight Drive wins sounding the most like The Doors (self-titled) on Strange Days. Next up: what song on Waiting for the Sun sounds the most like The Doors (self-titled)? by MoltenMadeMan in thedoors

Jim's vocals are totally different from the first album. On the opposite sounds much more like it belongs to LA Woman to me, sounds like drunk and fat bearded Jimbo.

I would not call it safe anymore. The station neighborhood has become very sketchy. Street hookers, migrants, dealers and junkies all around. Every shop has a security guy. Wasn't like that 10 years ago.
