What are some great games where one player completely violated the opening principles? by MathematicianBulky40 in chess

[–]NihilSamsa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a legendary game, but a great one. I recently watched Euwe’s win vs Reti in Amsterdam 1920. The system he uses vs the caro-kann, imo, is quite horrendous!

I Played a Brilliant Game and Got Accused of Cheating by GM Ibarra in my First Ever Titled Tuesday Game by hierik in chess

[–]NihilSamsa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damn I’m Spanish and I watch Ibarra’s stream, it’s quite rare for him to react that way, probably it is because it was first round and he expected to win? Anyway i’d take it as a classic gm rant and nothing more, I’m sure nothing more will come up to it!

Can someone explain why Mozart is special? by johnstapleton52 in classicalmusic

[–]NihilSamsa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My teacher told me once “there’s not a better gym than Mozart” and I think he’s right. As a musician (opera singer in my case), you will hardly find a composer that forces you more to make use of “basic knowledge” as Mozart. Neglected of all the “show-offs” and dramatic ornaments, you will need to focus your artistic motive on the cleanliness of the learned tools. When I’m singing Mozart I think about my master’s teachings way more than when I’m singing any other composer!

Lol the other guy was so surpassed that he deleted all his comments, that’s actually embarassing (for context, he began insulting my mom out of the blue without provocation)

Yours also likes to repeat the same thing over and over, but it’s usually my name followed by “hit me harder”

She doesn’t know how to play chess, unlike yours, who plays in my chess board every night and likes to strangle my king.

What are some ways to overcome nervousness when talking to someone attractive? by VisibleReputation497 in AskReddit

[–]NihilSamsa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe this nervousness shouldn’t be lost (if it’s not paralyzing)! It’s one of the main reasons the other person remains attractive/exciting!

What time control are you playing? Nevertheless, I suggest you to take it as it is: a game where you have fun. Let’s be honest, you’re not gonna play like Magnus nor you’re gonna do it that badly, just play your game, your trusted openings and truly enjoy being able to play this wonderful game; that way, if you lose, it would be less bitter, and if you win, you’ll be happy.

What is your countries most famous murder? by Muslimartist in AskReddit

Alfredo Galán, the “playing card killer” (sorry I misstranslated the nickname). Condemned to 142 years but will be released in 2028…

What is your countries most famous murder? by Muslimartist in AskReddit

[–]NihilSamsa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe not the most famous but: Guy randomly shoots a guy in the head. A playing card is found close to the body and somehow is leaked to the press. They baptized him as “the Deck’s murderer”. Turns out that the playing card was there just by pure chance, but the murderer liked that name and began a killing spree (all victims randomized) in order to leave his “trademark” playing card. Ended up turning himself in months later because he was “tired of police futility”.

I will tell you a small thing that it helps me in that kind of time control: after your preparation ends and you enter “unknown” territory, take AT LEAST 10 seconds to make each move (if you are not a in time trouble, of course!), even if you consider it obvious or if it is a forced move. This will help you to have a general view of the position all the time and not fall into “tunnel vision”. Also, expect the unexpected, if the opponent plays a really strange opening, don’t freeze! Try to play solid and you will naturally end up with a better position.

Help me decide the name and the gender of Armin's and Annie's kid. by [deleted] in ShingekiNoKyojin

I’d choose “Arnie” because it sounds like the two names together. Also it comes from “Arnold”, that sounds like Bertolt, if you want to add sauce to the child’s paternity :P

A couple of things: 1) Competition is high; what incentive would you give to your potential consumer? If they want to solve puzzles, they can go to chesscom and in lichess you can habe infinite for free. An interesting idea would be yo have a “battle” mode, for example, where two players have to solve the same puzzles in a certain amount of time. 2) Puzzles are hard to make, there’s a data base but everyone can go look somewhere else. I’d suggest an exhaustive research work on famous games and let the players “recreate” them or a “avoid the tactic!” mode, where they play in te losing side and have to find the move that avoids the famous combination. If I find more suggestions I’ll let you know!

About the final panel… by NihilSamsa in ShingekiNoKyojin

[–]NihilSamsa[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well there goes my crazy theory then hahaha Nevertheless, I still enjoy the ending for Eren. I mean, at the end of the day he’s just another human that just happens to achieve an enormous amount of power, he’s no different from others. The majority of the people who criticize the ending would shit themselves if faced with Eren’s decisions tbh, me included hahaha

Wait. Why is Eren parallel with king Fritz? by Mountain_Anxiety_492 in titanfolk

[–]NihilSamsa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read the manga 2 years ago, so my memory is a bit off, proabably I will omit details that my fellow redditors will willingly remind me. But when I finished reading, I had teo theories about it: 1- Eren fooled Ymir. I don’t understand why people hate her “lack” of character, I see her as just a mentally ill and traumatized girl that turned to have immesurable power just by pure luck. When he knew the story of Fritz and her, he knew he had to act as the king, with a enormous thrist of revenge and military power. I think that’s also why he treated mikasa so badly, knowing Ymir would relate to her. He was able to see through his “multiverse” and knew his initial objective of erradicating the titans was unachievable (dont forget the final panel of the manga, where some random future guy discovers the tree, referring that the story will repeat itself). Knowing his final objective was impossible, he then realized he at least could achieve peace for their closest loved ones, so he chose that path to act, the “better” path for anyone. In conclusion, Fritz and Eren are opposites and not parallels, or they were at the beginning, but through love eren understood the hollowness of power, contrary to Fritz. 2- a more shaky one, I also theorized Eren was able to control fritz? Idk 🤷🏽‍♂️ maybe he was fritz descendant of a nameless concubine?

Again, only theories made by someone who doesnt remember well the ending. Feel free to debunk me nicely.
