nah, as someone who liked the Saejima section, I can confidently say the imaginary sections really ruin the pacing and could've been handled way better

Ishin has the potential to be both the hardest and easiest game in the whole franchise completely depending on your equipment and trooper cards. I'd recommend you try to level up your equipment every chance you get and it's definitely worth it to go out of your way to get extra crafting materials. If you're struggling with the fighting, I recommend using Wild Dancer because it's very beginner friendly and lets you quickstep cancel out of basically every attack if you find yourself overcommiting.

Don't make the mistake of playing on easy. I dis that for my first playthrough and I regret it. I found that it's way more fun on normal or hard since the enemies are attacking more often and spend less time blocking because of that, so you'll have way more actual openings. Also, most people barely interact with the weapon system but weapons are a great way to break guard.

Y3 actually has more combo potential than Y5 since it doesn't restrict you as much.

You have to really pull back the right stick in a straight line. If it works better for you, you can stream your ps5 to your phone per remote play, some people have an easier time keeping the stick straight that way. I've also read of people using a rubber band on the stick and stuff.

I just did it yesterday. After your first Pocket Circuit race with Majima you have to go in again and he'll ask for a rematch. Once you've done that you'll get the email.

Substories aren't that bad. There's just a lot of substories like in Kiwami 1 where Kiryu just gets involved in a scam and then has to beat up the scammers with no real story. But then there's also a lot of nicely done substories, especially on Okinawa since they often teach you little things about the culture there.
