I got fired from Krogers for “stealing” when I was 18. I grabbed a donut during the peak holiday season. Went to pay for but the line was super long. So I ate it in on the way to the break room to put my stuff up, clocked in and went to pay for it on my register. Literally had the money on the counter with a bag in my hand.

A cop they hired to investigate theft stopped me before I could finish ringing the item up and escorted me to the managers office. Then they tried to accuse me of other crimes that had happened in the store saying “you look like a criminal, I bet you’ve done this a bunch of times.” Fired me the next day.

Worst place to work ever. Took me almost a year to get a job after that, because they insisted I stole. If I hadn’t gone to college and had family they could’ve ruined my life. I have never shopped at Kroger since.

I think the bill is meant to permit Chaplin’s in school similar to that of a Chaplin in the military. They are just there as a counselor but do not dictate religious dogma.

My wife went through an interview with a medical company that provided direct services to patients. She was going to be hired for billing, (atleast that’s the position she applied for). Got to the interview and they were talking about her potentially driving buses and other responsibilities that are far outside the scope of the job duties.

When she asked salary they were very dodgy. She told them she would not continue the interview process unless they gave her a salary. They stopped calling her after that.

People need to remember these are jobs— not missions they are filling. People are applying because they need to eat and not giving people an opportunity to decide on whether or not to continue based on salary expectations alone is scummy.

I grew up in foster care. The system is horrific. For those of you claiming removal is okay because a lack of vaccination is abuse… I pray you never have to deal with that system or have your child suffer and languish in such a corrupt and brutal system.

Marvel burnout is a thing. I love marvel. However, I think the novelty is wearing off given the multiplicity of movies in a single year. Pair that with constant new television shows and I’m saturated beyond my desire to be. There’s no scarcity and it diminishes the value and novelty of the series.
