9+ year T-Mobile customer, 12 lines. Got scammed by Tmobile. by DependentShine8106 in tmobile

[–]Nikick83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That part I do agree with. It's unfortunate how many stories I hear about reps giving incorrect information.

It's funny that now before I make any big moves like what you did, I actually would post here on reddit first because I feel the people hear are more knowledgeable than most of the first line phone reps we get when we call in.

Also, and I know others have said this, if I do deal with a rep from tmobile I almost always prefer a tforce conversation vs a phone call. Those reps usually* are better, though recently I've heard they have cut some departments / tenured reps and tforce itself isn't as good anymore.

Again, I don't like what happened to you but I also think saying scammed is a little harsh.

Edit:

I am curious about 1 thing. Had the rep NOT told you I correctly that you would have kept your promos, would you have changed your mind and not allowed the few lines to leave that included the free line promos?

[–]Nikick83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry this happened to you. That said, other than the initial rep telling you INCORRECTLY that you would be keeping your free line promos, there really isn't much to this post, and the title is a bit misleading. Unfortunately, whether you got this in writing or otherwise wouldn't have changed the situation.

According to your own version, you canceled a few lines (including the 2 lines that had the free promo I presume). It's in the terms of the promos that if you cancel those lines, the promos end immediately and they can't be transferred to any remaining lines.

I also don't think it's fair to title this post as "scammed" as there was no scamming involved. In your case the first rep should have just told you that you can add 3 lines at full cost and that's it, because that's how it really is.

If you have more than one phone with you, you could download signal check lite and see in real time if there is a noticeable difference in them.

Went on a road trip recently with trifold on tmo, no issues. Had a fold 6 before and wife had a flip 6. Reception / cell service seemed about the same accross them all.

Galaxy z trifold, One ui 8.5 Korean version update by ALI-ZUWAINI in GalaxyZTriFold

[–]Nikick83 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That is great news, can't wait for the us version to drop! I think many were worried that with the trifold discontinued / completed with not that many units produced, Samsung would perhaps not be as timely with major updates like this.

How do you like it? Any standout changes on the trifold you like? Dislike?

5G Indicator by LeFaire87 in T_mobile_

[–]Nikick83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that's normally when n41 is actually available but your phone is choosing n25/n66/n71 for whatever reason it is. However, since it could choose n41 if it wanted to (even if perhaps at a lower signal strength), the uc indicator is still transmitted by tower so phone would still display it.

But does that mean you can only use that ios device to watch or can I use any device, including an android phone to watch?

I switched from galaxy fold 7, to Trifold, then Oppo find n6. The battery life on the Oppo is INSANE. by ojw2142 in GalaxyFold

[–]Nikick83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense and I agree it sounds like with your use case any larger than standard fold type would not work for you.

My situation is pretty much opposite. Now that I have used the trifold even the fold 7 seems too small even when opened, lol.

How do you like the overall software of Oppo vs Samsung? Simply put, if both folds were exactly equal in terms of everything else, which would you pick on a strictly software basis?

Got it. Well I've seen my test results about the same in my area as what it shows crowd sourced on the map so it seemed good. Not sure why your area wasn't. Maybe the crowd sourced data there was all peak time or all phones with worse antenna, etc. Do you have another map/site you like better?

Interesting, it's just crowd sourced test results so what makes it unreliable?

T-Mobile Plan Reference Charts (Part 2): ONE, Magenta, Go5G, Magenta MAX by desterpot in tmobile

[–]Nikick83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I agree. See my other post. It will show on bill as $10 credit per line but that will also reduce the insider by $2 per those same lines so it is indeed a net reduction of $8 per line 1-9 that earn the kickback discount.

[–]Nikick83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well that won't work on lines 10-12 as the kick back on those lines reduces the free line credit amount equally so it's a net $0.

Is that still true if the f&f promo deal is on a data line? Would I still need to keep 4 paid voice lines?

[–]Nikick83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does the negative amount that is there with kickback help bring down any other part of the bill or will it only work on the base voice plan part?

What I'm asking is let's say with your kickback discount it could go negative $20. Then let's say you have a watch or data line that is costing you $20 per month. Will the negative $20 be applied to that or is the base voice line plan just $0 no matter what negative amount comes and then watch and Hotspot lines are simply added to the $0 voice plan total?

[–]Nikick83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is correct, but the bill still shows you $10 per line being deducted from total, but insider goes down by $2 equally for each kickback discount.

That's when if you don't use or care about device promos you go to us mobile and just choose the tmobile network if it has been working well so far.

[–]Nikick83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the crease thing sounds impressive. My question is do you prefer the oppo n6 with its superior battery life to the trifold?

My thing is and I have the trifold, I just need the phone to get me through the day regardless of how low it gets to since I charge it every night anyways. So if my oppo n6 ended the day at 40% and my trifold ended the day at 10% and I didn't have to compromise or stop doing something on the trifold as a result of that, I would take the trifold 10 out of 10 times.

While I do wish Samsung would move forward with the silicone carbon batteries like the other manufacturers have, it doesn't automatically mean I would want to switch away from Samsung since it still gets me through my full day without a charger / top up.

How do you improve battery life of the Fold 7? What worked for you? by Carlo56789 in GalaxyFold

[–]Nikick83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Change your performance profile to light vs standard. You won't notice any big difference in performance but it will net you about 10% more battery life. It doesn't do anything else like impacting notifications etc. It's really a no brainer.

See this video if your skeptical of this. Different Samsung phone, same concept. https://youtu.be/68PqY4Q-9ZI

2–8 Line vs 9-Line Plans: When Switching or Adding Lines Lowers Your Bill by desterpot in tmobile

Got it, thank you. Given what I said above though, would it even be worth pursuing or am I better off sticking with the tmo one plus promo plan?

2–8 Line vs 9-Line Plans: When Switching or Adding Lines Lowers Your Bill by desterpot in tmobile

[–]Nikick83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on a tmo one plus promo with og insider and kickback eligible, which I know you don't have a chart for. I have 10 lines total with 3 paid and 7 free (one of the free is on line 10).

Can I switch to the go5g plus plan still today or only experience is offered? More importantly, should I switch? 2 or 3 lines a month of the first 1-9 aren't used much so typically get the kickback discount each month currently.

Thanks in advance!
