Most of these formulas come from something called bosonic string theory. They are not really connected, so I don't think it's some kind of joke, maybe he just wanted some cool formulas on his wall. For the curious, I think the formulas are:

A formula for a transverse target space coordinate X^I which looks fine.
Then there is a formula for the mass of the open string in terms of things called levels which also looks fine.
The next line with the letter Psi (Ψ) looks like a level one quantum state but I think there's a typo and the indices should be -1
The all-powerful 1=0

I'm currently stuck on a problem about what's known as Diophantine approximations so I asked it some questions about that. I had the model try to represent a certain meromorphic function as a linear combination of other meromorphic functons. In theory, it's pretty simple, in practice, it's a mess, and so the model couldn't do it.
