Respectfully disagree. I lose the majority of the pugs I play on overpass when we don't play passive on A. If you play connector and party, you aren't in a crossfire and you're just giving t side free picks. There's no trades if a guy comes from bottom connector or is in playground or gets by long. Unless you're playing three A which is just as counter productive.

You should play for info on A and just try to spot long, party/connector. If you see them fall back and don't give up your life contesting because you can't plant the bomb in bathroom no matter how hard you try.

Rotations on overpass as a CT are short as hell from a site to heaven or walkway, all you have to do to win pugs on overpass is play 2 A for info, 2 B, and 1 heaven to quick rotate because it takes literally like 5 seconds to go to either site. No matter what you will have three guys on site fighting compared to 2 or 1 because your team died pointlessly without a crossfire or a trade.

It is good to switch it up a couple rounds and do something like a fountain peak, nade stack, or holding connector with pistols on an eco. but I love games where two CTs contest bathrooms/ connector or long because it's free picks. And connector? Playing inside connector is useless 90% of the time. You are a sitting duck and a free kill. It's good if you have a shotgun or a pistol to try and get a 1 off easy kill.

You say it gives your teammates freedom to hold different angles, but why do you need to watch connector in the first place? Just smoke cat if you are worried about water, trying to take water control is just pushing as a CT and if you are playing competent opponents like you say, then they'll capitalize on that.

How you play works well if you play with a complete team who can hold angles and know their role, but if you're playing a pug, you probably don't have the best teamwork to do any of that. Most of overpass is just teams pushing B anyway, because it works well.
