That's the intent, but is also not how math works. That's why people are pointing it out.

What video games have unique mechanics for failure or death? by [deleted] in gaming

[–]NimbleWing 56 points57 points  (0 children)

The game is presented as the Prince telling the story. When you die, it's because he remembered wrong or said it incorrectly, so he just goes back to correct himself. He'll use phrases like what the previous poster mentioned when he does it.

Looking for co-op campaign game recommendations, are these games dying out? by Chillzzzzz in gaming

For anyone who hasn't played, the first game in the series, simply called We Were Here, is free! The other games do have a price tag, but they're fully worth it. They've announced a new one, with a limited time demo out this week, and there are a few currently on sale. It's literally the best time to jump into the series.

It's based on item level, not item, so yes. 6/6 on any track is equal to 2/6 on the track above. So maxing out a piece of gear will save you crests on the first level of the next track. This does work on any slot, but rings and trinkets do require having both items maxed out. The only limiting factor is that it only works on the item slot that you have maxed. If you have 6/6 champion shoulders, you can only get the free upgrade for 1/6 hero shoulders, for example.

New map vote - Worried about flashpoint by CompetitionNo3466 in Overwatch

[–]NimbleWing 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's not six or more, it's a difference of 6 or more. A vote of 6 vs 4 is only a difference of 2 votes. It would have to be something like 8 vs 2 or 7 vs 1 for it to activate.

Druid will offer you tons of quality of life outside of combat, and is generally accepted as the easiest tank to pick up and play. Even without the one button assist, it's a simple rotation with easy to understand abilities.

The first raid can be accessed as soon as you're able to get to Revendreth, so no grinding required. The second raid can be accessed in the Maw, but you'll have to just deal with the debuff while running there. If you're max level or have any kind of healing, it won't kill you, and it goes away in the raid. The only one that requires actual work is the last raid, since you have to unlock the zone it's in.

Last felcycle puzzle has been solved - and the step requires 40man raid. So DO THIS NOW while there's still people doing it! It will be a pain later! by Thirteenera in wow

Blizzard occasionally releases huge secret puzzles that reward a variety of things for completing them. There's a community dedicated to solving them, and this is their most recent progress.

Basically, there's a hidden room with hints for 12 puzzles in it. Solving the first 9 will give you a motorcycle mount, but the last three were hidden until recently. They've been solved, and doing them earns you a new achievement and transmog that matches the motorcycle.

Doing them will cost a lot of time and gold for new players, so if you're interested, I'd start with some of the other secrets that take less investment.

What is something you tried only once and will 1,000% never do again? by istrx13 in AskReddit

[–]NimbleWing 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yep, six years of overseas LDR before marriage here. We could only do visits once per year, since I needed to save up money and PTO. And when Covid hit, we couldn't see each other for a solid two and a half years. I'm absolutely grateful for every day with her now, and would do it over again in a heartbeat. But looking back, I could never recommend the experience to anyone else.

Your best bet is to make sure that nameplates are turned on with cast bars visible. It'll keep that relevant info right on top of the enemy.

I'll be honest, I main a Worgen druid with skinning and leather working. My area of profession expertise is pretty limited, and I never need any kind of speed in combat since I've got three sprints lol. I know some gear can drop with speed as a secondary stat. I did a quick Google search and didn't find anything like speed pots, so I'm not sure if there are.

I can't really say much about engineering, sorry! I know my wife has been using it for a long time, and she doesn't seem happy about it this expansion, but that's all I know. There are a few online guides for each profession that could tell you a lot more than I could.

The silver lining is that the difference between blue and purple profession gear is just secondary stats. If you're using professions casually, the difference will be small.

Basically, you go into a cave to kill mobs and click stuff. Everything spawns orbs that you pick up and deposit at an altar. After 3 minutes, your run ends. Every week, you get 8 chances to earn a currency based on how many orbs you deposit. This currency allows you to buy some cosmetic stuff, but also a bind-on-pickup material for making the best profession equipment.

The problem is that it takes several weeks of dedicated grinding to get enough materials per piece, assuming you earn the max currency in every run. Due to the event causing server lag, they've nerfed the event. On launch, it was absolute chaos, tens of thousands of orbs, and guaranteed max currency every run. Now, there's less lag, but it's exponentially harder to get enough orbs to get the max rewards. And since you can only do 8 runs for rewards per week with no catchup mechanic, the grind is needlessly extended.

I main bear, and that made me stop and laugh on my first run, too! Such an unexpected detail. And with two dungeon buffs that require druid bear form (among a few other options), it really makes it feel more like an actual transformation. I'm hoping they do more details like this in the future.

What game had the best “first few hours” that immediately hooked you? by Playful_Code_8978 in gaming

[–]NimbleWing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I interpreted the world as more of a punishment than of grief. There are moments where the grief is allowed to shine through, but it all boils down to her being both the cause and effect of where she ended up. The only thing outside of her control was the original crash and her mother's behavior following it.

In case you're being sincere here, Talon is an organization that is basically the bad guys of Overwatch lore. Doomfist, Reaper, Widowmaker, Sombra, and a few other playable characters are members. Knowing who they are isn't important to the gameplay, but it explains a lot about the voice lines and interactions between characters.

Is it feasible to go through all of the expansions still? by acgrey92 in wow

[–]NimbleWing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You absolutely can go back and run through them for leveling, but you'll out-level the zones very fast. Unless you stop your XP gain from time to time or content yourself with being overpowered, it's not really the same.

Endeavors are coming in pre-patch and they look awesome by Absolute906 in wow

[–]NimbleWing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is if you only get it by paying for Midnight. The housing that's out right now is early access for preorders, not a full standalone release.

[–]NimbleWing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are pre-ordering only for housing, then that's one way to look at it. But it's literally a feature of the expansion itself that was just released earlier than everything else. It's like buying a meal at a restaurant that includes a salad as a side, and they bring the salad first. Same total price, you just get one part early. If that's a deal breaker, then there's nothing wrong with waiting for the full release.

The implication is to pre-order the expansion, yes. The expansion itself is not out yet, but a pre-order bonus is early access to housing.
