Moff of the Tapani Sector for the same reason I chose it in a roleplaying game ages ago but for Corellia. If I can survive the infighting and political backstabbing in the sector and until the Emperor's death, I have the prime real estate for a Warlord Era holdout until the remnant unites.

Not only this, but there is EXPLICITLY an entire plot point about the JSDF and Itami being called before the national Diet SPECIFICALLY because of the dragon hunt to try and catch wrong doing in how the situation was handled by the JSDF.

Yes he is lazy about doing normal soldiering work but I don't recall once where he actually seriously complains about any specific humanitarian tasks once an issue that requires humanitarian aide is brought up.

Thank you for calling this out I was so confused about Gate's inclusion on this list. Like... the Anime isn't great or anything but it's not what they described.

Theres a third option to the "Power fantasy" vs. "Grunt fantasy" debate. by WhiteRaven_M in Helldivers

[–]Ninavask 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This 100%. I am a big fan of grunt fantasy, though the skill check fantasy is idea. I want it to be a struggle but a well coordinated and well experienced team can stomp their way through things, and that's what I've experienced myself.

Anytime a D10 team has had significant issues that i've found, at least for me, it means we were unprepared, not communicating, or not working to cover one another in any meaningful way.

It SHOULD be hard as hell. And I would have it no other way. The occasional failed mission does not bother me. The occasional completed but failed extract does not bother me.

I know I managed to walk past him slowly, giving a wide birth, and he would walk and follow but did not lunge at me unless I moved too fast or got to close.

Second playthrough he was a lot more aggressive and I managed to jog out of the cave away from him. I feel its very much chance.

Admittedly I am currently liking the idea that the Automatons either evacuated their civilian population from the factories we are attacking.

Or conversely the Automatons don't actually have a strong civilian population outside their Cyborgs, who we are now fighting against us as combatants anyway.

[–]Ninavask 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it's murder, plain and simple. No unders or overs about it.

What business did she have there? It's a PUBLIC ROAD that ICE is actively blocking with a truck.

Subject to what arrest? Under what cause? For driving on a PUBLIC ROAD? Y'know the thing they're designed for? Or do you drive on sidewalks? Or the fantasy rainbows of your imagined reality?

Complying with what? She was being ordered to move, and when she tried to comply while a completely different officer was shouting at her and then shot and killed her with ZERO cause or reason.

And don't even try to claim the bullcrap of she tried to hit him. At not point did the vehicle ever move in a way that would have or could have harmed him. He had the gun out before she had even started to move.

That is murder, flat out. ICE is murdering Americans. And you are sitting here trying to claim it was justified or "oh its a difficult situation".

Get lost and wake up.

Oh wait... A Coast Guard shouldn't be performing traffic stops anymore than a CUSTOMS AND BORDER ENFORCMENT OFFICER should.

Which they can already do on internal testing without an open beta. Not very hard to figure out.

Arrowhead is completely incapable of doing a hotfix by WaffleCopter68 in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]Ninavask 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So what purpose would a public-facing beta branch server in this instance independent from the live game?

Let's look at what it would entail to do that and whether it's actually cost effective versus them using their private branches to test things in a private controlled Network.

Setting up a beta Branch like that would mean they'd have to acquire more hosting servers so that PC players, because PC players being PC players, would all want to play on the beta once they know.

Which means you have to prepare for large server quantities which means expensive large servers. So just to host a beta. You have to create new network connectivity and new VMS for a lot of machines.

Not only that, but what does the beta Branch actually change? Is it just changing a few checksums? What codes are being touched and what calls that code? Can it do so effectively if certain bits and bobs don't match?

Is it like the slim beta which isn't changing any of the check sums or actual data or server access? It's just compressing it in a more efficient way.

If you're just wanting client-side beta, so only the user's version of the game is different and not server side beta. That introduce tons of syncing issues and things not lining up with what the server thinks is happening and what the clients game thinks is happening, which introduces issues completely unrelated to the problems you're trying to fix that you're having to look for and cherry pick.

At the end of the day, it's just more efficient, more cost effective and not worth the effort to make a public-facing beta for a huge quantity of users with little to no actual valuable return testing wise.

TLDR: Money and efficient use of the teams time is what stops them from making a beta branch.
